The cats were lovely and definitely had their own personalities. Cookie warmed up to me quickly and enjoyed some cuddles, Vi is more cautious of strangers and went into hiding while I was there, Ginger slept a lot upstairs and enjoyed some pats when he was ready, Vinny was mostly keen on sleeping and came down for meals. Lots of photos and videos to get to now the cats and learn about them and their feeding. The fish were easy to feed with instructions left behind. It would've been helpful to have written instructions for the cats to refer back to as well. Sophie was very kind and generous I really appreciated the bath bombs and a koha towards my car hire. It was a lovely bath to relax in. My room was clean and tidy with a comfy bed, desk and clothes rack. The floors elsewhere in the house weren't as clean and were in need of a vacuum/mop. A few nuggets under a dining room seat would've been there before I arrived. Grateful for good communication and a great base to explore Wales.
I had a wonderful time with Maia, Pickles and Purrseidon! Maia is a total sweetheart - she was a little shy at first but with some time and patience became a loving and loyal little companion. She is a delight to play with at home in the evenings and a joy to walk with in and around Canterbury. Pickles is low-maintenance, I found her sneaking onto my bed for some pats in the mornings and evenings but otherwise she seemed content enjoying alone time. Purrseidon is a cheeky boy who rules the home and made me laugh every day! Larren & Matt are so lovely & left very detailed notes regarding their home and the pets. Their home is comfortable, well-equipped, and nicely situated within walking distance to the centre of Canterbury. They even helped me out with some parcels I couldn’t get sent during my time in Canterbury which I really appreciated. I would absolutely recommend this sit to anyone who enjoys exploring beautiful English towns in the company of some very sweet pets x
Linda and Grant were excellent in their communications and helpfulness. The two cats were a barrel of laughs and even though they are siblings, they have very different personalities. Even the cats communicate their desires very well. I would highly recommend anyone to sit for Linda and Grant - they have a lovely house in an excellent rural setting with fine weather as a bonus.
My second sit with THS and it was another great experience! Shannon is so lovely, welcoming and kind. Her beautiful home was so cozy and had everything I needed, perfect for working from home and I also appreciated how close it was to groceries and shoppers. And Jaz, what can I say about her - there are too many words! She is so smart, so funny, so adorable, so sweet and was just an absolute delight to look after. I loved playing hide and seek with her and her toys, watching tv together on the couch and cuddling in bed together at night. I miss hearing her little grumbles when it was dinner time. Thank you Shannon for letting me into your wonderful home and letting me look after Jazzy!
Elke has a truly beautiful cat that's very easy to look after. Her home is an easy, level 15 minutes walk to Upton Park tube, which provides easy access into the city. There's a bus stop a couple of minutes walk away, where the bus goes to the station. Upton Park isn't a suburb with restaurants (there are a couple within walking distance, 15 minutes or so) and the nearest pub I found that does food is a Wetherspoons about 30 minutes walk. Olivia's small terrace house would be ok for a single person or couple. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom adequate.
Had a wonderful stay with Saber and Pepe! Sarah and Zack’s home is safe and cozy, and the basement space was private and convenient, especially since I arrived before and after they left (which made traveling easy and flexible!) Sarah was warm and responsive and left great instructions. Saber is such a sweet gentle giant and Pepe is an adorable, laid back and friendly kitty. Super close to gorgeous Red Rocks park, hiking, and downtown. Hope to be back some day. Thanks again!!
