I was very fortunate to be chosen to take care of Layla for two weeks in Weil am Rhein. She is healthy but she is old and deserves respect for that. I tried to go around the block with here three times a day but she was not always in the mood. Especially when the weather was not perfect she could insist on going back at the end of the street. But sometimes she tried running, especially on a stretch where she could feel confident that she would not bump her head into some obstacle - it was a joy to "run" such a short stretch with her. At home she slept most of the time. But when the weather was good, she would lie at the open garden door and be awake to listen to the birds singing spring. In the evenings she liked lying next to the couch where I was sitting, now and then patting her head. I enjoyed the apartment. The street is very quiet. It runs parallel to the main street where the tram runs, with stores and a bakery to get fresh Brötchen in the morning. One can also go on foot to France or to Switzerland - really amazing location! (Just watch out for data roaming costs outside the EU.) Communication with Bettina was very good.
Thanks to Covid this was a special sit with changing dates but also flexibility from booth sides. Silvia and her family were very hospitable and made us feel at home in their beautiful home. And then of course there were Bea and the cats, each with its own special character, with whom we had a lot of fun. They were so easy to be with and caring for them was a real joy. Despite the bad weather on some days we walked and biked a lot and enjoyed the nearby nature. It is an ideal place to relax and disconnect from cities. I can highly recommend this housesit!
Excellent stay. Well-equipped home, very generous hosts, and the cutest sweetest feline friends. House located conveniently close to metro station (for easy access to DC) as well as walking paths.
Stephan and his family were absolutely wonderful to pet sit for! There was clear and consistent communication throughout the process and the stay. Matzo is an absolute angel of a cat who was extremely loving and cuddly. He was very easy going and required very little. Matzo was perfectly fine when I left the house for a couple of hours and was always ready to greet me with meows and cuddles as soon as I returned. The apartment had everything I needed and was a very comfortable and clean place to stay!
Our stay here in the beautiful church property was so unique and special, we were really glad to have the opportunity to spend a few days here. Samantha and David made everything simple by leaving heaps of notes and set up a very welcoming experience, we were just disappointed we didn't get to meet them in person due to our scheduling conflicts. Monkey kept us company and entertained us. She followed us on afternoon walks on the property. She is such an easy going cat, she seems to enjoy your company and just relax. We had a really wonderful housesittng experience. David and Samantha have an undeniably exceptional and spacious home and the property is full of charm and history.
Ellie is a great dog! The house is in a great location and is tidy and clean. Great communication and clear instructions. Highly recommend.
