We had a lovely time house-sitting in Trowbridge with the three golden retrievers. The dogs were so good-natured and affectionate, they were a pleasure to spend time with. Ruth had booked her regular dog-walking field for daily exercise sessions, and loaned her estate car for this, so any future sitters need to be confident driving and able to lift Winnie's back-end into the car. Sitters also need to be happy with safe handling of raw food and fish. We haven't looked after bitches in season before so that was a dynamic to take on board, but it was fine. The house is really well set up for the care of the dogs, with washable pet rugs, hose pipes and a wet room in case of need. The gravel and paved outdoor area meant we had no difficulty keeping things clean. Everything was in place for our stay, and we appreciated that. Ruth and Colin were flexible about timings and we arrived a day early to take advantage of a summer festival nearby. They very kindly took us out for a meal, and we had a lovely sociable evening before they went away. We had a comfortable guest room and the house had everything we needed. Sitters need to be aware that there is CCTV for security and whilst we discussed the THS policy on surveillance we agreed on its reasonable use. Trust is everything in this situation, and we had to trust that Ruth & Colin would only look at footage if there was an emergency. A longer than usual review, but intended to help any future applicants. This is an excellent sit for responsible and fairly experienced adults who enjoy caring for larger dogs.
Sitting for Alex & Nora was a true treat. Everything went smoothly from beginning to end and their home was not only beautiful but also comfortable and tidy. Taki and Corkey are the sweetest kitties, the moment I walked in they were so eager to say hello and made me feel so welcome :) Taki is very playful and loves his toys while Corkey is a little more relaxed and is happy watching you cook from her favorite kitchen chair. They both stole my heart and I miss them dearly. I can't wait to sit for them in the future!
We very much enjoyed our time looking after Dorje and Kepu. When we arrived Gaynor and Paul made us very welcome and left notes for us and maps of where to go for walks. We settled easily into their routine at home. Dorje and Kepu enjoyed our walks particularly when we took them in the car to the New Forest. They liked to be with us as much as they could being with us on the bed or on the sofa snuggling up for a nice cuddle. We enjoyed their chats when asking to go outside or telling us we had taken to long getting to our walk place. We kept in touch with Gaynor and Paul sending a photo every couple of days.
Pet sitting Xabi was an amazing experience! Louise and her family are extremely kind and friendly, they made us feel at home since the first day. Xabi is pure love, he is the perfect companion, he loves to stay with you and play all the time. Xabi behaved perfectly since the first day, also when he was not on the leash he always listened to us. He is friendly with any kind of people and dog, so we loved to watch him play with everyone at the park. The house is adorable and the neighbourhood is very nice, full of parks, connected to the center through free busses and close to the main park in Perth. We loved staying by Louise house pet sitting Xabi! We are really grateful for this experience and would definitely recommend to everyone! Ps: already missing Xabi🧡
This was such a great sit David and Sherry are wonderful people and great to meet. Made me feel right at home and their little dogs Izzy and Sophie were just a delight. Izzy has quite the little personality and definitely can get her point across with the way she talks to you and Sophie is a little love bug who likes to play. The house was beautiful and located in a great neighborhood I cannot say enough nice things about the neighbors they have. I would definitely sit for them again. Thanks again.
Sitting for Eva was such a pleasure! We ended up getting to spend some time together because she didn't end up leaving till a day later and she was super accommodating and easy, a true Libra rising gal! I got to meet her downstairs neighbor who was super sweet as well. Her place is so nice and beautiful, as is Bryce, as is Eva! You will be told on every walk by at least one person how gorgeous Bryce is, guaranteed. It rained most of the time I was there which was kind of a bummer but I got to hang out with Bryce more which I was happy to do. The dog park near Eva is pretty fun and lively and everyone was super friendly, and the neighborhood itself is great, has everything you need. Felt very clear about instructions and very taken care of the entire time. Highly recommend and would be happy to sit here again anytime!
