It was a pleasure to meet Jeanne and her husband, Richard, and to sit for their 3 kittens (6-month old girls named Minuit, Basil, and Siam) and BEAUTIFUL dog, Khun Tong Daeng. This dog is seriously one of my most favorite dogs ever... I kinda fell in love. The Airbnb apartment for my 11-day stay was cozy and comfy. And the tap water in this region has "special" properties (verified by Dr. Emoto, if you are familiar). I can certainly also verify that it was pure and delicious, and felt great to drink and bathe in. And then, of course, at Jeanne's home you are smack in the middle of the amazing Mt. Shasta region. A paradise for hiking, lake views, mountains and trees. I was pleased by my time there, even though it was winter and fairly cold. I thoroughly enjoyed being inside and hanging with the pets (Jeanne encouraged me to keep the place toasty, and provided a wealth of tv/movie options, as well as an eclectic and abundant book collection), but also enjoyed exploring the little town of Dunsmuir, and nearby Mt. Shasta (Shasta City). There's even an old-school 24-hr diner, less than 10 minutes away. Jeanne was very kind, welcoming and communicative. The pets were all sweet fur-babies I will miss. And the area is somewhere I would love to explore more. I hope to be back for future housesits (and to see my good boy KTD again!) some spring or summer. It's really a beautiful place.
Joanne's place is Idylic! We really enjoyed every day we passed there. Joanne was very welcoming, she has a marvelous house and land and explained everything very clearly to us. We stayed there with her two dogs, Ania and Tessa (the most adorable and gentle dogs we sit from our begeinnig at Trustedhousesitter), one cat (very shy at the begenning, but very sweet and playful when she gets to know you), 34 chickens (very beautiful and funny, easy to take care of thanks to Joanne's very well organised chicken coop). We really enjoyed our sit and would come back anytime, and we hope we will return one day. If you have the chance to sit for Joanne, don't hesitate, you'll have a wonderful time at her place!
Everything in the house awaiting our arrival was spotless and comfortable. Looking after Enid the cat was a total pleasure. Roger was especially good at talking ‘pussycat’, and they bonded immediately. I was not left out of the conversations, so she made our stay happy and memorable.
Sitting for Lesley was absoluetly wonderful! She clearly communicated her expectations prior to the sit and was kind enough to invite me to come a day early to meet the pets and get acclimated. Both pets are sweethearts and get along well with each other! Arjuna is a very sweet and communicative cat who kept me company each day as I worked on my laptop. Roxy is a relaxed, calm, senior Dalmatian who was my daily walking companion on the numerous walks beginning right from Lesley's front door. Lesley has a beautiful, clean and welcoming home on a hill in Santa Fe (with beautiful views) close to all of the things to see and do in the area. Some of the highlights of the area include: Ghost Ranch, 10,000 Waves Spa, art museums, and terrific southwest food: the best tamales I have ever had. A delightful experience that I would recommend to any potential sitter. Thank you Lesley for your kindness and wonderful hospitality!
Loved this house sit! I was very lucky getting this beautiful house and sweetheart of a dog to look after. Ruth and Stolly were SO lovely to meet and so welcoming, they gave clear and easy instructions to look after Toothy which left me at ease! The house was so clean and cosy. Toothy is one of the most precious dogs ever, she is so calm, cuddly and a joy to take out for a walk. Words won’t do this sit justice. I would of course recommend this sit and would look after Toothy again. Thank you so much Ruth and Stolly!
We had such a relaxing and enjoyable time taking care of 4 cats and 12 chickens in the North Carolina mountains. The three cats in the house were very affectionate and immediately took to us as their caretakers. The chickens were so fun to take of because of their daily routine and activities. Every night they would be back in their warm home ready to sleep and in the morning they would roll out of their home ready to find the treats we put out for them. The hosts Garry and Christina were so welcoming and gracious. They have a beautiful cabin that was very clean and organized. We hope to come back and visit their precious world.
