I cannot recommend Janet and Larry more highly for the wonderful care they took of my home, my garden and my two cats. A couple of months before Janet and Larry were due to arrive, one of my cats became diabetic and requires insulin injections twice a day. I was worried that this might be an insurmountable obstacle. Instead, they rose to the challenge. I find giving these injections is very stressful, even though my cat knows me and has no idea I am sticking a needle into him! For Janet and Larry, they were dealing with a cat that does not react well to strangers, but they willingly took this on. My hat is off to them both, but particularly to Janet. My home has a separate apartment downstairs that I operate as a vacation rental, (airbnb). I had a guest staying for several weeks before Janet and Larry arrived and he was proving somewhat irascible. After seeing Larry and Janet interact with him, I was confident that their communications would be handled with courtesy and professionalism. Just like zeewoi, a negative review can be very damaging. While I was away, I received a message asking if it was ok if Larry removed the moss from the interlocking bricks on my garden path. How could I refuse??? I came home to paving bricks that were so clean and pristine, I could have eaten off them. My garden looked better than I have ever seen it. Larry and Janet arrived with their own bed linen, so I had no worries about making up a bed for them before I left for the airport. When I returned, my house was spotless and I especially appreciated finding vases filled with flowers, as well as chocolates and a bottle of wine. Coming home to a freshly made bed was a jetlag antidote. When I’m home, I water and maintain, (as best I can), a large flowerbed at the end of my cul-de-sac. I asked Larry to water the flowerbed and if he had time, to pull a few weeds. He not only pulled ALL the weeds, he completely transformed a very overgrown flowerbed for the enjoyment of my community. Lastly, I speak from first-hand that Larry and Janet are extremely kind and caring people. I have low vision and travelling is challenging. Not only did they drive me to the airport, Janet came inside the terminal to ensure I found the check-in counter. Upon my return, they came to the city centre to meet me at the train station. Janet kindly came right onto the platform so that I would not have any trouble finding them. Janet and Larry demonstrated that consistently going "above and beyond" is in their DNA. Do not pass up the opportunity to have these two wonderful people as your next house-sitters!
