I have been House & Petsitting for Rob and Susan. They have a very nice building complex with a swimming pool on a large piece of land where the funny goose and chattering ducks are housed. You can enjoy the silence there and completely relax. I felt myself home sinds day one. Rob and Susan are warm, friendly people who immediately put you at ease, show you around and explain everything in and around the house. Provide the daily routine for the animals. Everything was arranged perfectly and there was even a bottle of red and a bottle of white wine waiting for me in the apartment. On the first day they invited me to have a drink together in the local café and eatery. And on the last night they invited me to dinner at a restaurant. Jess is a very lovely dog and my friend and companion during my time there. We have made a lot of nice walks in the wood. Once Jess was even chasing a wild boar. Unfortunately I was too surprised and too late to film it. Cats are like cats are, independent and stubborn. They often walked with Jess and me through the woods. And they regularly came onto my lap to be stroked and cuddled. Molly the mother cat even slept in my apartment for two nights. I really enjoyed my time with Rob and Susan and secretly hope that I can come back again.
We loved our home and pet-sit for Paul and Fay. They are exceptional hosts; very welcoming, entertaining and generous. They introduced us to quite a few of their friends and neighbours, and even took us out to a delicious dinner at their local pub. They went out of their way to look after us and welcomed us into their neighbourhood. Paul and Fay gave us lots of helpful and relevant information about the area, and were easy to contact while they were away, answering all of our queries immediately. Ruby is a very affectionate, intelligent and well behaved spaniel, so easy to look after, and we loved our walks with her in the fields, parks and footpaths which are almost next door. Their charming, spacious and well organised traditional house is full of character, but very well renovated. It's clean and tidy and easy to keep that way; the bedroom was really comfortable, and the spacious kitchen was well set up. The garden is beautiful, with lots of flowers. The home is very quiet, in a small quaint village surrounded by fields and about a mile from Rutland Water Nature Reserve with it's great walks and water activities. It's a short drive to the historic market town of Oakham. If invited, we would certainly return for another house and pet-sit here; we highly recommend it. Robin and Mary
We enjoyed so much with Boscoe and Tilli! They are very sweet and good companions. Tim and Jan are very good people, they welcomed us perfectly and even they let us stay one more night in their house. The house is very beautiful, big and comfortable, the neighborhood is quiet and excellent to relax. We definitely look forward to stay there in another time! Thank you so much for everything!
If you like to get the details right, like I do, Constance communicates at that level. Both our initial video chat to get acquainted and the extensive notes left in her home were especially helpful. I was also grateful for the opportunity to come and stay the night before her departure. She was able to show me her home and walk through her cat’s routine. I also got a bit of an orientation to the neighborhood and go on a walk with White Fang. This was my first time caring for a deaf cat and one that is walked. The extra details helped reassure me what was normal for White Fang and that I was on the right track. Even though he was friendly from the outset and open to my touch, White Fang was also miffed for a few days to have his person away. This came out the first few nights with items being swatted about the condo. Towards the end of my week with him though, the nights were calmer and I was able to experience what a love bug he really is. The condo is just a couple short blocks from restaurants, groceries and other retail. Driving over to downtown Vancouver was quick and easy as well. Additionally with a large park just across the street, the neighborhood has much to offer. I appreciated that the condo was clean, comfortable and very organized. The beautiful views made my remote workdays a treat. Constance was responsive to texts/emails and issues as they came up and was a pleasure to interact with. She was also helpful with resources/ideas in and around her neighborhood. I felt like she appreciated my efforts and that goes a long way!
Our sit with Domino in New Orleans was an incredible experience in so many ways. Domino is beautiful and sweet. He enjoys his time observing and relaxing and though we were sure to give him his space, he kept us company while we lounged in the living room. He absolutely adores pets and scratches which we were more than happy to provide! Sascha and Marianne are both very sweet and accommodating, also extremely flexible! We arrived late evening a day before, and they were happy to accommodate us and made us feel completely at home immediately. They also provided fantastic recommendations for food and music throughout the sit and we felt very lucky to get to spend time in their cool neighborhood, right by the tram. Their home is really beautiful, quirky, and comfortable. It had everything we needed and then some - a pool, an amazing shower and bathtub, and really cool NOLA "artifacts" around the house. This truly was a great sit, and we would sit for Domino again anytime! Thank you, Sascha and Marianne!
