I enjoyed my stay with Thor and Whiskey; both of them are cooperative and affectionate. Tim was very through with care instructions and responsive with feedback to text messages. The older neighborhood location in Arlington, while pleasant and walkable, is not convenient to public transportation so would suggest that applicants have a car if wanting to explore DC. Also should be able to negotiate steep stairs in the 1920s era bungalow which has a old fashioned covered front porch for relaxing outdoors. My sit was a good introduction to a friendly suburban DC neighborhood.
Josephine is a friendly, welcoming host and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in her beautiful house looking after the delightful Minnie. We had a zoom chat prior to the sit and Josephine printed out the Welcome Pack for me which was helpful. We had a thorough handover of both the house & Minnie - and Josephine had also kindly taken the time to mark out two circular walks on a map for me, together with some very handy detailed directions. I certainly wasn’t expecting to “cut through field with llamas and sheep” or to “look out for the two camels in the field to your left” as Minnie and I went on our daily walks through the stunning Sussex countryside – but we did ! Minnie is such a friendly and affectionate character that I couldn’t help but fall in love with her. She has good recall, and I was confident to let her off the lead on our walks where appropriate. Our evenings were spent cuddled up on the sofa in the comfy snug and during the day I was “forced” to take lots of breaks from my computer screen to participate in Minnie’s absolute favourite activity – chasing and fetching balls in the garden. I would highly recommend this sit and would love to return in the future should our diaries align.
We really enjoyed this sit!!! All three cats are lovely and easy to look after although understandably Mitsos did take a few days to feel secure around us. Franceska's home is beautiful, comfortable and very cosy... located within a ten minute drive of the local amenities in Somerton, 20 mins from the larger town of Street and 25 from Glastonbury. Franceska was excellent to communicate with before during and after and we would definitely recommend this sit :-)
Carole was lovely from start to finish and great with communication throughout the sit. Her home is full of positive energy and is a lovely little London sanctuary. I almost forgot at times that I was in London as she has a lovely garden level flat which is enclosed with plants, bamboo and trees - but is also only a 15 min walk from the tube. Otto the stray cat came into the house for dinner and is very friendly - he let me stroke him for a bit before heading back out. Bella was a little nervous but I was able to gently entice her over with some treats and she regularly came indoors through the cat flap to eat her food. Carole was very kind letting me borrow her yoga mat and giving me really thorough instructions. It was a lovely cat sit and I'd highly recommend. Thanks again Carole! xx
I am writing this on my phone so I hope it all makes it… Hocus and Rosa are great! They're the most wonderful cats I've ever met. No bad habits. They're beautiful, affectionate, gentle, playful and interactive. They do not get irritated if you pet them too much or pick them up or rub their bellies. Many cats have something that is a no-no. Hocus and Rosa just go with the flow and accept attention sweetly. They also are equally attentive. I called them puppy cats. I looked forward to them greeting me at the door when I came home each day. The purrrfect house cats. Florence had easy, complete instructions, back up help offered and emergency information handy. Even though she was working she responded promptly when I had a question. I travel with everything I need but it’s nice to be invited to really use her kitchen (spices, this or that one ends up needing if you like to cook). The house and garden has a comfortable and lovely Zen vibe. A great sit all around!
The two dogs are the best company; I had never met a long haired lurcher before and was smitten with both dogs (especially Larry the Lurcher). Friendly, calm and funny when they have their little mad half hour. Nice light back on the house with a garden view, although it rained much of the time I was there so I listened to the rain on the sky lights. Walks through fields, and Silver End has an interesting history; Shelley left me some chocolates and wine which was kind!
