Housesitting for Donna, Doyle, and Skipper was a great experience of neighbors helping neighbors. It turned out that our neighborhood in Baltimore was only ten minutes away from theirs. Housesitting in one’s own community has many advantages. One was that we didn’t have to spend time orienting ourselves since we were already quite familiar with the area. After being selected for the housesit, Donna and Doyle graciously invited us over for a pre-sit visit. This allowed us to meet Skipper, an even-tempered and gentle poodle, in advance and have a tour of the house and yard. When we arrived several days later for the sit, he remembered us and greeted us warmly. Skipper is a minimal barker but had moments of high energy when playing fetch in the yard, welcoming you at the door, and at snack time. Often, he would sit quietly in a room with us while we were reading or having a meal. Skipper was an easy pet to care for. Each day he was given two meals and two medications. Outdoor time was generally spent in the backyard. He would sometimes let us know when he needed to go out. Skipper liked to stay close to home. Sometimes he would “call off” a morning walk by sitting down on the sidewalk. He was firm in his decision and more than happy to head back to his own yard. The house and yard were quite lovely. We spent considerable time in the mornings on the front or back porch, where we could enjoy the garden and foliage. Along with fresh herbs, there were plenty of tomatoes, okra, and peppers from the garden to add to our home-cooked meals. The house was equipped with a fast Wi-Fi connection and all standard modern conveniences to live comfortably. In sum, our time with Skipper was very pleasant. We were able to keep our regular schedule during our stay and have a friendly poodle to add excitement to our lives. We would love to help Donna and Doyle again if needed.
Andy, Sammy and Joey are a joy! Andy was very kind and made me feel right at home, cooking me dinner when I arrived and showing me around the place. Joey, the dog, is so adorable, we would go on walks and lie in the park across the street. Sammy is also so cute and affectionate. The apartment is across the street from a beautiful park and the waterfront with views of the Verazzano and the city. Definitely recommend this housesit!
It was a pleasure to sit Fizzgig for Kelly and her family and I would recommend it to anyone lucky enough to sit for them! Kelly is a wonderful host, very kind and friendly and made me feel at home right away. The house itself is beautiful - the care and level of detail put into it is evident throughout. The location is phenomenal, the gorgeous Highbury Fields are only a 5 minute walk away and tube/overground are located close by as well. Fizzgig is so adorable and such a good-natured dog. She truly loves spending time with people and I had so much fun playing with her in Highbury Fields. She was easy to look after and a delight to be around ❤️ Overall I had an amazing time. This is everything you could hope for in a sit and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone interested!
Great peaceful sit in a wonderful neighborhood! Joey was no problem at all and I got a lot of work done during my stay and enjoyed a few hikes and friends in the area. Sharon was very communicative and accommodating!
I had the best time with Fran. Fran is very well trained and so quiet, you don’t even feel that she’s at home with you. I really enjoyed her presence. She enjoys her walks outside. It’s very easy to take care of Fran. Amy’s and Scott’s place is very clean, organized and well equipped. They left me their place spotless. I also enjoyed the pool on the rooftop! I’d definitely housesit again for them and enjoy Fran’s presence.
I highly recommend taking care of Baxter if you get a chance. Kara and Baxter's home is comfortable, inviting, immaculately clean and well organized. We greatly enjoyed exploring the trails around Kara's place with Baxter showing us where he liked to go. He was also great fun to watch TV with since he attentively participated with animals on the screen. We look forward to a future return. Thanks Kara!
