Carla just left after taking care of our home and 3 dogs for over a month. She was great! We returned to a home that was neat as a pin and 3 dogs who were happy and healthy. We live quite remotely but she was easily able to handle snow that fell unexpectedly. Carla was great at reaching out to us if she had a question and sent us reassuring photos of our pets throughout our absence. We were out of the country much of the time and she was very considerate of our communication challenges while still keeping us up to date on the dogs. She even left us a fresh baked loaf of banana bread to welcome us home. (Thank you Carla!) We would gladly have her back anytime we need a sitter again.
Yannan came to housesit with her friend MJ. Her communication was great prior to the housesit. We have two small children and made it clear we wanted to leave at a specific time which she agreed to. A 3 hour drive to our home turned into 7.5 hours somehow, they were 2.5 hours late. Once they arrived, everything seemed clearly laid out. They sent me updates about the dog and about taking care of the garden. Before we left, they asked if the dog could be left outside when they left the house and I said no. I said that the dog enjoys being outside, but he is not an outdoor dog, especially in the heat. They did leave him outside and went to a town 45 mins away. My friend had to come check on him in the heat, but wasn't able to bring him inside. After texting them and reiterating that our dog doesn't live outside, they did come back early. Other than those two unfortunate events, they left the house clean and took great care of our garden.
Did I ever hit the jackpot! This was my second experience with Patrick and Angela - I was so lucky to have them here again. They’re calm, competent, and capable; intelligent, amusing, and charming; totally trustworthy. I had a trip scheduled, but the weather had other plans; an ice storm delayed my departure for 10 days, and meanwhile, I discovered that a trip to the vet had resulted in ear mites. (Looking back, I was totally crazed.) They were so kind (and luckily, so flexible!) and assured me that they could handle the delay and the ear mites as well. When I finally left, it was in a state of perfect trust. I knew that the cats would be loved and well cared-for; I knew that Patrick and Angela could handle anything weird that came up; I knew I’d get periodic updates and great pictures, and that they’d respond quickly if I had questions or concerns; I knew I’d return to happy cats and a clean apartment. And that’s just what happened. Timely communication; cats with new toys, new interests, and no ear mites; spotless apartment, and amazing treats. “When the shoe fits, the foot is forgotten” I had texted them. Though I missed the cats, I never had a moment of worry - Patrick and Angela had it all covered. That freed me up to be exactly where I was. Such a gift - and isn’t that the goal? Patrick and Angela are the people that make me recommend zeewoi to everyone I know. If they’ve applied for your sit, grab them quickly! You won’t be sorry.
