I hated it Couldn’t wait to leave. The cat wakes up at 2am, 3am, 4am every morning by meowing so loud at your door you can’t sleep he wants to go outside in the middle of the morning to sit. This was clearly never discussed or talked about until the day I arrived. Sandra the wife tells me, Oh by the way the cat like to go outside at 5 am and we put him on his leash. The next morning I got up at 5am while they slept to take the cat outside. Sandra later came in the kitchen and said I’m sorry then we took the cat out at 5am But I can’t fall back asleep. After driving five days from Chicago to get here Felipe stayed home with me the whole day working in his bedroom. While he was nice and working in his room. No one is supposed to be home for the sit, I slept for a few hours exhausted from a 4-5 day drive I needed to sleep, then left til his wife came home. While he was in his room with the door closed working in some cultures and religions a women can not be in the home with another women’s husband alone. So I stayed out. Nothing to do with him he was a gentleman and kind. Just I don’t sit in the home with a married man unless the wife if there. That’s a 60 year old speaking. I kept texting saying is your wife home yet? At which point I emailed TH. It’s now day two and they are still here leaving at 7:30pm at night on the second day, #uncomfortable. How do you say this when you are in their home. They were kind and tried to be sweet however the home needs to be emptied and I can’t ask you to leave your home. I did everything possible to make the cat comfortable I played. I fed him. I cleaned his litter. I gave him water. I played relaxing music on you tube. I walked him on his leash outside, but still I was miserable. No human should have to work around the cats wanting to go outside at 2-5 am. It’s not fair to me the sitter. When you wake up for a week at 2-3 am and can’t go back to sleep over and over your day is off from being sleepy all day so not much fun because I was exhausted. I feel this is something that should be in the listing so we can make and intelligent decision if we want to sit. Couldn’t wait to leave counting the days and hours. I’m a professional with 43 five stars reviews on TH tons of review of Rover and other housesitting sites. Be honest about your home and pet. Never again and I do not recommend this for anyone unless you can sleep through anything.
We had a great time at Anastasia's apartment with her cat Borya. He is a very affectionate cat. He would frequently snuggle with us and lavish us with love and attention. He is simple to look after. Her place is in a really nice neighborhood with a lot of cafes, restaurants, and shops nearby. Central Park is only a 10-minute walk away, and Riverside Park is right across the street. We had a fantastic stay and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Thank you 😊
Had a lovely time with Poppy, Lenny, Puccini and the hens. All very well-behaved. Met Marian briefly before she left and she kindly showed me where the dogs go on their daily walk. Cosy and comfortable house, has everything you need. Peaceful garden. Great location for exploring, lots of walks and beaches nearby. One of my favourite HS.
Thank you Daina for extending to us your kind hospitality during our sit. Their modern home had a great country-feel and was clean and bright.....loved Daina's and her girls artworks around the home, such a talented family. The highlight for us was looking after Max and young Bruno, both very intelligent dogs, easy to manage and clearly well trained. Daina left us instruction for their feed routine which was easy too. They joined us on our walks between the rainy days and we were rewarded with lots of cuddles and often face licks. The other duties involved watering indoor plants and looking after their 18 chickens, they were no trouble; and the hens laid enough eggs to keep us in eggs during our stay. I can highly recommend this sit to anyone looking for a country getaway.
