Richard contacted us promptly, and held a video call with us prior to the pet sit agreement. He invited us to stay a night before the sit to get to know his three lovely dogs, Saski, Poppy and Tulula, and to show us around the property. The dogs are super-well behaved and a delight to walk and play ball with. The house is absolutely enchanting, and is nestled amongst rolling hills of sublime Devonshire countryside. We also looked after five fluffy alpacas, two naughty goats, and some very entertaining ducks and chickens, all were a pleasure to be with. We had the most magical time at his home, with memories that we will cherish. We are very grateful for the opportunity, and miss his canine and other furry friends already!
Bill's house is quite nice. It has a big garden and a very nice terrace and a nice pool. It certainly would be amazing in summer. During my sitting: 21 oct-7 nov, it was raining all the time. The room is confortable. The kitchen has everything you need to cook. Good living dinning room and with fire place (ideal for rainy days). The only thing is that the profile pictures showed a bathtub, which unfortunately we could not use, as it was in one of the rooms Bill left closed for the sitters. Nyx was a very sweet and playful dog, the paths to walk her are really nice and we so enjoyed our walks together. The only thing to note is that Nyx is extremely anxius dog; there were times at nights when there was no way to make her come in to the house. The first time this happened I went to sleep at 3 in the morning trying to make her come in to the house in order for me to get some sleep. The next days I just let her be. Sometimes she would come in to sleep without any problems, while other days it was so stressful waiting for her to want to come in. As for the rest, it was all good.
Max is such a big sweetie. Jane and David introduced us to Max in such a way that he was comfortable with us within a very short time. The weather was much better than we expected however the house overlooks rolling green hills and the ocean, so being stuck indoors was not much of a hardship. Jane and David were very generous hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience of house & pet sitting for them.
Kara's home was a peaceful haven in busy NYC. She shared all information required for an easy sit. Walter is a gentleman, can be anxious at first but once he warms up, be ready for multiple cuddles/TV watching partner and Pearl is a sweetheart, and no fuss.
Lovely sit! Abby (dog) is a ball to spend time with. Lots of energy and very fun. The house is large and comfortable. The room that I was in was perfect-bed very comfortable, dark and cool.
What a great sit. I loved walking Issa to the beach, watching the sunset from the back deck and playing with the sweet, sweet Milo. Would return in a heartbeat. Thanks Leah for trusting your home and fur babies with me.
