I had a lovely weekend looking after Mylo, Squirt, Salt & Pepper (the two young cats that have recently joined the family). I met Belle, but she went with her owners on their trip, so it was a brief encounter! Mylo and Squirt are both lovely dogs that are happiest having their tummy rubbed or ears scratched whilst lying on the sofa. The cats are just learning to hunt, and are very entertaining. The house is very big, and has a huge garden/woodland to explore. The owners are very hospitable and the communication was great.
We were so happy to meet Suz & Steve and we spent a very relaxing month in their spacious, low-maintenance home in Oxley. Sadly, their sweet pooch Molly went to doggy heaven before we had a chance to meet her. The house had everything we needed and more, and it was impeccably clean. We slept soundly on a comfortable bed and appreciated the a/c during hot summer days. Oxley is conveniently located, about 20 minutes from Brisbane CBD by car, with some public transport options nearby. We enjoyed attending Brisbane International Tennis, only a short 10 minute drive from the house, and took day trips to nearby attractions like Mount Coot-Tha, a koala sanctuary, and lovely country towns. Many thanks to Suz & Steve for welcoming us into your beautiful home! Please keep us in mind if/when you decide to adopt another doggy!
Cathy was fabulous! she opened up her house to us when we were out of a place during hurricane Ian prior to our sit. Her home is lovely, clean and comfortable as well. It sits right on the canal so its got great views. The neighborhood is safe and friendly. Meg and Patron were such a pleasure to sit for. Patron has the most tender eyes that he likes to use on you to get some pets and belly rubs and Meg just loves to lounge on the couch or bed with you. They were very easy dogs, even walking the neighborhood with them was relaxing. We would love to sit for them again someday. Thank you Cathy, Meg and Patron!
Jack was the absolute sweetest dog I have ever met 🥹 We had such a lovely time with him. We especially enjoyed cooking dinner in the beautiful kitchen and drinking wine by the fire pit! Julie was very communicative and the house was such a perfect retreat.
This sit was our treat to ourselves for Christmas and we loved it. Penny and Diego were ideal companions for our time in Quito city. They were content with a walk every morning to the park up the hill - about a 2 mile round trip with some very steep climbs, but your in Quito so hills are a way of life - then a couple of short walks down to the little grass area at the end of the apartments. They ate well from the beginning of the sit but seemed to enjoy human food more than their own. The pair of them were very playful but understood when we wanted to read a book so they just cuddled up on the couch. Tessa was very communicative before and during the sit. We met them the day before they left to get a look around the apartment and collect the keys. It is a gated community with lots of facilities we could use. The flat is very comfortable with everything we needed and quiet. The bed is comfortable and the powerful shower had lots of hot water. There is no need for a car as Ubers and taxis are so cheap. To be honest, driving in Quito takes a lot of courage and I would not recommend it to anyone who hasn’t driven in a large South American city before. The supermarket is a $3 Uber ride away and has absolutely everything anyone would need. The prices are low compared to US and UK. There is also a small adequate supermarket at the top of the hill beside the security gate. Lots to do and see in Quito. I would recommend the chairlift and a visit to the cathedral. We both had a great time in Ecuador and left a lot fitter and lighter than we arrived. All and all a great experience and I would recommend looking after Penny and Diego to anyone.
I had a lovely time housesitting for Carolyn in her warm, cosy home with the wonderful pupsters Ivy and Basil for company. We played zoomies and many games of tug-of-war in Carolyn’s large back yard, and I took a walk through the wooded area, seeing many birds and even a deer. There’s a handy local supermarket just minutes’ walk and a cafe and restaurant within the village. Carolyn kindly picked me up fm local train station on my first day & we shared a tasty home-made lasagne on my first evening. Thank you again, Ivy and Basil, for being such fun company.
