We had such a great time at Jasmine and Garry’s home looking after the adorable Sammy for 9 days. He has such a great independent personality and spending time with him was an absolute joy. We also looked after the 4 chickens who are very sociable and we also enjoyed the fresh eggs. The home had everything we needed and well situated on the lake which has great places to walk and very peaceful and quiet. Local supermarkets and beaches also a short drive nearby. Communication prior to and during our stay with some regular updates was super easy and we appreciated the clear notes for Sammy to follow for his routine. Thanks so much for having us, we miss Sammy the wonder dog already and hope to visit and stay again in the future.
We had a great sit in Sandy. The homeowners were very nice people and picked us up in Bedford on the day of our arrival. The pets (Jensen, whiskers, and the chickens) are amazing. Jensen the dog is very easy going and despite his age has good energy and enjoys his walks. Whiskers the cat likes a pet and LOVES to eat ( and sleep). The chickens are amazing and produce 2 eggs per day. The homeowners also have a fantastic garden. During our sit we enjoyed fresh strawberries, green beans, peas, collard greens, zucchini, cucumbers, and carrots. Overall this was a great sit and we love the experience our kids had by taking care of chickens and picking produce from the garden daily (a first for both of them).
Oh my goodness what a AMAZING sit!!! Candace was such a great host!! She was so welcoming and was so thorough with her cat care!! We loved taking care of Mia so meek and sweet and Jasper the king of the house, who would talk to you when it was dinner time!! Their house was beautifully filled with an artistic flare! Most of the pieces were created by Candace and her husband!! They had also had a beautiful back yard seating area with an amazing garden tub and pavers that they had designed themselves! Oh and the front porch!! It was such a great place to sit and sip you coffee in the morning and your wine in the evening!!! Also their house was in walking distance to Charleston’s amazing downtown area with great restaurants and shops!! Folly beach was only a 15 min drive away! We so enjoyed this sit and taking care of Mia and Jasper!!! A sit you don’t want to miss!! We hope to go back again some time!!
Words are not enough to explain how truly amazing this housesit was. Katherine and Rachel are wonderful people. I feel very lucky we had the chance to meet and talk, as they are very interesting and I enjoyed our conversations a lot. Communication before and during the sit was excellent and everything was exactly as described. Alfie and Monster are cute, gentle and extremely easy to take care of. We liked each other immediately, they are super sweet. We had nice walks and movie nights. The house is conveniently located right outside the city centre so it’s very easy to reach it by bus. I had plenty of time to study and explore the area and enjoyed it a lot. If you get the chance to sit for Katherine, do not hesitate at all. You’re gonna have a wonderful time for sure. Thank you once again for everything!
Ariana and Adrian were delightful hosts. They gave really clear directions so I felt I was able to give their sweet cat Lefty and the small herd of sheep excellent care. The use of a shared note on our iPhones was brilliant because I could always refer back to it. Ariana responded to my questions by text almost immediately. Lefty is a sweet affectionate cat who loves snuggles and sometimes scampers around when feeling playful. The sheep are very gentle and the setup for them was well thought out by Ariana so I mainly needed to check on them and break ice on the water a few mornings. Their lovely home felt European—just the right amount of high-quality furniture, kitchen and tech gadgets so it’s cozy and airy and it was super easy to keep things in order. It was perfect for me for working online, there’s even a sitting/standing desk. Getting to use the infrared sauna was a unique treat! I had a car so it made it easy for me to drive to neighboring towns for errands. I would love to housesit again, and highly recommend these hosts and fur / wool family.
This was my first housesit and it couldn't have gone better. Marie & Toulouse were easy to look after. I did manage to see Toulouse on several occasions but she was very shy where Marie was very friendly and loved attention. I meet with Kat beforehand and she very kindly gave me a lift back home.
