We arrived as strangers and left as friends.

If the thought of milking a cow and experiencing smallholding life is right for you then you will love this opportunity.

This sit is all about the characters that live here, from Jane & George who were incredibly welcoming and we enjoyed two days with their company learning the ropes and another for a farewell dinner.

Dogs Birdie and Bonny were full of love & character as they helped fulfil their roles while doing the rounds.

Ursula & Bernie the mother cows and their calves were the cornerstone of our activities from milking, feeding mucking out, bedding etc. Ursula knows the routine even if you don't!

The other characters during our stay were 11 turkeys, 3 sheep + ram, chickens including egg layers, meat birds and those nearly at point of lay.

Sandy, Annie & Zannie the goats & Brian the resident Billy - by next spring kids & lambs will be adding further life & energy to the farm.

Then of course Woody, a thoroughbred racehorse and a priviledge to care for such a beautiful animal.

As you can hopefully tell, we LOVED it. Of course there's far more work than looking after a dog or two, and morning & evening chores takes time and includes a bit of muck!! But if you want that smallholding / farming experience this is the place for you with wonderful enthusiastic teachers in Jane and George.

The house is comfortable with two log burners adding some winter cheer, TV, wi-fi etc etc., and plenty of hot water for showers or baths.

For some probably best to scroll on!! But for those like us who love the idea it is an opportunity not to be missed.

Thank you J&G, hope we'll see you again next year. xx

We had such a great time looking after Rita and Maika! It was awesome getting to know their personalities over the two weeks we stayed. The house was very comfortable and in a lovely neighbourhood with everything you need within a 2 min bike ride. There were also great walking tracks, we enjoyed getting out on the country road on a nice day. Nico and his family are very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We would happily stay and look after Rita and Maika again

DANA
Sitting for Dana has been on of our favourite experiences so far. Not only does she have the most beautiful apartment EVER, but Jersey & Kittie are the most adorable and loveable duo we've come across. To top it all off, Dana is a wonderful human who we feel very lucky to have crossed paths with.

Jersey is the cutest cat in the world (we're bias, but it's true), and she will literally let you cuddle her 24/7 if you have the energy for it.

Kittie was a little harder to win over initially, but she warmed up to us after she realized we weren't going anywhere for a while, and we ended up falling in love with her personality too. She loves tummy rubs btw 😉

The apartment has everything you could need, and is literally 10 mins walking distance from a giant grocery store. There's a gym accessible from the apartment complex, as well as a giant leisure centre, cinema, plenty of take out spots, gas station and liquor store all within walking distance 😎

We felt so lucky to have stayed here with Jersey and Kittie, and already miss them. We can't thank Dana enough for being such a fab host. If you have the chance to housesit here, take it!

It was our first experience with TrustedHousesitters and everything went great. Hermann's entire family welcomed us with open arms and we enjoyed it very much.

Hermann is a very adorable dog, in just 12 days we became very fond of him! He loves to go for a walk in the morning and play at home, the routine is very simple.

We are very grateful for the days we spent in Brunei. We were able to get to know the place better and have our own perspective on this small country, in which there is nothing to fear.

Thank you Hermann for taking us to Brunei! and many thanks to the Bindseil family for your hospitality!

100% recommended!

What a wonderful time I had with Chewie! I echo the sentiments of previous sitters; Chewie is an absolute delight and mammoth ball of love. If you want a taste of what it must be like to be a celebrity, simply take Chewie outside and within moments people will be oohing and aaahing over this gentle giant. He was so well behaved, a delight to walk with the sweetest temperament; Chew-Bear only has love to give.

Dan is a welcoming and friendly host with clear and efficient communication from the get go. His place is in a great location with lots of fun restaurants, bars and boutiques within walking distance. Would definitely recommend and hope to hang with Chewie again in the future. :)

Great house sitting job! Great communication before and during the sit. Two gorgeous doggies and a very easy going cat to look after who happily shared our bed at night!

Many thanks to you both for letting us use your laundry.
