This housesit was perfect for us. We had good communication with Caroline before the sit, with easy to follow directions to the rural property. We arrived the day before they left for their holiday. We received a very warm welcome and they had a detailed manual printed for us. We also had a detailed and useful orientation to the property. Caroline and Seamus are experienced hosts and seemed very relaxed and have good neighbours. We were also able to stay in contact throughout the sit, which was comforting. We only had the cats and poultry to look after, as they decided to take their dog with them. Still, we had a straightforward morning and afternoon/ evening routine to follow for the animals and the gardens. The cats were fine and they managed us very well! Putting the geese away at night was so funny, as they always complained, but then sorted themselves out into their two stables! The gardens are quite extensive and for us in August, they were remarkably productive. We had heaps of fresh eggs, fruit and veggies during our stay. We were able to use two very well maintained bicycles and the immediate area is perfect to explore on two wheels. Nearby, and in all directions, are some excellent historical sites, gardens, picturesque villages and stunning rural landscape. Just relaxing on the property is also wonderful. Sitters really need their own car and this allows more exploration. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting Caroline and Seamus, thank them for this wonderful housesit experience and we wholeheartedly recommend it to others.
We had a wonderful time caring for Coco this past week. She is the sweetest dog, so so loving and so much fun! Claire's house is such a beautiful and comfortable home and the family made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The house is in a very nice area with lots of lovely parks close by, which made our walks very enjoyable. Coco is so well behaved, and just has the most loving nature! Claire was great to deal with and the communication was fantastic - there was a slight hiccup with the beginning of their trip due to a cyclone heading towards their initial location, however Claire kept me constantly updated and was flexible and still super organised despite their change of plans. We will miss Coco lots (my daughter definitely had some tears upon leaving!) Absolutely recommend this housesit to anyone that has the opportunity in the future. Thanks again guys!!
We really enjoyed our time during the sit with Albert. The Apartment was cozy and clean. It is near to the ocean with nice walks and a bicycle path. Albert is a lovely cat who likes to stay on your lap. Alison and Frank were so kind and taught us the process how to give the medicine for Albert. We totally recommend the sit!
Bub was a friendly and easy cat to care for. Patty and Bruce were very communicative and made the entire process seamless. Their home was lovely and offered the perfect base location to go out and adventure the Portland area, with great work from home space and outdoor amenities. Would sit for them again in a heartbeat!
I really enjoyed my stay at Sarah's home in Kendal, looking after Arlo, Otis and Cabbage - friendly cats with their own unique personalities. They were a joy to spend time with and they kept me company, too. Sarah's house felt like a home away from home and was well situated to get into Kendal, as well as catch buses to different parts of the Lake District. Sarah was really accommodating, offering suggestions on places to visit and always happy to receive questions at any time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this sit to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Cumbria with three lovely cats.
Misha is sweet dog who needs time and space to become acquainted. She was no trouble at all to look after as she lives outside and just needed feeding morning and evening. After a couple of days, she had grown accustomed to me and would venture into the house when her meals were being prepared. She would also do a performance at the door as part of this, which involved dancing and howling. On the final day, as if to say thanks and as a mark of validation, she gave me one quick lick of the hand as I was mixing her food, which was a very tender gesture. Mathieu’s house is comfortable and convenient for town. Communications were straightforward both leading up to and during the sit. I look forward to a repeat opportunity to look after both Misha and the house again.
