Tanja was great! It was clear that my cats took to her right away, and their mutual affection was obvious in the pictures that she sent every day. She was great about communication and left the house clean and tidy. An easy five-star rating.
I enjoyed staying at Mario and Sarah's home and watching over their cats and dogs. The pets were great throughout the whole stay, and was definitely sad to leave them by the end of my sit.
Richard and Mark were just super hosts. started well with a lovely meal in their spectacular home! Steeped in history nestled into the edge of a lovely Somerset village, its difficult not to like! Teddy is just perfect, a real dog but so gentle and full of fun. Lots to do in the surrounding area if you want to explore, and Teddy just hops in the back and snoozes while you cruise! On the days that you want to gather your thoughts, there are a variety of nice loops that give Teddy his exercise and you the chance to air the cobwebs! Night time is special hunkering down in front of a roaring log fire in their cosy snug!! The logs are also perfectly cut to fit the grate!! Absolutely no hesitation in recommending this sit!! We had a lovely time looking after Noo Noo and Macey. Jo and Jeff made us feel very welcome in their home
Juno was such a great companion for my stay! Jennifer was lovely and coordinated with me to meet and explain anything I needed before she left. She provided recommendations for things to do close by, and had a lovely home!
Tanya, Nate and their three children are a lovely family who have renovated a house in the countryside near Geneva. The home has beautiful earth colors and in the afternoon the sun shines into the living room. It is set amidst vineyards; just walk out the door and you have miles of footpaths through the vineyards. I recommend heading across the road and towards the low-lying hills in the North. If you are interested in linear accelerators book a tour in nearby CERN. Gracie is a beautiful Posavak hound who only just joined the family recently. She is attentive and will communicate with you if she needs something by grabbing your attention. Calypso is a spirited and social dog who is a joy to walk as she loves to scamper through the vineyards and sniff her way around off-leash (Gracie was strictly on-leash with me). Calypso loves to try to outrun the trains. The first time she darted off my heart skipped a few beats, but she came back in one piece. The fridge is a Miele with a chalkboard cover. Fun to leave messages. Tanya had kindly left a sweet welcome message for my son, our dog and me when we arrived. The fridge is quite talkative esp. if you do not shut the door properly! :-) The chicken are easy to look after. They have luxurious accommodations and are fed a superior grain. I should have make Muesli with the grain, the eggs were so delicious. The chicken love to peck about the large fenced front yard. When we were around we would would let them out first thing in the morning so they could peck to their heart's content. At dusk they are very obedient and will follow you back in their chicken coop when you call them. The nearest COOP is in the next town towards Geneva - just a four minute drive away. For a larger selection and better prices head over to the Intermarche in France. Less than 15 min drive. The easiest way to get into Geneva is to walk down through the vineyards - about 10 min - to take a train to the gare de Geneve. During peak hours trains stop every 30 minutes and only cost 3SFr one way (unless you have discounts). It's only 13 minutes by train into Geneva. If you are planning on spending a late night in Geneva, do check the train times. On New Year's Day I got a phone call from my son at 2 a.m. from Geneva train station as the next train was not leaving until 5 am :-) Nate and Tanya were always easy to get a hold of even though they were an eight hour time difference away. I am most grateful that they immediately helped out during one occasion when the hot water was not heating. Nate was on the phone in no time walking me through various troubleshooting scenarios. When nothing worked he somehow managed, don't ask me how because this was between Christmas and New Year when all Europeans are on vacation, to get a handyman to the house the very next morning who immediately fixed the issue. Gotta love a hot shower in the winter! All in all you will enjoy your stay in Russin with this kind and attentive family, the two lovable dogs and the hard-laying chicken.
We had a good time in Juan's lovely old, but somewhat chaotic house with a well equipped kitchen, and with the four lovely and beautiful cats. With the nosy Lea we had close contact from beginning. The timid and nervous Leo and Louis took a few days to find confidence, but then both enjoyed being cuddled. Even the very shy Lia allowed us after some time to touch her. From the place we did a lot of nice hiking, and there are lots of beautiful places of interest around. Juan is a friendly and helpful person. He even ordered from abroad a cable in order to enable us to connect his TV to the internet. We would give one more thumb up, if the kitchen and bathrooms would have been cleaner.
