Everything about this sit was top notch; Sara and Jonathan are truly lovely people who invited us into their stunning home with open arms and open hearts (thank you, both!). We arrived a day early so that we could get to know the dogs and their routines, and enjoyed a couple of delicious meals and great conversation with our lovely hosts. The dogs are all rescues with difficult histories, so it's important to be especially sensitive to their individual needs (which Sara very carefully explained). We fell in love with the Three Musketeers immediately, they are such huge characters. Buzzy is a bit wobbly and likes to position himself immediately behind you, so beware treading on his toes (he already has one missing)! He can sound quite ferocious in play but it's all just noise, he hasn't a mean bone in his body. He is a bit of a glutton, so assumes any food left within reach is obviously intended for him! Bru is a sensitive soul, and one's of voice must be considered so as not to alarm him. He's an over-thinker, but responds readily to a kind word spoken from a low profile, so if he appears a bit anxious it's worth kneeling next to him and speaking gentle words of encouragement. Bru demonstrates his affection by being in manic licker mode, but will quickly calm down and loves to snuggle up on the sofa. Beautiful Bella is the quiet observer and is always ready to engage and play. She can't retrieve or play ball anymore because of dodgy joints, but she carries her toys around and is happy to show and share them. She particularly likes sitting on a knee at the table (she's nosey and likes to see what's going on from the improved vantage point). Though they all had a rough start in life, they are now clearly very much loved and Sara has them all in a lovely routine (this is the first time we've met dogs who happily queue up for the shower, to have muddy feet washed after a walk!). All three dogs are absolutely darlings. And now a word about the home: the straw house is a stupendous combination of majestic yet comfortable; homely yet with artisan flair, almost like it shouldn't work, but does. It's a warm, light and lovely space and we thoroughly enjoyed being there. There are good walks from the doorstep, too. If you love dogs, enjoy meeting good people and appreciate unusual and unique homes, this is most definitely a sit you'll enjoy. We can't wait to return! Thanks, Sarah and Jonathan for choosing us! ❤️
Tudor and Bernadette were most hospitable and very kind and generous to us. They allowed us to stay two nights before they travelled, and provided several meals for us. They gave us lots of information, and communication during the house-sit was excellent. Frazer is a loveable, energetic dog and on a walk he loves to have a dip in the clear Wandle River nearby. They live in a very picturesque area, that it is great to explore. It is well serviced by transport and shops, and it’s just a 10-minute walk to the Wimbledon theatre! We are really looking forward to looking after their lovely comfortable home again in September, and of course the super Frazer! We would highly recommend without a doubt.
It was an absolute pleasure to sit for Kate and her family. They welcomed me into their beautiful home and shared all the house and pet info with me over a delicious homecooked meal and a glass of wine.Their four dogs and three cats were delightful although I would suggest that this is a sit really only suitable for those experienced with animals. The house is well equipped and the use of a car meant I could enjoy the surrounding countryside which made my daily walks with the dogs a real treat.
I spent a week staying with Maddie and Mouse. The house is lovely: comfortable, homey and spacious with a well equipped kitchen (aga, fab fresh ground coffee machine, nutribullet etc). The garden is also beautiful- I was fortunate in that it was sunny and rainy- so there was little to do except enjoy sitting outside when it was dry. I signed up for the electric Voi bikes and cycled into town a few times which was fun and very easy. The large double bed was super comfy (always important!) with a heavenly duvet, and lovely room. The cats: Mousey keeps herself to herself so I really only saw her at food times, though she is happy to be stroked. Maddie is super friendly, always up for stroke, comes to say hello in the morning and the evening to have a little cuddle but not at all needy just very aimiable. Both very easy to look after and perfect company! Tim and Juila very friendly amd welcoming too! Would love to sit again if we have matching dates.
We had the best time with this sweet bunch of pups! They were the funniest and gentlest bunch of dogs - even when they were sitting on us or pinning us to the wall to get cuddles. They were absolutely hysterical but very well behaved. The hamsters were low maintenance but they did show themselves when food was added to their bowls. The house is located in a lovely area of North Vancouver with plenty to do at all times. This was a great experience for us and it was tough to say goodbye to this lovely bunch!
Hi! Had a great experience with Larry, he’s such a good guy and so cute and sweet. He loves walks and I enjoyed that cause I love walking too! Larry is super well behaved, he stayed with me for the nights and that made me feel safe and accompanied. The communication with Claudia and Erik was really good! They were always on the lookout for Larry and were really nice! The house is lovely, good neighborhood, I felt safe all my time there :) Thank you for the space, I really enjoyed my time there!! - Ana
