Maurizio
Maurizio and Jen are some of the nicest people I've met. They welcomed me warmly into their beautiful home and I was treated like a queen throughout my stay. They gave me all the information about the house and area that I needed for my stay and were easily reached via WhatsApp for updates and questions. Their home is in a quiet area that is close to shops, groceries and restaurants and an easy bus ride into downtown.
And, of course, there's James. He's the sweetest, funniest and most adorable dog! He loves going for walks, hanging out at his favourite dog park, playing fetch, and most of all FOOD! He'll do anything for a treat, and will be your best friend while you're cooking or eating, but never to the point of being intrusive. And at the end of the day, he's happy to curl up on the couch or oversee his territory on the back porch and protect you from all the evil squirrels.
I enjoyed my stay immensely and would love to return to sit for James!

Atavia
Pet: Poppy is a very adorable cat and was a pleasure to care for.

Location: The location is conveniently located. A 10 minute walk to two large supermarkets. 20 minute walk to the train station. 10 minutes to buses. 15 minutes to Pudsey township.

Pre-sit: Atavia kindly picked me up from the station. Pet care instructions were clear, although our meeting was rushed as she was short on time.

Home: The flat was dark and dimly lit when I arrived in the night, I slept soon after Atavia left and it wasn't until the morning that I saw the place properly.

Unfortunately, it was very unclean. After waking, I washed dishes, put away dishes on the drying rack, threw out a pile of tea bags and a broccoli that was going moldy, emptied the kitchen and bathroom bins, removed and put away Atavia's clothes from the drying rack before it could be used, emptied the vacuum bag before it could be used, vacuumed the flat, defluffed the cushions of cat fur, cleared up a pile of burnt incense ash, and tried to clean the toilet but the scrubber isn't long enough.

I generally expect and find it respectful to arrive to a clean space when sitting, unless for some reason this isn't possible and is made clear beforehand. I communicated this to Atavia during the sit and her response was "good to know".
I brought it up again at the end of the sit as I felt it important and unresolved. Unfortunately, Atavia insisted the flat was cleaned before I arrived and apologised that I "felt" it wasn't.

Sadly, this aspect and how it was handled when brought up, made this sit an overall negative experience.

There was also wallpaper half torn off, walls half tiled, paint splatters throughout the flat, and tins of paint in most rooms. I think it reasonable that owners communicate if renovations are underway and if the listing photos do not accurately portray the current house/flat.

James & Kristieanna
I absolutely adored Frances & William! They are the most gorgeous animals and were so well behaved. I miss them already!! Kristie left very detailed instructions and the sit went smoothly. Would be happy to sit again in the future. The location is in a spectacular area of Lincoln Square & right near Central Park.
