Bev and Philippe are warm and welcoming hosts--we had a glass of wine in our hands within an hour of meeting them, and if our schedule had permitted, were even invited to stay an extra night for jazz and dinner out! They have a light-filled home that feels both luxurious and cozy at the same time, with surround sound and windows overlooking a quiet golf course. They are driving distance to Wrightsville Beach and Wilmington downtown--both fun places with lots of food and activities. They offered many recommendations of things to do there, and as pet-sitters themselves, they encouraged us to enjoy the town. Tux and Ziggy, their wonderful cats, are friendly and very sweet! Ziggy cuddled with us in the early and mid-morning, and Tux all day. Tux is the alpha, and rules the roost, he loved being brushed, pet, scratched and generally loved, and shared his opinion when he wanted something. When he was sequestered at meal and sleep time, Ziggy would show his more cuddly side. They both were the perfect combo of independent and tender. They are easy to care for and even easier to love. We are delighted to have made friends with them and their wonderful parents Bev & Philippe. We would welcome an opportunity to return anytime, and hope to do so. Highly recommended!
Jason and Jess welcomed us warmly into their beautiful home and provided everything we needed as sitters over the New Year. We arranged a pre-sit visit to meet and walk the dogs. Mille and Morty are a great pair to sit. They get on wonderfully together and play happily with their various toys and chews. Five mins walk from the house there is a large park where they enjoy socialising with many other dogs, and chasing down balls/tug ropes. They are super easy to be around and they will curl up with you on the sofa for naps and comfort. Lovely people, original house, and an adorable doggy duo.
We had a wonderful stay at Hayley’s. Her house was in a great location with an easy walk to the shops, beach and promenade and great public transport into the city. Tallulah is such a friendly and playful cat and so easy to care for. She’s so sweet and loved a pat. Hayley was always quick to reply with any questions we had and made us feel very welcome. Her guide on what to do in Liverpool was great.
Thank you Molly & Darryl for choosing us to care for your adorable kitty, Toola. She is so sweet, easy & quiet. We enjoyed brushing her as she loves it so much. Your home is lovely, clean & cozy. We saw two bull moose out in the meadow behind your home one evening around 8 -9 P. M. They posed no threat as we stayed on the deck or watched from the DR & kitchen windows. The best view was from the upstairs bathroom window. We also enjoyed keeping the hummingbird & wild bird feeders filled. That easy job rewarded us with beautiful Grosbeak birds (yellow or bright orange with black & white). Yours is a 10 star sit & we loved staying in your home. Your sitters guide explained everything we needed to know. Thank you for being so generous & kind. We highly recommend your sit & would love to come back. We miss Toola. Karyn and Mike's sit is one of my absolute favorites! They are warm and wonderful people and their home is gorgeous with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The location is great and their beautiful backyard looks out over an open space with a convenient walking path for the dogs. Sadie and Buster are fantastic dogs - lovable and fun to walk and happy to relax out on the front porch as long as you'll let them. The invisible fence makes everything secure and easy. I highly recommend!!
This sit was an extremely positive experience. Lesley is very conscientious and thoughtful. She communicates clearly before, during and after the sit. The condo has wonderful views of the park across the street and the surrounding area. It is clean, spacious, and comfortable (with an excellent mattress to sleep on!), in a safe, walkable neighborhood. The rooftop lounge and first floor workout room/gym are great amenities. There is a public library less than a block away, and a public swimming pool just across the park (at the school). The metro entrance is a very short walk from the condo, and only 3 stops to get you into DC. Getting to the Kennedy Center (for shows) or Arlington National Cemetery or Reagan National Airport is very speedy and convenient via metro. Luke and Leia are lovable characters. Luke chose to hang out near to us whenever he could. Leia came near sometimes for a little attention, but mostly napped in the other room. Both cats are senior and spend a lot of time napping. Both are also very vocal; Leia is especially talkative. During our sit, Leia had some tummy upset, which was perhaps due to the stress of missing her favorite human. But all was well in the end and we certainly enjoyed spending time with Luke and Leia in Lesley's lovely home. We are grateful for the opportunity!
