Elaine & Ben
Housesitting for Elaine, Ben and Logan was an amazing experience! They offered to pick us up and they cooked a delicious meal for us. They made us feel at home from the moment we stepped foot in their home. They live in a beautiful house which was very clean, tidy and had all the amenities to make yourself at home. The location was also very convenient, close to supermarkets, the beach and nice walks around the neighbourhood area.

Max and Dora were so lovely, sweet and well behaved, which made taking care of them very easy, they were also very well trained which made it even easier. Giving Max his medication was very straightforward; walking, feeding and cuddling them every day was a breeze.

The communication was clear from beginning to end, they left everything well documented and their 'Welcome Guide' was the best and most detailed we've had so far.

A massive thank you for such a wonderful experience, we would love to come back and housesit for you. Enjoy the arepas!

Sharon
A wonderful sit.

Sharon is a brilliant communicator, which makes everything so much more straightforward. The house is lovely - comfortable and with everything you need. Ulverston and the surrounding area is a real treat to explore.

And Finn -- a black lab unlike any other --  is a whole experience! Let us explain because he isn't your standard black lab, all chill and borderline lazy, Finn has the energy of a hundred black labs!...

So choose this sit knowing that Finn loves being active, loves being outside, and loves company when in the house. He has a very sweet temperament, really charming, and about the most mischievous thing he does is look at you, gently steal a sock from your shoe, and then run out to lie with it on the front lawn (he doesn't even destroy the sock, he's just playing). Oh, he does snaffle foods from the countertops if left out (he's super long-legged so it's barely a stretch for him), but that's easily solved, by not leaving out food (i'm still mourning half my cheese sandwich!). Sharon warned us that he can snaffle foods out and about, too, like picnics, so we never took him near people eating outdoors and it was never a problem for us.

Finn also has a second 'setting' when outdoors, and this is "ball-or-stick mode". He loses his sweet mind. But it's ok, as long as you're prepared. He loves sticks, but he loves balls more. He can fit three tennis balls in his mouth! Because he loses his mind, he doesn't pay attention to what lies between the ball/stick and his mouth... so, your hands. He's not trying to bite you, he just wants the ball or stick. So just be on guard when picking up a ball/stick that he's not about to lunge for it. A tap on the top of his collar reminds him how to drop his favourite things (balls/sticks)! We ended up always taking out two balls and a kong, because he can't fit all those things in his mouth, so it sort of bamboozles him into dropping some. And it meant if he nicked another dog's ball, we could use the kong to get him to drop it all.

Exploring with Finn is brilliant. He never goes far and always comes right back if called. He doesn't care about or play with other dogs. He doesn't chase anything (apart from balls/sticks), and he doesn't bark at humans. I mean, in a month, he barked maybe three times and I think it surprised him as much as it did us. He also loves swimming. Loads. So all the beautiful beaches and tarns were extra fun, having Finn chase balls/sticks into the water.

We had a great time. And we would wholeheartedly recommend this sit -- but only if you are prepared to be fully active with him, and fully aware of his "ball/stick mode". He is the sweetest dog, and we definitely miss him. Thanks for choosing us Sharon!

Had a great time at Jake's in SF! Taco and Belle are really sweet and always having you laughing. Jake was clear from the get-go about having to walk them separately, some of the training he wanted to be done on walks, and Taco's aversion to dogs, so I had no surprises! His apartment is great - comfy queen bed, a well set up desk area, and a nice living room for eating and watching some TV. Best of all though is the backyard! I spent a lot of afternoons chilling in the hammock and letting the dogs run around and have fun in the sun :)
