Sarah, Dan and family were lovely to sit for, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with their very sweet natured animal family, in their very smart and comfortable home. We were provided very thorough guidance notes, given a helpful walk-through, and Dan was kind enough to take us on a little of the beautiful sights of Manningtree! Squidge, the pussy cats and the fish, were all impeccable hosts and were a delight to meet and spend time with. All gentle, sweet characters and a treat to be around! Walks with Squidge in the beautiful countryside were particularly special treats, picking the berries and playing with the butterflies! Their home is on a very peaceful road with lovely neighbours, and we slept well in their beautiful guest suite. All in all, it was a very enjoyable sit, we would definitely sign up again!
I want to thank Cliff for the opportunity to have been in his home, taking care of a magnificent and affectionate cat named Ollie. Everything from start to finish has been great, the communication, the instructions and the welcome. Cliff has one of the most beautiful and well-kept houses I have ever seen. But the most important thing is Ollie, we are going to miss him very much, spending time with him, sleeping with him and giving him his favorite food. He is a super calm and affectionate cat.
I had a wonderful time sitting for Nicole and Bram. The dogs, Louis and Molly, are gorgeous, cuddly, loving, energetic sweethearts. I loved taking them for big walks/jogs on the beautiful trails just 5min drive away. I also took Louis and Molly to Spanish Banks almost every night. I found that two big walks a day was a good routine and burned lots of energy. Louis gets a little more restless than Molly if he doesn't get a good run in. He is also a very good communicator - he will let you know if he wants something haha. That being said, it's pretty easy to keep him happy and chill with walks and treats. Louis and Molly both slept in the bed with me and love to be under the covers. Nicole let me know they could sleep on their own but I was happy to have the company. They're very loving and they're happy to stay in bed as late - they've got big energy but they will sleep for hours and hours no problem! Nicole and Bram were super welcoming and laid back. Everything was straightforward and easy. Would happily come back anytime :)
Fabiana and Denis are a wonderfully warm and welcoming Brazilian young couple. They made us feel In their beautiful, very tidy and clean apartment, just at home. We really enjoyed looking after Bruce, who is a very loving and behaved dog.
This was a dream housesit. Chuck is the most gentle, beautiful canine soul, and an absolute pleasure to look after. He is an angel. He stole my heart. I already am dreaming of returning to care for Chuck again. Gabrielle is so lovely, the communication on all fronts was flawless, before and during our housesit, all was perfect, her home is very clean and spacious, I absolutely loved every single thing about this housesit. The location is stunning as well and very ideal. It was an honour to get to care for Chuck at Gabrielle’s beautiful home.
Bubbles and Meushi were great pets to take care of. They were both very sweet and enjoyed cuddling. The dogs always got excited for their walks and they walked well together. Stephanie was very kind and answered all of our questions promptly. Our time pet sitting here was perfect!

Our dog George (see photo taken by Elaine) has been visiting the Happy Hound Hotel for 8 years and we think the set up there is brilliant. The best bit is that the dogs are free to come and go between the house and the yard as they please, and they get a big field to run around and play together for exercise. This is so much better than being stuck in a concrete cage and getting a perfunctory walk around a yard, which is the set up at the other places we looked at. Elaine is really nice and looks after the dogs well. One time I turned up with George unexpectely as there had been a mix up on dates. I turned up at Elaine's front door and her husband answered it (holding a new baby). As he wasn't expecting me he had every reason to be a bit put out, but the way he greeted George it was like one of his family. In summary, a great place for your dogs; I can't recommend it enough. Only thing to watch, is book early as places get booked up quite quickly.
We're really happy that we found the Happy Hound Hotel as our two dogs love it. The rooms are great and the outdoor space is brilliant with different enclosed runs and a big paddock for the dogs to play in. Elaine is great with our two girls, one of which is a rescue, and she is happy to cater for raw food as well. She sent us lots of pictures when we were last away and it was great to see the girls so happy. So much better than traditional kennels.
We've been using Happy Hound Hotel for our dog for a few years now and we highly recommend this place. We love receiving photos and updates about our dog and it's reassuring to know he's having a wonderful time and he's settled. We love the outdoor area and the clean rooms provided for dogs. We think of the Happy Hound Hotel a holiday home for our dog where he has a chance to play with other dogs and run around. We are confident he's well looked after as as he will be at home. Please book well in advance as the demand is high for such a good service.
The Happy Hound Hotel have been looking after our much loved dogs for a good number of years now. Our first dog had boarded in a few different places both in Ireland and Scotland but never seemed to enjoy the experience - the Happy Hound Hotel was just a world apart. He was so relaxed and happy and as an owner you know when they're really content and they happily skip back when they get to visit again. I was worried about leaving our second dog but things couldn't have been better. The premises are beautifully decorated and kitted out with lovely beds, sofas, decor - the only difference to other hotels are the very happy dogs enjoying the amenities instead of humans! More important than that, Elaine, Andy and family are so good to the dogs. Quinn has been treated like one of the family and even the children remember the dogs by name and the dogs are as pleased to see them. The dogs get fantastic walks in the stunning surrounding landscape and the genuine loving care that you would give your own dog. Make sure you book early as they're rightly very popular and fill up much more quickly than most places. I think everyone who's used them turns into a returning customer for life!
We spent a lot of time taking advice and visiting Many local boarding options for our two very special Samoyed twins. For us it was almost love at first Sight Happy Hounds Hotel is quite frankly like no other. Elaine the owner is very friendly and attentive And frequently sends us photos of our two On what’s app while we are on holiday. It’s so much Easier to enjoy your time away knowing your paw Family are settled. The set up at happy hounds is perfect plenty of secure gates lots of exercise areas and numbers strictly limited to 8 boarders. All of whom must pass Elaine’s friendly test before being Admitted to this 5 star hotel. Our only issue is the fact our two don’t want to leave when we pick them up on our return 😃. Well done Elaine and family don’t know what we would do without you guys keep up the great work. 😃
Calvin our cockapoo has been going to the Happy Hound Hotel for his summer holidays and other short breaks since we got him three years ago. He’s always well looked after and happy there. We didn’t want to put him in kennels and this is a great alternative. The dogs have much more freedom and a comfy room to stay in. Elaine the owner is lovely. She sends us photos while we are on holiday. Calvin always looks happy running about the fields. Calvin always looks well cared for when we pick him up at the end of our break. Highly recommended!
We left our 4 year old cavachon with Elaine and Andy for 2 weeks .It’s the first time we’ve ever left her and Elaine sent us pictures of her throughout her stay . We could see how happy and well cared for she was . I wouldn’t ever hesitate to leave her with Elaine and Andy , she had a ball and we had peace of mind .
We have been a regular user of the Happy Hound for 7 years now and my dog loves it. Elaine & Andy are great & I have no worries about leaving my boy with them. They have the dog’s best interest at heart and make their stay with them comfortable & fun. On my summer holls away I get photos & regular up dates on how he is doing & I think I am missing him more than he misses me. I would definitely recommend the Happy Hound hotel. We would be lost without them. X

The best dog place ever. I have not booked holiday if I can’t get my girls into the Happy Hiund Hotel. They love it. It’s like a home from home and I feel really safe leaving them there. Elaine is really lovely and cares about the dogs she looks after. Highly recommend her and also the dog grooming business she does too.
Wonderful Una so friendly and very clearly a dog lover. My two dogs stayed at the kennels for 4 nights and where Happy and full of life when we picked them up. Thank you for looking after my hairy babies so well. Would happily recommend and will use again and again.

Dog had a nice 3 night stay there. She was a bit freaked at first with all the barking but soon settled down. Good clean promises. Very welcoming owner. Looks like dog will return!
My border collie stayed here for 2 weeks while we were on holiday he had a great time una is so loving and caring would not hesitate to send him again .

Trina and Gregg have known my pup since she was just over 11 weeks. She went to puppy club to help socialise her and then onto pack walks. They are great with the dogs and keep you up to date all the way. My dog Bute just loves her walks and is so happy. Highly recommended.
Trina has been looking after my two 'boys' Alfie & Teddy for almost two years for both weekly walking and boarding during holidays. The dogs absolutely love Trina and get so excited when I mention her name and rush out the door when she comes to pick them up. My dogs are like my children and Trina treats them like that too and I can totally trust her to look after them. She is totally reliable, always accommodates last minutes requests for me and is great value especially having two dogs. The walks are varied and it's great for them out walking with other dogs. I'd highly recommend Trina if you're looking for someone to look after your dog. She's the best!
Trina from It’s a Dogs Life has been walking my dog for over 2 years now (since a puppy). I honestly don’t know what I’d do without her. Trina is professional & extremely accommodating and my dog absolutely loves his walks with her and the other pack dogs. She considers the dog’s confidence and behaviour before joining them into the most appropriate pack walk. What I also love, are the photos & videos she takes when on her walks so we as owners can see what our fur babies have been up to. I also use Its a Dog Life for boarding and I know my dog is treated like one of her own. I would have no hesitation in recommending It’s a Dogs Life.
Trina had been taking my dog for puppy club and now group walks this year. It has been great for his socialisation skills whilst he's still a puppy and young dog and he really enjoys it. He gets really excited when I mention her name and will wait at the door when he knows she's coming to take him out. I trust trina to look after him just as I would as she treats him as her own. Trina has been taking my staffy Luna for walks and boarding from summer 2019. Trina has helped us out with boarding and walks during some tricky times, often last minute too so she's been a god send at times. Luna absolutely loves going out on her pack walks, she loves it so much that when she hears Trina's van outside she goes crazy. Luna always arrives back from boarding knackered (which is lovely) I feel at complete ease leaving Luna with Trina overnight as she is spoiled and pampered just like at home. I highly recommend It's a Dogs Life for walking and boarding services, Trina is a gem.
We have used the services of Its a dogs life since June / July of this year, I can honestly say its the best thing we have done for our dog. He is really well looked after by Trina and gets some amazing walks / socialisation with other dogs. Trina treats Jura like her own dog and even on the most trying of days with Jura he still gets a cuddle. I trust her completely and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dog walker.
My cockerpoo Clio has been going to daycare with Trina and Greg for a couple of months now and she loves it! It has also really helped with her separation anxiety so that's an unexpected bonus.

Hamish has really enjoyed his walks with Amy. Amy always responds to our messages and keeps us informed on how Hamish is settling in within the group. Amy is trustworthy and responsible, so much so that we often get her to check-in on our rabbits when we're away on holiday.
It's been so great having Amy and Anna to walk Bailey as it gives her a really good chance to socialise with other dogs which she really missed out on in her early years. Both Amy and Anna really care about Bailey as if she was their own dog and would always recommend then.

Gillian took Casper out on his first walk plus an extra hour on Friday. It was great receiving pictures of him whilst out a walk/playing and finding out how he was getting on and behaving with her. Its a great service to have especially if you have a busy schedule and dont have the time to take your dog out the long walks they need. Will definitely be using again thanks again gillian xx
