We have just finished the most wonderful sit for Laura and James and their family. The house is stunning, well equipped, clean and comfortable and situated in breathtaking scenery. We had a delightful room and a bathroom of our own - the bed was super-comfortable- we slept so well in the peaceful surroundings. We chatted over dinner the night before and we were given lots of info about the gorgeous walks around the area- there are so many to choose from! We were definitely left wanting more time to explore thoroughly this beautiful part of Wiltshire. Our two dogs for the week were Maisie and Figgy. Don’t be deceived by Maisie’s age - despite her trembly back legs we found that once she gets walking, her internal dynamo kicks in and it’s as though she’s a little motorised dog, with a bouncy trot that she can keep up for miles without seeming to tire.. She really puts on the Go Faster Stripes once we’re out and about - and we found she’s much happier getting in the car for a short drive to walk rather than going from the house. Figgy is a young bundle of energy, enthusiasm and fun and is good to go all day! They are both affectionate sweet natured dogs and loved to be around us whatever we were doing. We will miss them both. A highly recommend sit, don’t miss it if you get the chance to spend time in this slice of heaven.
We had a delightful sit looking after Lucio & Lola - two adorable and affectionate Italian Greyhounds. Their bonds are evident even though they each have their own beds but prefer to squeeze into one together. They just want to be close to each other - the legs or heads hanging out the sides of the bed does not really matter. They are such contented dogs happy to chill at home to watch the world go by from the windows. Yes, you ask, they can run, and you'll never catch them as they speed around room to room to play catch unless they let you. We enjoyed walking L&L through the beautiful streets and green spaces near the Botanic garden and outdoor cafes in their neighborhood. They're a great looking pair and we constantly had people stopping to greet them. Sayurie and Pixie were super generous hosts and made sure our stay was comfortable at their lovely and very clean home. They are always ready to provide great advice as we transition our lives to Amsterdam. We look forward to caring for the fabulous L&L again this Fall.
I really enjoyed housitting for Kate. She is a very lovely person and her dog, Beason, is a great character. I had my own private studio with ensuite but also full use of this very beautiful and unique house. The setting couldn't be better. The garden is amazing and fits beautifully into the surrounding countryside. There are lots of great walks along the river. Beason will eagerly show the way! The area is perfect if you love wildlife and walking.
We just finished a sit for Tim, Michelle, Cole and Maverick...what a joy! Michelle was friendly and easy to communicate with right from the start. We met the evening before they traveled so we could get the lay of the land and meet the boys. Michelle and Tim were warm and welcoming, while Cole and Maverick took to us immediately. Cole and Maverick are great walkers, great buddies and just as sweet as can be. We absolutely have a special place in our heart for them. Michelle and Tim's home is very clean, organized and well appointed. The instructions left for us were very clear and easy to understand. The neighborhood is quaint and full of nice people. There are lots of great bars and eateries within walking distance or a short drive away. The communication throughout the sit continued to be fun and effortless. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Cole and Maverick in Charlotte. Should you decide a sit for Michelle and Tim fits your plans you won't be disappointed. They really are top notch hosts. We look forward to the possibilty of returning sometime in the future should the opportunity arise.
