We had a really lovely time here. The apartment was gorgeous, very clean and tidy and felt very cosy and warm. Tom left very clear instructions which made things very easy. The cats were adorable and very cuddly. Casper loves cuddles and playtime and is very charismatic. Bonnie was very shy but warmed up to us after a bit and would spend most evenings cuddled up on our laps. The apartment is in a great location, very close to public transport and a big Lidl. We would love to come back again sometime!
We could not have wished for better company to bring in the New Year than Clifford, Lewa and Strike! A big thank you to the wonderful hosts Tish and Stuart for entrusting us with your precious animals! Tish and Stuart live in a beautiful traditional stone house just above Siorac-en-Périgord, with stunning views of the Dordogne river. In the summer the area is quite busy with tourists. In the winter months it gets much quieter and relaxing. Clifford and Lewa are fantastic hounds with wonderful personalities. Clifford is a big cuddly cross lab who still thinks he is a puppy and tries to sit on your lap. And Lewa, the Rhodesian Ridgeback – what a madam! Never a dull moment with these two. The dogs had one walk in the morning, up and down the hills. In the afternoon we took them in Cédric The Citroen (i.e. Stuart and Tish’s car) down to the Dordogne river where they could run, play fetch, chase ducks and dig for moles. They were very obedient off the lead. Strike the cat spent most of her time in the barn. She was happily waiting in the morning for her food, fresh water and a little cuddle. Tish and Stuart are lovely hosts and immediately made us feel at home. We came a day early, were greeted with a lovely dinner (and breakfast, lunch and dinner the next day too!!) and it felt like reconnecting with old friends. Stuart took us on a tour of the area to show us supermarkets, bakeries, a beer brewery run by an Irishman and to introduce us to the vet. Tish showed us the walks she would do with the dogs every day, which was very helpful. Boris and I can recommend this sit without hesitation and would return in a heartbeat.
Miss Gigia is the new addition to the list of my best friends of the animal kingdom! She is engaging, entertaining and very sweet. It’s impossible not to fall in love with her. She’s also very beautiful and, well.....she knows that!!! Gigia is very friendly with everyone. She doesn’t discriminate and makes friends very easily, in fact she’s very popular in the neighborhood. East Harlem is very vibrant. It was nice to spend few weeks in a neighborhood which I rarely visited. I even surprisingly bumped into two friends across the street.... friends I haven’t seen in years. Well, being with Gigia brought some nice surprises! I communicated very easily with Marco and Grazia who are very reliable and kind. The apartment is beautiful. And the stunning view of the lights of New York is the perfect companion when the days come to an end.
I had great days at Rachel's house, she and her family were very welcoming. The house is very well located and the cats are great company! Thank you so much for everything again!
This was an amazing experience and a first for me as far as horses are concerned. Curtis and Margo were kind enough to show me the ropes for a couple of days before they took off and were available and communicative despite the time zones between us when I needed advice. They provided detailed instructions as well as contacts should I need help with anything around the house. I loved all the animals, and Ruby absolutely stole my heart. I recommend this experience to everyone.
This was the perfect peaceful location for a mini-writing retreat with beautiful views and a pool to cool off after afternoon walks. I am so glad I could arrive a day early and spend time chatting to Karin who is a warm and open. Her menagerie is delightful, every single character. Dante and I had super fun playing ball and Shelby is an adorable peppy old soul. And I was pretty chuffed that I managed to stroke 4 of the 7 cats. I really also appreciated Karin's swift and solid communication, including her welcome booklet, which all made the stay super smooth. This is certainly a place I hope to return to.
