I have one regret about this house sit - it was not long enough! What a gem - the owners Ian and Russell are so lovely and treat you as a family member from the start. Their house is spectacular perched on the mountain top with views across the valleys to the Gold Coast - I especially enjoyed the amazing changes in the skyline from dusk to dawn breaking, with a cresent Moon at night. As for the most important persons - one dog and one cat - loving and friendly too - it took a day for the cat to accept I was his temporary human but after that I became his permanent seat! As for the dog well an aged dame who has such a gentle nature and loves it when you lay beside her to stroke her fur. As for the amazing bird life that visits the feeders set up by Ian & Russell - words cannot describe and they show no fear getting up close and personal to be fed. The environment is like a spiritual retreat among the best of nature. Recommend this sit so highly five thumbs up is not quite enough thumbs!
We felt very lucky to have been chosen to sit for Sandy & Stephen. Upon arrival the night before our sit began we had a lovely supper prepared by our hosts & we were given a very thorough run down of our responsibilities. The house is off grid and we had to feed the biomass boiler which was extremely efficient! The chickens laid eggs every morning absolutely deliciously fresh for breakfast. Stephen had asked us to water the tomatoes and veg and to help ourselves which was very kind - the rhubarb was really good! Feeding the Berkshire boars Humpty & Dumpty was fun - you had to be quick with the feed in the trough! Shadow their black Labrador was lovely and very calm although feeling a little tired, she did enjoy her little strolls down the lane! All the animals were an dream to look after! We had great communication throughout our short stay. Sandy & Stephens home is set in the beautiful hills right in Brecon Beacons 10 mins to The Four Waterfalls walk which we completed on the first day & the sun ☀️shone all day! Our accommodation was very very comfortable & really warm a great house to explore the beautiful scenery around. Thanks for inviting us to sit! Anita & Richard
Unfortunately I didn’t meet Eva, but Raj was a fantastic host. On arrival everything was super organised, Rajani had a plan for communication, the place was super clean (the building is also beautiful) plus the cats (Biggie and Bear) are so friendly! I had a super time cuddling and playing with Biggie and Bear for two days and found myself naturally taking photos and videos of them just because they were so cute! It was a fab experience in Vauxhall with the kitties as company, I wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to do it again. Thank you Rajani for the opportunity and being accommodating! You’ve obviously put so much love into the cats bringing them up - they’re super happy ❤️
What a wonderful sit! We are in love with Oby… one of the best, most perfect, sweetest pups ever. 100% we would sit him again. Nate and Stephen are awesome too… lol. They’re both very kind and generous. Oby loves his ball and his walks. We took him to the nearby forest every day and he loved it. He did so good. Their home is very comfortable, very clean and organized. All their instructions made it easy to take care of Oby and their beautiful home. Their neighborhood is quiet, but accessible to everything you’d need. Don’t miss Barber Foods a short walk up the street. It’s a great family owned wonderful grocery store with a lovely selection. We sure hope to return and if you’re lucky enough to be chosen for this sit you are very fortunate for sure.
