Amanda and Chris were superstar hosts. After a stretch of turning down housesit assignments because something just didn't feel right, we came across the couple's listing in Hvar and everything clicked. They welcomed us into their home with open arms, instantly made us feel comfortable and shared plenty of helpful tips for exploring Stari Grad. They even introduced us to friends! The home, located within the old town, is exquisitely designed and decorated. Waking up there and throwing open the shutters to take in the day was a joy. Any sitters should definitely be ready, and enthusiastic about, stair climbing. It's great exercise! :-) We loved listening to music - they have killer playlists - while cooking in their well-equipped kitchen, then snuggling with the couple's five cats (4 cats, 1 adorable kitten). The cats each have very distinctive personalities and each is a character in his/her own way. They were highly sociable - not a shy or disagreeable one in the bunch - and super easy to care for! We highly recommend this sit and know you will enjoy getting to know Chris and Amanda, along with Marmalade, Dave, Miss Anne, Nigel, and baby Coco, and discovering beautiful Stari Grad. Go for it! :-)
I absolutely adored taking care of Marvin and Cosmo! Marv was a bit skittish at the beginning (which Carolynne informed me about when we met before the sit), but thankfully she needed relatively short time to warm up to me, and by the fourth night she was the cudliest cutie pie sleeping with me 😊 Cosmo is a very cheeky gentleman, who will pick his moment to socialise - and these moments were usually showers 😂 I'm still amazed by how one can raise a cat which is friendly with birds, as Cosmo was absolutely free to fly around the house and Marvin just didn't care 😁 Carolynne is an amazing and kind person, she left the house spotless for my arrival, and even with huge time difference she was responding to my messages almost straight away! She has a beautiful home, very well located with train station just 6 mins walk away, and most importantly with the best fur/feathery gang in Melbourne! I felt welcomed, like home and became friends with all inhabitants 😊 I'll always cherish the bond we established with Marv and Cosmo, thank you Carolynne for this delightful experience, and hope to see you all soon!
I had a very nice stay at Adrea’s. The space is great, and there are lots of beautiful trails nearby to explore, plus plenty to do within walking distance. Maui is a super sweet and lovable dog. Adrea is helpful and communicative, and she left clear instructions. I’d recommend this sit!
Ella, Sam and Toby were such a delight to house/pet sit for!! The flat is so warm and cosy in such a great area and communication throughout was great. Toby is super easy going and always up for a play! Highly recommend sitting for them!

It was such great fortune that we found someone like Anna who loves and understands cats to look after our three when we went away for a week. It was the first time we leave them since we added Luna to our household, so we were worried that there would be issues; but thankfully we were genuinely reassured by Anna’s continuous updates and experience. We felt they were in very safe hands. When we came back we also had a very good session with Anna to ensure we’re giving the kitties the best environment to relax and thrive. Anna provides an excellent service; she clearly has a real love and knowledge for all things feline - and is very security conscious. One of our cats needs medication which Anna administered daily, as well as sending us photos and updates. We’ve returned home to two very happy cats!
Anna looked after my 2 rabbits, whilst I was away for 2 weeks - especially after Covid I was bit nervous for leaving them for so long & wanted to find the right person. Straight away Anna started to gain their trust and they were happy to interact with her, which is quite unusual for rabbits when they don’t know you. Throughout the time I was away Anna sent me very cute photos and updates and went above and beyond with their care. I can tell Anna truly cares about the animals she is looking after and I would definitely recommend her for anyone looking for a pet sitter 🌟
First time using a cat sitter and Anna was all we could have hoped for. Her communication was frequent and excellent, and she took better photos of our cat than we could have! Really gave us peace of mind that our cat was staying happy and healthy, well fed and watered (especially as there was a heatwave) while we were away. I would be happy to use Anna's services again.

ActivePaws is not a kennels- far from it. It’s a home from home for precious pets. I would not leave my dog anywhere else. Louise and David are professional and knowledgeable and take pet care to a new level. It’s absolutely unique!
Olive absolutely loves going to Active Paws both for daycare and overnight visits. It gives us such peace of mind to know she’s so well looked after and so happy there, it really is a wonderful and caring place.
My dog Waffles has been attending Active Paws since he was 4 months old and nearly 4 years on he loves it as much as he did the very first day. When he was a small puppy, David and Louise ensured he was integrated gently and gave extra time and attention, even sending us lovely email updates. He now looks forward to his weekly slot and also attends for boarding when we're away too. Active Paws has great space and a wonderful team including Tania, Nicky and Sophie who send us photos via Whatsapp of the dogs playing. I'd thoroughly recommend for you dogs.
Poppy has been going to Active Paws for over 2 years. Not only do they have amazing grounds for the dogs to play and rest, the whole team are amazing – so friendly and they send regular photo’s which is a lovely touch. Both David and Louise have been extremely helpful with accommodating last minute bookings, answering emails immediately (even when on holiday!) and have always offered great dog advice when needed. The whole team have always gone above and beyond. Poppy always return home shattered after a fun day at day care.
The team at Active Paws are fantastic. They take time to ensure that dogs are suitably matched in groups and don’t let large groups of dogs run riot. Our standard poodle has settled into the routine and lovely facilities - we can tell from the pictures he has a great time. I highly recommend the team at active paws if you are looking for a daycare!
The team at Active Paws are wonderful and very friendly, our dog is looked after very well and is always happy to be dropped off. The regular updates show that he is getting lots of care and having a fun time with the other dogs. Lottie has been going to Active Paws for nearly 3 years now. Lottie has an enormous, insuppressible amount of energy. Even at 7am David, Louise and team greet her with just as much enthusiasm as she shows them. David and Louise have saved me many times with last minute requests for dog care and Lottie has spent many holidays there. It is very much her second home and the team love her just as much as we do (possibly even more!) We couldn't manage life without Active Paws and days there are definitely the highlight of Lottie's life. Thank you!
My dog has been going to active paws for 5 years for dog boarding when we are away. She is always really happy there with plenty of space to run around in the fields as well as walks in the woods and ball chasing. Its great that there are a limited number of dogs each time and they sleep in homely surroundings in the kitchen and side room. We are updated regularly with videos and photos. I can't imagine a better place for her to stay.
My cockapoo Ramsay has been going to Active Paws twice a week. for just over a year now, since he was 6 months old. He can’t wait to get in each time we pull up and often wants to stay for a few more cuddles at home time. The staff are amazing and I feel at ease dropping him off for the day without having to worry he will be ok. I really enjoy seeing the pictures they send through of him and his lookalike bestie having fun. Would definitely recommend.
We have used this cattery several times and have always been pleased with how they look after our cat. The cattery is a separate building away from the dogs and each cat has their own room which has a window, a basket and toys to keep them occupied. The owners also groom the cats as our one which has a lot of hair always comes out well brushed.
I am about to put our cats there later this year. They look after both very well. Very polite. There is an area for the dogs to run around and safe within their grounds. The cats get let out every day and both get cuddles if the pets like it. They encourage you if you want to bring some things for familiarity but not if you don't want. Just great all round.
We left our cat here for the first time over the Easter weekend. It seems to be a kennels with a few cattery pens added. While he was looked after perfectly well I wasn't impressed by the fact that I wasn't allowed to settle my (older) cat into his pen myself, which would have taken all of five minutes and is something any other cattery I've ever used has done automatically. I was told they were too busy, even when I asked a second time. So I was obliged to leave him in his carrier in their outside office. This was not a good experience as an owner leaving a pet for the first time and got me wondering if his pen was even ready for him.
I've used Acorn a few times for my dog. Very happy with the service, especially now they offer "wash and blow dry" before she comes out

I had a very unique request to trim my long haired guinea pig. They were very willing to take on a non canine customer and handled her brilliantly. She is now beautifully trimmed to a much more manageable length, resulting in less tangles during her daily brushing. Couldn’t recommend enough and I will definitely be taking her back there.
We have been bringing Luna to Melanie at Jordans Pet Spa since we got her as a puppy and, five years on, wouldn’t even consider taking her anywhere else. As a rescue dog from Spain, Luna needed extra special attention and care to introduce her to grooming. I needn’t have worried - Melanie was fantastic with Luna from the outset, giving her a special puppy pampering session and allowing her to feel happy, comfortable and familiar with her surroundings and her grooming. Since that first session, Luna is always so excited to go to her regular spa visits and always comes out looking and smelling fabulous! I don’t know how Melanie does it as Luna is a highly excitable, high energy bundle of enthusiasm but somehow Melanie works her professional magic and Luna comes out happy and gorgeous! I can highly and wholeheartedly recommend Melanie and the Jordans Pet Spa for anyone looking for the best for their dog - not only is the service friendly, personal and professional but the setting is also simply perfect.

Our 10 month old cocker spaniel, Monty had his first groom with Melanie. He loved it and they did such a fab job, we’ll definitely be back.
After trying a few local groomers, I have been taking my cockerpoo to Melanie for 6 years and would never go anywhere else! Mel and her team are amazing, very experienced and knowledgable. My dog is quite nervous but is always happy to go to Jordans Pet Spa and comes out looking smart and very well groomed. Highly recommended.
Having 3 miniature poodles we have been to a few groomers over the years. My dogs have usually come out looking quite smart BUT..... missing that special poodle something. One of my boys is quite wonderful and can look like he's ready for Crufts when he is groomed properly and I'd been missing that look. A friend suggested that I try Jordan's Pet Spa where her spaniels had the best groom they'd ever had. Looking on the website I came across an image of a beautifully groomed POODLE. I'd found a groomer who knew how to do poodles. We've been regular clients of Melanie and Rhian and I couldn't be more pleased. The dogs' faces and feet are beautifully clipped and their topknots and tails are correctly shaped. Equally as important, Melanie and Rhian clearly love dogs. They are always happy to see us and they are calm, kind and have endless patience. The natural environment and space is also reassuring for the dogs who trot off happily for their grooming session. I pay a little more for these lovely groomers and travel a bit further but it is well worth it. When Melanie comes out with my immaculate poodles they have a little bow attached to their collars. I have spotted a few lucky dogs with their bow and always mention that I recognise a Jordan's groom. Everyone always says the same and what a fabulous groomer Melanie is. Dougie, Fergie and Maisie agree!!!
My labradoodle has visited Jordans Pet Spa regularly for over four years. He is always very happy to be dropped off, and comes out looking and smelling great. The service and attention to detail from Melanie and her team is excellent.
We've been talking our goldendoodle to the Jordans Pet Spa for 5 years now. They are quite simply the best dog groomers in the area. Whiskey always gets a good cut at a reasonable price, and we can be confident she is in good hands. Would recommend.
Laura provides a wonderful home from home for our little fluffy family members. Dogs are given lots of attention and love. Laura’s experience and knowledge means that I would never worry and can enjoy time away without wondering if my little ones are ok.
My little Shih Tzu has been going to Laura for a year now and he loves it. Laura loves each pup she looks after as though they're her own and it's a huge relief to be able to leave him somewhere we know he will be safe and happy. The pups seem to have free reign of the house and garden which they all love. I've only ever seen happy little dogs at the gate when I pick up or drop off mine.
Laura has been just so fantastic to deal with and accommodating. My old girl has thoroughly enjoyed her time with Lauras Little Lodgers. Thank you Laura. I felt so safe leaving Twinkle in your care, and your sweet garden and home was so well secured for her tiny size. With a little doggy gate at the front door for extra security. Twinkle is flying back to New Zealand this month so had her last stay with Laura which we are very sad about. You have been such a blessing to Twinkle and I, you will be missed, Thank you. It was so heart warming to see Twinkle sprint to your front door and paw at it to reach you each time. ty ty ty
Laura has been looking after my dog for nearly 6 years when I go on holiday. Wonderful home from home boarding, where I know that he is safe and cared for . He is always excited and happy to return to see Laura, and play with her other little lodgers.

Tony is amazing he really helped me with kobe my puppy, with off the lead training, Tony is very kind and understanding, and with his experience and advice, nothing is too much trouble, my pup really loves him and he was so responsive to Tony and loving every minute of his training..he's great with the owners and their dogs giving great understanding and help to make dogs and owners happy..thankyou Tony.
Highly recommend! Tony was looking after my cat Gumball, and the whole experience was fantastic. He was extremely professional and flexible, I was getting daily pictures and video updates. There was no problems doing small adjustments in food portions etc. He also did one of my now favourite pics of my derpy cat 😂 overall strongly recommend:)
Wow finding someone to help look after our little dog (Prince) when we are away the same way we do was so worrying but Tony is like the horse whisperer (but for dogs) not sure how but Tony managed to calm a working cocker spaniel, feeling so much better about our next trip away without our beloved pet dog.
Tony recently provided some training for my golden retriever Snowy who is reactive on lead. Tony was very patient, explained everything so well, gave some great insights into canine behaviour & made the training feel easy to follow & understandable. I would highly recommend Tony for any pet training you may need.
Tony has been so helpful throughout our training and he is always available to talk and give tips on training and progress. He regularly checks in with us to see how our boy is doing too. It’s clear that he really cares about the animals and wants the best for them.

Tony and Savina are amazing pet parents to my dogs. They look after my rescue dogs and my puppies who have grown into lovely young adults. They care deeply for each of them, understand their personalities and in return, they are very much loved by each one of them. I recommend them for day care and boarding. Dogs are truly happy with them!
I had contacted Tony for help with walking and with discipline for my Beagle. Tony has been amazing and very caring. After going with the training Max no longer pulls on his lead. I would really recommend using Tony as this had really made our lives easier!

Amanda is a true animal lover and she walked my dogs daily up until lockdown when I started working from home. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her Dogwalking services. She also looked after our cat on occasions and had my cocker spaniel to stay overnight on more than one occasion.

My dogs have been staying here on and off for many years and I can highly recommend Pipwood, my dogs love it here. When I collect them they are always happy and in top condition.
The staff here are AMAZING with the animals, true pet lovers. No matter what the weather the staff are always smiling and welcoming. Our dogs have stayed here many times over the past 6 years and absolutely love it. When we open the boot of the car and they realise where they are they are really happy, and never look back when we say good bye. When we first called enquiring, we were told to visit whenever and we would see the staff doing what they do. No set up, no presence, and we knew our boys would be safe here and yes they get lots of cuddles. We are really happy leaving our boys here, don’t know what would do without the staff and kennels here. xx
Harley has stayed here several times. It always amazes me how all the staff know all the dogs. It's the only place where she comes out so happy, giving affection to us for collecting her but importantly it's lovely to see how she interacts with the staff who clearly invest a lot of time while we're away and make a fuss. Couldn't recommend Pipwood highly enough!
Found this kennel for my baby doggo. And I must say he was extremely happy staying there. The owner is just amazing and the service outstanding. I really recommend this kennel. As I have looked at quite a few in the area and this is the best. Kennels are spacious and clean. And the price way better that other Kennels. Cant recommend it enough
We love Pipwood! After visiting lots of kennels in our search we came across Pipwood. We loved the warm and friendly atmosphere and all the animals looked happy and well looked after. We have been taking our one year old Bassett Hound, Phoebe there since she was six months old and they treat her as if she were family. When we arrive at Pipwood Phoebe cannot wait to get out of the car and runs straight in! It is such a relief to know she is happy while we are away.
I first used Pipwood Kennels ten year sa go looking after my dog. They even offered to care for him when he'd had unexpected surgery prior to a family holiday. Sadly the dog is no longer with us but I take my cat there. The staff welcome him like one of their own; always ask his meal preference; clearly they give him a cuddle on occasions too! he is a white and ginger cat and is always spotlessly clean when I collect him.
Very unclear charges for my two dogs to go in for just ‘ONE’ night and in the same kennel together. Ended up paying £80.00, total rip off! Ensure cost price fully before leaving your animals there as this kennels as staff member stated is a day home and your charged by the day.
Before we booked here, we stopped by to visit. They asked us not to let them know when we were coming so we could see how it was without any preparation for guests. I really liked that to start with. When we dropped Ruby off she was so excited she didn't even acknowledge my husband or 'say goodbye' as he put it. We just picked her up today after nearly 2 weeks with Pipwood and they all knew her by name and all had something lovely to say about her. So I know they're all properly invested in each and every animal. They also reduced her food as they noticed she was putting on a little weight since she was getting less exercise than normal (she's an 8 month old lab and needs hours of exercise at home) so I thought that was such a good indication of how much attention they pay to each and every animal. Ruby is actually a little down right now, missing her friends at Pipwood. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend and we'll be back again.
We have been using pipwood for a few years now and it is absolutely brilliant. Our doggy Berrie loves going there and is always so happy as we are nearing the kennels and she realises where she is going, that says it all. She is very well looked after and spoiled by everyone that I almost feel guilty when I pick her up! Please don't be put off by the bad reviews on this sight, it's just that people don't read the opening times and rules that are clearly stated.
Excellent boarding kennels. Looked after my dog whilst I was away. She was poorly at the time and the staff looked after her as if she was at home, providing much needed reassurance and good quality care. Very happy to recommend them.
