We have used the zeewoi site for nearly 4 years now for both of our homes in the U.K. and Spain. One thing that became obvious was that - as we’ve been able to do in the U.K. - we needed to find regular, reliable and professional sitters for our (mostly predictable) dates when we wouldn’t be at the villa. As you can imagine, our three Spanish cats are very important to us and I wanted to see if there was a way to find sitters who were willing to commit for longer, advance sits (being a ‘planner’ this was important as it allows my husband & I to make the most of our retirement). So I posted these multiple sits on the site, being slightly wary that - as these weren’t the usual 2 weeks at a Spanish villa and that I was asking for a big commitment- the interest would be minimal. There were actually a lot of replies - many of which hadn’t taken the time to properly read the zeewoi listing and as a result, did not understand what I was looking for. In fact many of the replies were from people wanting to ‘cherry-pick’ some but not all of the dates.Plus the usual ‘your villa looks lovely, my kids will love the pool’-type responses! I was subsequently able to assemble a short -list and then video-called Irene & Mark to talk them through things. As a result we agreed to multiple sits and have just finished our first one . We are very happy with how it went - most importantly because Irene & Mark are like us, cat people and our little Spanish cat family took to them straight away. We’d provided Irene & Mark with a thorough hand-over before we went back to our U.K. home for our winter/Christmas visit(nearly 2 months) During this time we were sent regular updates on the cats, house and gardens and if there were any issues, these were communicated to us and resolved swiftly. We returned to the villa and found it spotless, were given a nice evening meal after a delayed flight and were very happy with how everything had gone. Irene & Mark are a thoughtful, curious and very nice couple who are enjoying their early retirement. We were able to become friends and share with them our local knowledge of this part of Spain. We have no hesitation of recommending them for any sits that you might be considering them for and are very happy that we were able to find such nice, professional and kind sitters for our regular dates.

We had such a fantastic time looking after Francois and Metisse at Karen's beautiful home! We applied quite close to the sitting dates but Karen responded really quickly with clear details for us and soon made us feel very welcome when we arrived. Her cats are adorable and very good natured and we thoroughly enjoyed keeping them company. Karen also gave us some fantastic recommendations of places to visit/eat in the local area and they didn't disappoint!
