I really enjoyed taking care of Freddie and Lucid! They are such sweet, friendly little souls and seemed to love to hang out with me. Janice was so easy to communicate with and left clear instructions. Her home is so comfortable and a very short drive to Ojai, which has lots of healthy restaurants, an amazing little grocery store, and a lovely yoga center. This sit was a total pleasure!
Great location, adorable pets, and great host! Tiffany was great at communicating before, during, and after the sit, always available to answer any questions or help in any way she could (including picking us up from the airport when we first arrived). She was very flexible with her travel plans, allowing wiggle room on both ends to best accommodate our arrival and departure. Her home and pet care guide is thorough, and her in-home tour and explanation was great, too. Olson, Phoebe, and Mollie are the entertaining and loving Great Danes. Their care is easy and the dogs are very well-behaved. Steve is the cat that takes a bit to warm up to new folks (unless you’re Kevin!) but then won’t stop “talking” to you about anything and everything. All the pets are enjoyable and sweet, and love cuddle time. The house is conveniently located close to both Wrightsville Beach and downtown Wilmington, and is only about a 12-minute drive to the local airport. Amazing restaurants and unique shops abound nearby. The house has great WiFi for anyone needing to work during their sit. For any pet lovers wishing to visit Wilmington, this sit is a great opportunity to do so!
I can’t say enough how much we loved Bo and Katy! They were the most well behaved, sweet, and gentle dogs ever. Definitely our favourite sit so far but shhhh… They are easy and fun to take care of, are great off leash, and so sweet that is was hard to leave. Every time you walk into the room where Katy is hanging out her tail will start thumping and it’s too cute. The house was very well set up to take care of the dogs and we had absolutely everything we needed. Super easy to clean, cook, and enjoy the area. Remote work, hiking & biking approved! And last but not least, Lea Beth and Matthew were amazing to work with. Great communication, clear instructions and expectations, and so generous & kind. Highly recommend and really hoping we can come back!
I had a very relaxed stay at Christina & Philipp's house and a nice break from big city life. It's perfect for going on walks, working from the terrace, trying out new recipes in their well-equipped kitchen and watching movies in the small home cinema each night. The two cats are super easy going, independent and rarely even use the indoor toilet. At the same time they love cuddles and sleeping by your feet at night. Would definitely recommend staying with them!
Sitting for Indi and Chaos in Diana and Joe’s beautifully situated home was a joy for us. Diana and Joe gave us a friendly, warm welcome and provided excellent communication throughout the sit. They have used their extensive experience with opening their home to sitters to raise their hosting skills to an art, and we were the happy beneficiaries of this. They gave us a clear and comprehensive printed home guide, a seamless welcome and departure, a very clean, organized home with everything we might need, and adorable cats amenable to strangers. Diana and Joe’s home was comfortable and spacious- and the views and location were absolutely outstanding. As other fortunate sitters have noted in their reviews- gorgeous sunsets were the norm. It was an amazing feeling to lift the shades in the morning and see the hills and palm trees in the distance, and at night to see the lights of the town below. Just using the kitchen sink and looking out the window was a special experience. On clear days, we loved having lunch out on their huge back deck, seeing the ocean in the distance and being entranced by the almost constant stream of hummingbirds at the feeder. The house felt very private and pleasantly remote, but in fact it was within a 15 minute drive to an Aldi and Walmart Superstore, and under a thirty minute drive to the beach and all kinds of shops and restaurants in the nearby town of Carlsbad- giving us the best of both worlds. Chaos and Indi were so lovely and fun to have with us. For the first couple of days they mainly hid under blankets in their respective bedrooms, but after that they warmed up and appreciated having us around. Chaos really is an amazing cat. I feel almost bewitched by her- she was just so adorable I could hardly stand it! Although she’s a fully grown, older cat- she’s tiny and pretty and cute as a button. She relaxes hard and plays hard and is one of the most contented kitties I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. She was always up for a pat on the head or a chin scratch (she even tolerated being picked up and held for a while), but didn’t get really cuddly unless one of us happened to to be lounging on the bed for an extended period. She loved playing with her laser toy. Indi was a sweetie-pie who loved hanging out with us. He let us know when he wanted to go outside for a walk in his harness and when he needed some lap time. Usually sometime in the morning he’d ask to go out on the back deck. It was pleasant taking him out in his harness, slowing down and experiencing the world a bit from his point of view. We loved having Indi get snuggly and sleepy on our laps at minimum twice per day. He made us feel like we were part of his family. If we have the opportunity to sit for Diana and Joe again, we will feel very lucky indeed. This is was an exceptional sit and we absolutely, positively recommend it!
Mickey is such a wonderful companion, very well behaved, very cuddly and affectionate and it’s so joyful to watch how much fun he has on our walking adventures. He got on so well with my dog and embraced inviting me and my dog and partner into his home. Alex and Gemma would very friendly and was made to feel extremely welcome which I am very grateful for. They had a lovely house and would highly recommend to other sitters. Thank you for a lovely stay!
