We had a lovely stay in this beautiful thatched cottage with Dylan and Floyd. The house and garden were amazing and it was a privilege to be there. I had a very enjoyable weekend pet sitting Will and Win. Melinda was a wonderful host and her home in Annandale is very comfortable. The townhouse is in a small, quiet community close to both Alexandria and Washington, D.C. There is a big grassy area behind the home which made it very easy to take Will out for a short walk or bathroom break. I also worked comfortably from the dining table and the internet service was fast. Will and Win were a lot of fun and easy to look after. Will is truly a wonder dog. He has mobility issues but that doesn’t deter him from going outside or laying beside you on the sofa. He needed a little help getting up the front stairs (or onto the sofa) but otherwise he was just fine. Will’s favorite thing to do is lay in the sun. Sometimes it took a little encouraging to get him back into the house but overall it was not an issue. Win is a beautiful ragdoll and warmed up to me very quickly. She loved playing with her bird toy and cuddling next to me on the sofa. Both Will and Win have very easy to follow eating regimes. Both are grazers, so it was just important to have food in both their bowls at all times. Win has a very fancy self-cleaning litter box that made looking after her a breeze. Communication with Melinda was great, and I hope I get the opportunity to pet sit for her again in the future (hopefully when the weather is warmer!).
Gigi is the most adorable dog to take care of, very easy, chilled and affectionate. Communication with Lisa was also great and her home was so lovely. We loved staying here and would not hesitate to do another sit 🙂
