Angie and her family have a beautiful home on a quiet street with a nearby trail. They were welcoming and friendly and well-prepared with clear instructions. Reese (dog) will steal your heart!
I had a wonderful experience in Switzerland, taking care of the sweet Tali. Tali is very calm, well-behaved, and loves companionship. It was a pleasure spending some days with him! Jenny and Geraint are incredibly welcoming and friendly, making me feel right at home from the start. Their home is beautiful and located in a fantastic area, perfect for visiting Lake Geneva. Thank you for having me!
That the house was a converted church and that it was near the village of Castle Combe was why I applied for the sit. I'd wanted to go to Castle Combe since I saw it on Instagram. Spending time with Tessy in the chilled environment, made the stay feel homely. Fiona and Declan were lovely too and made sure I had some food for my stay. Fiona picked me up and dropped me off from the relevant stations and was in good contact on WhatsApp. I enjoyed taking Tessy to the pubs and on the bus. She was easy to care for even if she did worry me when she ate a giant slug and I Googled and learned about Lugworm!
Laura and her family welcomed me in their home like one more of the family. They were super generous and always available if I needed anything. And they even let me stay with them for a few extra days making me feel as if it was at my own home. Luna was at first a bit tentative, but after allowing her for a bit of space she warmed up and became my unconditional companion. She is really sweet and quite obedient, except if she gets frightened. Once, she got scared by a loud sound of a car passing, and she tried to run into the road. Thankfully, I had the lease short enough so the car didn't run her over. So, I advice when walking in the pathway not to give her too much lease in case she is suddenly frightened. Other than that, she will be your most faithful sidekick. Shaggy is the most loving and sociable cat you can imagine... for the 30 minutes a day that he is at home. He spends most of the days and nights exploring the area. He loves his 5 minutes of brushing while he eats and bit, purring of happiness as you brush him... and off he goes again into the wild for his adventures. The chickens required barely anything other than opening a door in the morning and closing at night, adding some water and giving a scoop of food. Maximum 5 mins/day. And they rewarded me every day with eggs, plural. The house is big, and it has everything you need including a very big and lovely garden. The village is quite endearing, with a train station, supermarkets... and lots and lots of countryside to walk around. I'm super thankful and I hope to see everyone again soon!
It was a pleasure to sit for Tess and Paul. Their apartment has a lovely view - the best! Diego, Penny and Pickle are so well trained. Great listeners and super sweet. Lots of cuddles and Pickle will encourage you to throw the ball! Great experience - Tess is a great communicator and gives detailed instructions. Perfect!
Ayan and Chris were incredibly welcoming and made me feel at home from the start. They communicated everything really well and answered all my questions quickly. Brian, Syrah and Rodney all have such distinct personalities. They were a joy to stay with for three weeks! You won’t have a chance to feel lonely with this lot lol. Ayan took great care to make sure I was comfortable and capable doing Syrah’s insulin shots and left me with some handy videos. The chalet is cosy and warm, and has a fantastic view of the mountains. It’s also a short walk to the train station so getting around without a car was very easy. Thank you so much for having me, and it was a pleasure to get to know you Ayan and Chris!
