It was a joy to house/petsit for Louise and Owen! Simply the best. They have a lovely, comfortable and cosy house, with a beautiful garden and, during our stay, a nice view at all the sheep. We were travelling towards them from Greece in our own car. On our way there we already had nice contact. We informed each other through whatsapp about our journey and they sent us pictures and information about Molly, Sid en Sr. Mary. Also after arriving in Morray, whilst Louise and Owen were on holiday, we kept in contact to keep them informed. We arrived two days before their holiday started and they prepared us a warm welcome. They gave us lots of tips on which places to visit in the area. We had a relaxed two days together. This gave us enough time to get all the necessary information about the house and to learn the routines with Molly, Sid and Sr. Mary. Molly, Sid en Sr. Mary are the best part of this house sit. The dogs are in very good condition, have a lot of energy, like to play endlessly with a ball, are friendly to other people and they are good off-lead. We took them on nice long walks directly from the house. They also liked to come along in our car, each in their own bunk. Every time we stopped there was a new forest for us and for them to explore, to sniff, to run and to have a good time. Both Molly and Sid like company and they are very affectionate. In the evening they loved to snore at our feet in front of the wood stove. Sr. Mary, the cat, had her own routine, asking for food, cuddles, sharpening her claws on our ankles and doing secret cat-things in the garden. They are all super sweet! Louise and Owen had to return from their holiday after 6 weeks, due to Covid. By then, for us, it wasn’t possible to leave the area anymore due to the travel restrictions. So from March till July Owen and Louise hosted us in their comfortable wooden cottage in their garden. Luckily the cottage had a wood stove too. We’ve then tried to help with some ongoing projects, painting the cottage, solve some water pump problems and so on. We also shared our bakery experiments, shared some recipes and had good conversations. Spending the first Covid-lockdown in Scotland with Louise and Owen was absolutely the best thing which could have happened to us. Warm loving people who let us stay and all this at walking distance to Roseisle Beach. Simply the best. Roseisle beach is a seven mile stretch of beach, dunes and woods between Findhorn and Burghead. We’ve endlessly roamed these woods and the beach and it was never boring! We absolutely loved our time at Louise and Owen’s place. We can highly recommend them as hosts!
Hannah was a really great communicator and such a bright bubbly person. I felt immediately welcomed and hosted well. The location is perfect, quiet yet close to everything. Ruby her cat was such a gem! Super soft, playful, warm, and very friendly. We got along instantly and my stay was so relaxing and fun!
