Karen was one of the most organized sitters. She communicated regularly and did not hesitate to ask questions which we appreciated as it showed her concern for all of our animals. It was a lengthy sit of two weeks and she took amazing care of our home and animals. She was dedicated to making sure the dogs all had exercise and attention and successfully wrangled the goats even though she was sitting solo and had never tended to goats before. TH members would be very fortunate if Karen chooses their sits in the future, she is highly recommended!
Paige and John were a delight to have as sitters for my two cats. They settled in easily and the cats took to them quickly. The house was well cared for and left in great condition. I would be happy to have them back any time and I know Mia and Barrett feel the same way.
McKenzie and Patrick were wonderful. They were great communicators, took lots of photos and took great care of the dogs and house. They were able to be flexible with our schedule which we greatly appreciated. We would happily use them again for a sit.
I loved watching this clan. Sunny is a sweet dog and has no problem getting comfortable with you. She is quiet and well behaved but loves any attention you give her. She has a loving relationship with her cat siblings and they were very comical to watch. Edith and Pearl are sweet cats and have such amusing personalities. They literally lived in their baskets for most of the days or were watching the birds and snuggling with Sunny. Buddy is a shy boy but he won my heart. He enjoyed some snuggles by the 2nd day and felt more comfortable as the time passed. Lisa and Mathew were great hosts and left lots of instructions (not that there was much needed) and we're very easy to communicate with.
Another memorable pet-sitting experience goes into the books! Modbury is a charming village with various walking paths, traditional shops and friendly locals, and I'd be pleased to visit it again. The house is bright, spacious, comfortable, work-friendly, and perfectly positioned for scenic sunsets. Tess's pets love it as much as I did. But unlike the marketing campaigns by Trusted Housesitters that often emphasise the holiday aspect, Tess is serious about her pets' wellbeing. Prince, the kind-hearted blind cat, is easy to love and care for. Despite his disability, he navigates well using sound and memory, but he can be nerve-wracking to watch near roads. His feeding routine is straightforward, and he'll certainly let you know if you're late. Coco, the energetic and affectionate labrador, can be a handful on walks, as she pulls on the leash. An experienced, consistent, and physically strong pet sitter with clear boundaries and treats in pockets would be best. Coco also tends to greet everyone, which may not always be welcome, so I always asked if people were comfortable with her approaching. Pro tip: earplugs might be helpful as her bed squeaks! ;) The geckos added a unique twist with their live cricket diet, which may not be to everyone's taste (no pun intended). They are low-maintenance and interesting pets, just like the crickets, which I looked after for the first time. Tess is relatively new to the platform, so building trust and establishing clear and warm communication may take time. However, a deeper connection with Tess is possible; it just might take a bit longer to develop. She appreciated my feedback on her Welcome Guide, which will help set clear expectations. We discussed updating bin collection days, disclosing her outdoor recording device (as required by the Camera & Recording Devices Policy), and listing routines and accessories for all four pets. I'd also suggest mentioning some kitchen essentials (it took me a while to find the cutlery drawer) and clarifying the extent to which the pet sitter can help themselves to what's in the kitchen. Having developed a strong bond with Tess's pets and a good understanding of their needs, I'd be confident and excited to stay again. This sentiment is reinforced by her lovely neighbour, who noticed positive behavioural changes in Coco during my stay. Additionally, Tess's office setup and excellent bandwidth made it easy for me to stay productive while working from her home, which is always a welcomed bonus in a nomad's life!
10/10! Sarah's home was so cozy, and Fred was so fun to spend time with! His cute little personality has me missing him already. Fred was really easy to care for, easy on and off the leash, and loved to cuddle! He slept under my bed which was super cute. There is a gorgeous grassy beach park across the street from Sarah's home that was really enjoyable to walk every day. People in the park would recognize Fred - that was fun. Thank you Sarah for the opportunity to spend time with Fred. I'd love to stay with him again in the future!
We had the pleasure to housesit for Narelle and look after Portia and Bruce who were an absolute delight. The house is very comfortable in a quiet and safe neighbourhood. Portia is obedient, sweet and affectionate and loves her ball games. Bruce also loves attention and a lap to sit on. Both very easy to look after. Would definitely sit for Narelle again and would recommend this sit to others.
Denice and Werner made us feel very welcome right from the start. They were easy to communicate with, invited us round to show us the house and meet Molly and make sure we were fully comfortable. We had plenty of opportunity to settle in, ask any questions and make ourselves at home. They made the whole process very easy and enjoyable for us. We loved our time at their beautiful home in the great setting it is. Molly was great, very friendly personality and got very used to us throughout our stay, we loved her company. Overall everything was perfect and we would jump at the chance to housesit for them again.
I had a lovely experience pet/house sitting for Michelle and her two fur babies Sonny & Bean! Michelle gave me all written instructions needed and communicated well with me whenever I had a question regarding their care. As for those two, they were characters! Sonny kept me on my toes--literally! LOL His barks were distinctive of what he wanted me to do for him! He would let me know when he wanted to go outside in the backyard, (which was often)or whimper/cry when he needed to go out for a walk; and sometimes even put his head in my lap... I knew he wanted something! When he was ready to come back in from the backyard, he would look at me and paw at the glass door--I'm ready! Most of the time Sonny would follow me from room to room, and when I sat down at the desk to work, he would lay right there at my feet. Very loving! Bean, with her cute little kitty self, was just as happy trying to catch an occasional ladybug that got into the house, and on occasion try to hijack Sonny--sometimes he was not having it, and he would chase her off! LOL But, It was amazing to watch how they interacted and got along well with each other. I would definitely Sit for them again! Thank you for giving me my very FIRST Sit, Michelle!
