What a great first house sitting experience on this site! Sally, Jeza and Becky are great dogs to look after - really affectionate and full of character. There's loads of outdoor space for them to run around in and they were very happy. They didn't like thunder, but nothing a cuddle couldn't sort out. Chickens and ducks were great, and we had fresh eggs every day! The alpacas and goats liked to chill out by themselves, though the goats did like a good pet and scratch. Shane is really welcoming and friendly, and made sure we were really comfortable during our stay. He left the kitchen well-stocked and we were welcome to help ourselves to anything. He went out his way to defrost some really nice steak for our arrival, and said we could have any meat/veg/pantry goods/etc. The house is fantastic and really spacious, with one of the nicest kitchens I've ever seen, and a wood burner in the living room which was lovely during winter. Also the location is great - shops are just up the road, and the famous black sand Muriwai Beach close by. Really beautiful part of the world to stay in. Highly recommend for a house sit!
We really enjoyed pet sitting for Richard and Jill in Hawarden. Their cats - Jasper and Jinks are really beautiful and easy to care for. The location is easy to find and is great because it is on the Wales/England border. It is accessible by local transport. There is a Coop in walking distance for basic groceries and a bakery as well. Chester is also close by, with loads of shopping and interesting things to do. The town of Mold is close by too with lots of shops. After we finished sitting for Richard and Jill, we spent 2 nights in Llandudno, and we were able to climb up Mount Snowdon. So it was a great jumping off point to see some of North Wales. Everything about the house, (which is quite high-tech) was clearly explained. The kitties are wonderful and we would love to come back and care for them again one day. Thanks so much for having us. We absolutely loved this sit! Mello was so much fun getting to know. He was true to his name and hilarious in the way he expressed himself. He was easy to walk around and is excellent around other animals and people. Tracy and Harold are wonderful! They were very welcoming and easy to communicate with. We could definitely tell that they cared that we enjoyed our time in the area while caring for Mello. Their beautiful home has amazing views of nature from the windows and is in a great location. Would definitely sit again and highly recommend!
We had a wonderful time keeping Winston company over Christmas and New Year. He is a lovely boy with a huge personality and is super easy to care for. Dom is a great host and easy to communicate with. Their home is stylish, quiet, clean and comfortable. It’s in a brilliant location, with stunning views over the Harbour Bridge area. We had the bonus of an incredible view of the NYE fireworks from the balcony. The friendly attractive neighbourhood is delightful with many different places to explore, or walk Winston. Although not really a walker, especially when it’s warm, Winston enjoyed showing us his neighbourhood. Public transport is on the doorstep, frequent and excellent. We especially enjoyed the short downhill walk to the Neutral Bay ferry, although we usually caught the seemingly always waiting bus back. Stay onboard and the 225 bus takes you up into the extensive shopping area of Neutral Junction. The two large Woolworths stores there were great for grocery shopping. Then it’s a bus back, or a pleasant 10 minute downhill walk. We became ferry addicts. The 20 minute journey into Circular Quay is awesome, with closeup views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. From Circular Quay, ferries, buses, trains, or light rail services take you anywhere in the city and beyond. We were very sad to leave Winston. He kept us entertained and is a real cuddle bug. He definitely stole our hearts and we would love to be invited to sit again.
We had a great stay at Shirley’s - the house is really lovely and cosy in a cute Cotswolds village with really accessible long walks from the house. Shirley made us feel really at home and gave a detailed handover. All of the pets are great - super friendly and all love a play and cuddle but also happy to settle down after a walk or in front of the tv. We had a soft spot for Latke who is probably the most loving cat we’ve ever met! Cleo is very playful but a bit more independent out exploring. Zeus and Otto were really well behaved - Zeus likes to take it easy whilst Otto will follow you round and bring his to toys to you. We’d recommend this sit to anyone and would love to come back one day.
I had a fabulous experience dog sitting the angel that is Otis. He’s cuddly, friendly and good as gold 🐶💕 He sleeps on the bed, which may put some people off, but my partner and I loved it and it was made clear to me that it was a necessary part of the sit before anything was agreed. We loved going on walks and having cuddles and his re-call is really good. As for the home, Michelle’s house is lovely, clean and in a brilliant area. Close to a park and great amenities. Lovely garden too (although we didn’t get to use it much thanks to this so-called “summer” that the U.K. is having). Michelle’s communication was great from the start and I had clear instructions on everything to do with the house and Otis’ care. If I had any Qs, I messaged her and it was answered promptly 😊 I would love to dog sit Otis again one day!
