Living in a small French village was a wonderful experience. Loved the area, the house and the dogs. Lots of places to rate the dogs for walks and a great location to explore the area. Excellent communication and friendly hosts. Would definitely recommend.
Taking care of Miso was an absolute joy—she's an easy-going cuttee and loves to cuddle. David is a wonderful host, always there with quick responses and helpful guidance. His sweet offer of a ride home reflects the thoughtful person he is. One of the most considerate pet owners.
Catniss is a super sweet senior cat! She spent most of her days curled up by the fireplace, and occasionally wanted to be let out onto the porch even in the cold winter weather. Michael was communicative and left us detailed written instructions for cat care and miscellaneous house things which I greatly appreciated. We were told Catniss can be a picky eater, but luckily she ate most of the food we put out while we were there. Beyond typical cat care duties, she does require an oral medication (at the time of our stay), and daily teeth brushing. She was pretty compliant for both of these, and it was overall smooth and easy to care for her! Michael and his wife have a lovely home in the Alameda neighborhood. Their home is in a residential area, but it is walkable to some nearby cafes and restaurants, and accessible by public transport to other neighborhoods of Portland.
I loved sitting Daryl’s three pets! The kitties are adorable and a little wild - watch out when you open a door! They want to run out. Chive absolutely loves to cuddle on your lap. And Socks is a sweet older boy who loves to go on short walks and take naps on the floor wherever you are. Daryl left very clear instructions and was available if I needed anything. I felt so comfortable in her home! Would definitely return in the future.
House sitting for Silvia was a pleasure! Chai, Silvia's affectionate dog, was a gentle companion during my stay. His preference for human company and gentle nature were heartening, whether we were taking a leisurely stroll or enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Silvia's home is a stunning spacious villa, surrounded by a serene garden that feels like a hidden oasis. The large pool, perfect for a refreshing swim under the Mediterranean sun, added to the pleasant atmosphere. Nestled in Roquefort-les-Pins, the village offers all the necessary amenities, with convenient access to Antibes, Cannes, and Nice. Overall, my time at Silvia's was great. I appreciated the opportunity to care for her home and Chai, and I would be happy to return. Silvia was a wonderful host, easy to communicate with and accommodating throughout my stay. I would recommend her place for anyone seeking a pleasant house sitting experience in the French Riviera.
