Lauren and Andrew provided us an idyllic experience set in the midst of Virginia’s rolling hills and wine country on the edge of historic Albemarle county. They are making wonderful headway with restoring their lovely farm and it’s impressive antebellum home to its former charm and the grandeur it deserves. We loved every aspect of our week long stay. Sure, there were daily chores to attend to but they were not difficult and only served to deepen our enjoyment of being among a cast of animal characters we will not soon forget! Perhaps it was coincidence but the timing of our stay happened to include the checking in on and feeding of three momma ewes and their very young baby lambs. A rare and altogether enjoyable experience indeed! And I can’t leave out mentioning Mosby, the young “doggy nanny” who stayed in the barn 24/7 to protect and ward off any unwelcome visitors. He is full of joy and energy and is well suited to his role. I can’t wait to see him sometime down the road after he grows into his giant paws! Charlie and Oliver watch over all activities and also provide a measure of security and protection you’d expect from such loyal friends. Charlie is particularly good in his role of protecting and ruling the homestead. Nothing passes his notice, and you will soon find him becoming your best friend there. We cooked up fresh, delicious eggs several times from the bounty of the nearby and happy free range mother cluckers. What’s not to like about that? So yes, we loved and heartily recommend this sit to anyone looking for some peace and quiet and having an authentic farm life experience. Lauren and Andrew are very kind, generous and accommodating and you’ll be treated well if you are fortunate enough to be selected for any future opportunities here. We certainly hope and plan to return if given that chance!
Ohhh this was a very lovely house/dog sit! Everything was great! Chantal and Pat were very welcoming and easy to communicate with. The kids are cute! The house is lovely and the countryside is beautiful. I got a bit addicted to the wool shop in the Signy Centre. The dogs were big sweethearts. Very fun to mind. Had great walks along the country lanes and through the nearby villages. Would definitely mind them again!
We had a lovely time in Woodinville at Edie’s home. Sophie is the sweetest cat and warmed up to us quickly. Sophie followed us around and greeted us every morning! She was always waiting for us at the door when we got back to the house. Edie provided us with all the information we needed to take care of Sophie and the house. A wind storm caused the power to go out temporarily and Edie was quick to offer us support and help us find needed resources to get through the outage! We enjoyed their quiet neighborhood and peaceful surroundings and their location was great for exploring the nearby area. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this sit!
I had a great time at Hannah & Steve's place. Luna is the cutest kitty ever, always up for a belly rub and very affectionate. I would highly recommend for any future sitter, Hannah & Steve were always available if ever I had a question, the sit went very smoothly. I am missing Luna already! 🐈
