Cat Sitters in Iona, FL

Saundra and Andres were wonderful pet sitters to our two dogs. I could tell as soon as I picked them up at the airport that they were going to be a good fit because Saundra had downloaded pictures of our dogs to her phone! As soon as they arrived, the dogs immediately took to them and they treated the dogs like they had known them forever. Saundra came well prepared with questions from our Pet Sitters Guide and Andres asked about caring for our home as well as the dogs. While we were gone for two weeks, Saundra and Andres took our dogs boating and island hopping nearly every day, sometime twice a day! I know our dogs were loved, spoiled, and well-treated. We came home to a clean home, fresh flowers, a thank you card, doggie treats, the lawn mown, and a clean boat and car. We're so grateful for sitters like Saundra and Andres who deliver on their promise to treat our home and our pets as if they were their own. I would love for them to come back another time! Olga and Sampson were great house/pet sitters. She was very available via text and sent several pics/videos of the pets during our absence. She was organized and reliable and the pets really took to her and Sampson.

Vicki & Al were wonderful pet sitters. They are a very kind & friendly couple. We received pictures while away, which is always a comfort to know Bella was not alone. Our home was left clean and orderly upon our return. We would not hesitate to invite them back. Highly recommend.

Jamie did an out standing job with our two little fur babies! She loved on them a lot and took the time to really get to know them over the 7 days of being with them. She provided very thorough and detailed updates each day which really put our minds at ease. I could tell by her descriptions that she really grew to know and understand our doggies and all their little habits and funny behaviors. She sent great photos of them as well. She took them on daily walks and had fun giving them lots of endearing nicknames. Jamie did bring her cat, Co-Co with her, as they come as a package deal, but Co-Co was very well behaved and didn’t bother the dogs at all. One of them even snuggled with Co-Co. So as long as you know that and don’t mind, it’s all good as Jamie is a wonderful sitter! She is also kind and considerate and we appreciated having her. When it came time to say goodbye, our little puppy was sad and cried at the door, and also watched her out the window as she drove away. Thank you so much Jamie! We will all miss you!!

LeeAnn and Stephen were great. I felt very secure and comfortable that our home and pets were in good hands. LeeAnn sent us daily updates- very reassuring. Our communications were friendly and straightforward. I look forward to having them sit for us again.

Cathy is/was wonderful! Responsible, kind, fun, energetic and really cared for the 2 cats beautifully ! Administered all the medcations and connected daily with texts and photos! I cam home to an immaculate home which is such a gift after traveling and working! I would highly recommend anyone ask her to sit if she is in fact available! Thank you Cathy and cannot wait to see you again!!

I felt peace of mind that my cat and dog were in great hands; I am so grateful and was able to really enjoy my time away.

I’m sure when Amy applied for this sit it never occurred to her that she might be spending a few days riding out a tropical storm while comforting our thunder-fearing Staffy. It turns out that is exactly what happened and she handled it with patience and class. Tessie fell in love with Amy minutes after she arrived and I am pretty sure that the feeling was mutual. Amy went above and beyond communicating the entire time she sat for us, keeping us updated and informed yet not overwhelming us with unnecessary reports or photos. She got it just right. As a matter of fact she got it all right, from caring for our dog to maintaining our home and respecting our property, even overseeing an appliance repair technician scheduled to fix the dishwasher. Amy was a pleasure to deal with and get to know. Having Amy as a sitter made me realize that she has a very important quality that I will be looking for when we need another sitter- maturity. Many thanks to Amy for handling a stressful situation with maturity and a positive attitude.

My husband and I are so grateful to have met Cristina and to have had her take care of our girls while we were away. From the initial FaceTime call, I could tell Cristina was an animal lover with a very sweet and caring disposition, and I was not wrong at all! Our girls (a cat and a dog) loved her right away! Cristina made sure to send us daily photos and updates and we were able to enjoy our vacation knowing that the girls were in great hands :) Cristina was a very tidy and clean houseguest and left the house spotless. We would definitely welcome an opportunity to have her stay in our home and with our girls again! I know the girls missed her the minute she said goodbye!

David and I clicked on the Zoom interview, but it was not a great fit, ultimately. The pets are fine, so the most important thing is that. And the house is fine. I guess I've been spoiled by great sitters who left our house impeccably clean and communicated daily with pictures and information that clearly indicated they knew our pets well and were taking really good care of them and our house. This seems to be the zeewoi standard. But I had to contact David every time I wanted information. He never contacted us once, although he did respond within the hour when I contacted him. But not a picture. Nothing. He even jokingly complained that our cat wasn't being warm enough to him and he considered himself a cat whisperer and was a little peeved. I laughed along and shrugged it off because he was such a nice guy. But I think he found my detailed instructions too informative? Over the 25 years I've had pet sitters some have joked about my very thorough instructions, but everyone, until David, told me they very much appreciated too much information rather than not enough. It doesn't appear he paid them much attention. He didn't recycle. He didn't take in our mail, several days worth was left sitting in our mailbox, which he explained was because we hadn't explicitly asked him to bring it in. The same was true about sending pics of the animals or communication. If I'd asked he would have, but I didn't, so he didn't. The same went for a package that was delivered the day we came home. It arrived at noon, 5 hours before he left our house, but he just left it outside. He said he figured it "would be fine" out there until we got home. He also left earlier than we'd agreed to over text. It's clear if you read the instructions what time the dogs eat dinner and I told him to please stay until dinner, walk them as instructed and then feed them before he left. He left an hour and a half earlier than that to meet friends at the beach. He also didn't follow the instructions for feeding one of our cats, about not leaving her food out because the dogs would eat it before she got a chance to. He did this at least twice that I know of. There was a coating of sand in the shower. The bed was made-ish. He didn't bother with the wash cloth on the bathroom counter I asked him to use to wipe it down so the poured cement doesn't stain. It was untouched, perfectly folded and the post-it note was still stuck to it . The floor was not swept, lots of fur tumbleweeds, although I'd left the vacuum out. And when I challenged him his response was that, "he was not a professional." Except that this site is based on a pay-based membership and at least I expect professional behavior from the sitters who I entrust with my pets and my house. He was taken aback by my texts challenging him when we got home and had discovered all the above. He said he's received nothing but good reviews before and I have no reason not to believe him. He also said he "probably won't use the app again." He said he was "feeling a little attacked" by my observations, even explaining that he'd been asked back by other sitters, and one even paid him some $, though he hadn't asked for it and never would. I've never ever had anything but great relationships with the sitters I've had in my home, through this site or before over the years. Some were long-term sitters for over a decade. I liked David very much as a person over the phone. I have to say we were not a good match once I came home and saw the lack of attention to our instructions, and that he hadn't cleaned up after himself thoroughly before leaving. Not all fits are good ones. This one wasn't for me., though I wish David the best, as he did me.

We were relaxed knowing Philippe was watching the house and cats while we were traveling several months. He sent pictures every day and kept us fully informed. We came home to happy kitties and a perfect home!

Wayne and Deanna are a super pleasant, conscientious couple. Would love to have them sit for us again!
