David and Rachel definitely earned the 5-star rating that we gave them. From the first time we met, we felt good about entrusting them with our dogs and our home for the next two months. They are very outgoing and instill confidence. While we were away they were good about sending updates and pictures of "the kids". They met several of our neighbors, who also enjoyed getting to know them during the time we were gone. David and Rachel went above and beyond house and pet sitting. During our departure, Texas had been undergoing extreme heat and drought. They watered our shrubs and trees, and even made an effort to protect some plants from the oppressive sun. Upon our return home, the house was immaculate and welcoming. All of the houseplants were thriving. And while our dogs were happy to see us, we could tell they had also formed a fondness for David and Rachel. Proof positive that they were well taken care of! We genuinely like David and Rachel, and certainly hope our paths will cross again. We highly recommend them.
Liz and Jose did a wonderful job caring for our two senior dogs and our home. As we requested, Liz and Jose arrived at our home a couple of days early to meet Cleo and Widget and go over their fairly detailed feeding routine and administration of medications including injections. One of our dogs has significant mobility issues and must be carried down stairs - she also has a daily "work-out walk" which involves lots of treats and encouragement and they were able to continue this routine. Both were very attentive to all instructions and Jose's past experience working in a kennel was very reassuring. Their experience with dogs and their interest in getting to know the dogs they are caring for was evident. We also have a detailed description about our home and property and they quickly learned about rare case scenarios like use of portable generator if the power goes out. Basically, they are quite capable in home care. During our vacation, I got daily texts, as requested, letting me know how the dogs were doing. When one of the dogs developed diarrhea, Liz immediately informed me and worked with us on how we wanted this treated and monitored. After enjoying a wonderful vacation, we returned to happy, content dogs and a very clean home. To top things off, Liz had made a delicious pot of chili and homemade rolls! They get our highest recommendation and we hope to have them return to care for Cleo and Widget in the future.
