I really enjoyed my sit with Harey and Blue. Susan and I communicated frequently prior to the sit, and she was very clear on both Harry and Blues' needs. Susan invited me to come ahead of the sit, which I happily accepted. I really appreciated her generosity as well , and arriving ahead of the sit also enabled me to become more familiar with Harry and Blue, as well as her home and the neighborhood . We enjoyed a dinner together the night I arrived, and the next day she took me grocery shopping and on a tour of the area. Her home is the small village of Finningley within Doncaster in South Yorkshire. For those without a vehicle such as myself, there was a local bus, and the stop was a minute walk from the house. Her home was very cozy, nothing fancy but very comfortable. I particularly enjoyed sitting in the backyard with my coffee and watching the birds that she feeds and I filled their feeders while I was there. Harry and Blue were both strays prior to Susan taking them in , and each with their own unique personality. Blue is more friendly and people oriented , yet not cuddly. Blue has inverted eyelashes, which has caused conjunctivitis, so I had to administer drops. Surprisingly, he was very cooperative considering. Harry was more timid and much more tentative than Blue, yet after a few days, he gradually warmed up. After all, he knew where the food was coming from. Overall, I really enjoyed them quite a bit. The area is quiet, yet there are plenty of opportunities to walk and explore to your own liking, and she lives quite close to the Yorkshire wildlife park, which also can be reached by public transportation. I recommend this sit if you enjoy some quiet time, lots of rain and a cozy retreat from the big city sits.
This house sit was honestly amazing! Vanessa’s house is beautiful and in a lovely rural part of Wales with the most picture perfect views. Vanessa was very warm and welcoming, thorough and informative. Vanessa was always available if needed and very quick at responding. Olive, Leo and Volarie were a joy to look after and very easygoing, they love a good country walk or run on the field opposite. They absolutely love cuddles and affection. Olive was like my little shadow and had so much love to give. Our favorite time was cuddles at bed time which we just loved.
This was such a wonderful sit! Danielle is a very kind and gracious housesitting host. I arrived at her home before she left - it was great to meet in person and have a nice conversation about her cats, her love for travel, and her beautiful home decorated with mementos of her travels. Mocha and Aria are so pretty and lovable! It's fun to brush these kitties - they both love it and their fur feels like silk afterwards. They would jump up and sit on the cat perch together to let me know when it was time to be brushed. They are very content to be indoor cats, sitting on the sun porch and watching all the wildlife outside. With the weather being a bit cooler, I was very content to watch the view from inside as well! I spent my time on Danielle's wonderful sunporch journaling in my diary and reading. I loved when the cats would sit beside me and the view is spectacular! It was such a gift to housesit for Danielle and her cats! Many thanks, Danielle. Happy to sit anytime!
It was such a pleasure to care for Chica! She is one of the sweetest, most loving doggies we've had the pleasure to spend time with and will steal your heart in seconds. She initially needed some time to warm up to Matt as she does with most men, although by the end of our sit we were so pleased to see her voluntarily jumping onto his lap and wanting pets/cuddles from him. Kathleen is one incredible human and was very accommodating throughout our stay. She made sure we had everything we needed and even took the initiative to label all the drawers/cupboards in the kitchen so we weren’t constantly looking through them all to find what we needed which can tend to happen coming into a new home. If we had any questions, she was always quick to respond. She even invited us to the neighbourhoods monthly full moon block party (think the song “Dancing in the Moonlight” - Kathleen started this event herself which goes to show who she is and the community she has helped build around her) which was so fun! Location was also lovely and only a few minutes walk outside of the main plaza/downtown so it was fairly easy to get around and get what we needed. Thanks again for trusting us with your beautiful home and your sweet girl Chica! We would do so again anytime! ❤️🐾
The house is very comfortable and Aya and Pim are easy to communicate with. The garden looks amazing and we really enjoyed breakfast and dinners there. It also gives us a break from our busy city life. Cats are very easy going and loved cuddles. We have rented a boat for 3 days and it was beautiful! We would recommend this house/pet sit.
I had a wonderful time housesitting for Tamara looking after the lovable Blue. Blue took a little time to warm up, but once he did, he was a cuddly and playful sweetheart. The house-sit was a breeze, with Blue mostly lounging around, and Tamara's home was a peaceful and well-equipped. Blue got 3 short walks a day. Tamara was very communicative and took extra care in making sure I knew where everything was with sticky notes. Her home's location was perfect, just a short walk to the Butterfly Preserve and the beach. I would definitely look after Blue again!
