Caring for the pair of siblings was a delight. They were curious about everything I did, and patrolled the floors and countertops to make sure I was doing it properly. Their baldness makes them seek warmth (according to Wikipedia) and certainly these two were fond of curling up under the duvet, or on my lap while watching telly. The flat is a modern treat; the main room has windows on *five* sides (including the skylight). The kitchen is well-equipped and the bed is comfortable. Silvia was clear and straight-forward to deal with. After our first video call, she invited me over to meet her and the cats, and we ended up chatting for a couple of hours. I sent photos and updates most days, and she responded promptly (allowing for the time difference) to any queries I had,. Recommended.
Helen, Mike and Gaston live in a beautiful home in a quiet Commune surrounded by woodlands and lakes. Plenty of walks in the area for Gaston to enjoy and he certainly loves a ball game involving a swim! We were made to feel very welcome and were given a comprehensive tour of the house and facilities which always makes life easier after the owners have departed. Some great history and pretty towns in the area to visit. What can we say about Gaston? Absolutely gorgeous and loving dog but also exceptionally well trained. This makes taking him to dog friendly restaurants and tourist attractions a total pleasure. He enjoys watching the world go by out of the car windows as well. On Helen and Mike’s return from holiday we spent a very convivial evening with them and Gaston and left the next morning with very heavy hearts.
Sitting at Betti's place was definitively my best way of getting into TrustedHousesitters' world: it could not have been better as the first experience. I enjoyed the company of two beautiful beings (not cats, beings!) who made my days really pleasant and lovely. Ono and Alex have clear ways and they love to be loved (each on his way). Relate to them was not easy but natural, and we all got into our ways of communicating. Playing with them is the best, they are agile in different ways: Ono running and Alex with his hands. At the least expected moment, they will come for cuddling you, giving you a break from your "normal" activities... how not to love them! On the other hand, Betti's place is a beautiful place for staying, with lots of sun, fresh air and a wonderful atmosphere, I could live in a place like this forever, such a pleasure it is. Betti was very attentive with all my communications and helped me to understand better if I was doing things correctly. I really appreciated her opportunity and her beloved cats' company. I fully recommend Betti for sitting, you will certainly love it. Thank you Betti! Big hugs to Ono and Alex.
Jo & Jack have a beautiful house in a lovely setting. They made us feel very welcome, and had full use of the house & rather generously their paddle boards too. Callie was adorable & loved to be near you, have her belly rubbed and snuggle! She's great with kids, and was so easy going. She was no trouble overnight and slept downstairs. She likes to guard her house so did bark when we came in. She can also be vocal towards other dogs on her walk. But she was great on the lead, and didn't pull at all. She knows her own mind, so when she's had enough you might need to carry her occasionally, but given her size it was manageable. Plus she used the opportunity to have another snuggle with you! We loved spending time with Callie, and in the lovely house and large garden. It's ideally placed for walks along the canal. Communication was excellent with Jo & Jack. We received our welcome pack a few days ahead of our stay, and it was very detailed. They were very responsive to messages too. The house was left lovely & clean too. All in all a great stay.
Wendy and David were a delight to deal with and their lovely animals, Percy, Millie, Bella, George and the chickens were all so fun to look after. They have a beautiful home and the pets personalities are equally as beautiful. Wendy kept in touch regularly and if we had any questions during our sit she was quick to respond. They were very organised with all of the food preparation for the entire house sit and had a helpful binder with everything we needed to know about all of the animals and routines around the house. Overall we had the best time house sitting for them, and fell in love with all the animals 🥰 We very much look forward to house sitting for Wendy and David again!
Mom and I Loved sitting for beautiful Brie and meeting Tom & Cheryl, two wonderful people! Tom’s blueberry scones were amazing and home absolutely lovely. Brie captured our hearts (we renamed Smiley “Slimey” lol!) and loves to play nonstop! Looking forward to next time!
