Barley, we miss you, darling! We are lost for words to describe what a miraculous dog Barley is and what lovely people Cari and Peter are. It was a dreamy pet sitting! Cari and Peter are very kind, hospitable, well organized and helpful people. They will do their best to make you feel comfortable. Communication with them was very clear, we received a perfect Welcome Guide, Cari also put useful reminders on TH for rubbish collection. We were kindly invited early enough to get to know Barley's favorite trails and important things at home. Contact with Cari and Peter is a pure pleasure, we are pleased to meet them. We can also say only good things about Barley, he is a wonderful, mellow, precious doggy. He stole our hearts and we have really loved him. It's very easy to build a bond with him. He is a very special soul - he expects from you only love and walks, and in return you get lots of love, trust and tender looks (his hazel eyes are charming!). Barley is quite a big dog, but his heart is even bigger, so he has enough love to give it to both his owners and you. Barley appreciates his meals and celebrates by carrying his bowl in the mouth after eating, which is adorable. On walks Barley likes to bite sticks, run, get treats and jump into rivers and tubs of water. He is an extremely smart boy who understands and responds to many commands (e.g. heel, sit, up, wash face), has great recall, never runs away and sticks to his pack. At the beginning of a walk, when he is on a lead, he can pull, so it's good to have enough strength for a larger dog, for his safety. On trails he mostly runs freely without a lead and behaves completely well. While on walks he is very active, cheerful and lively, at home he turns into a huggable couch potato, who assists you on the sofa and cuddles you with his paws. He is very easy-going, absolutely smart and just an ideal dog that everyone would probably like to have! He deserves the best! Cari and Peter's house is cosy, comfortable, clean and well-kept. Also fast Internet for online work. They took care of small details that make your stay enjoyable. They are located in an idyllic village with a nice view and a beautiful stream that Barley loves to swim in and where he can easily, naturally wash himself after a muddier trail. There is also a hose in the yard, if you want to wash him. Barley receives high-quality treats, food and even doggie face wipes - it's nice to see that he is a well-cared, happy dog! Barley likes drives, trails and water, therefore Dorset stands open for you. That region is incredibly beautiful, even in the winter, great for trips to the woods, hills or a seaside. We guess you'll love it as much as Barley. Being in UK, we'd love to sit for Barley again! Highly recommended. Thank you Cari and Peter for ALL your heartiness. Hugs to sweet Barley!
Marion and Mark travel frequently , we had a large comfortable room to use and before they left we were given a tour of the house and grounds and Marion showed us how to look after the chickens
Housesitting and looking after Sie-Sie was a delight. Crystal was super helpful before and during the sit. She sent through videos of each section of the house and where to find everything we needed. Sie-Sie was so chilled for the whole weekend. She was super friendly and always wanting to be around us. We loved how interested she became with our feet, always looking at them and giving them a sniff. Crystals house was spotless and in a good location for Buckingham and to travel around the local area.
We had a wonderful time at Athol, ID, and Sophie is a dream dog. Communication was excellent with Bev and Mark and we enjoyed a visit and meal with them, prior to their departure. My wife has food allergies and Bev was very thoughtful with her meal preparation. We enjoyed exploring the beauty of north Idaho and Sophie was a wonderful traveller. She travelled everywhere with us during the numerous outings we had. Bev and Mark’s home is lovely and very well stocked. The bedroom we stayed in was very comfortable and a bathroom was right next door. The house has a spacious north facing deck and hummingbirds frequented the yard. We would certainly recommend a sit with Sophie as she was an absolutely joy!
Each pet has a unique personality. Low maintenance while loving attention and affection. The house is very centrally located whether by car or via the BART. Walking distance to stores, farmers’ market and casual food. Hospitable hosts who accommodated our arrival the evening before and departure the morning afternoon. We had very few questions but all were answered in the comprehensive and useful housesit binder. Would definitely housesit here again!
