Milton did a masterful job of managing house, plants, and pets while I was away. We had a good short visit the night he arrived and then I disappeared off grid for the rest of his stay, so he really had to rely on his ingenuity. The house is in excellent shape when I returned, as were the pets. My dog Chula was a bit of a handful and probably caused undue stress for poor Milton! Although traveling alone, Milton is quite capable at reaching out to neighbors and seeking out interesting things to do in the area. Very communicative and straightforward about his needs and any questions. He really has this Zeewoi gig thing down! I am most appreciative of all of his meticulous care of my place. Milton even helped my neighbors get their first Zeewoi job! Go Milton.
Jackson is a sweetie and Jen is nice! Jackson did tend to bark during the night. The main thing that I wasn’t prepared for that I wanted to put here for everyone’s wellbeing is that I found him to be reactive on walks. He does bark/growl at everyone and try to jump on them, to the point that people were telling me to control him better. But he’s not leash trained, so I could only do my best. He’s friendly, but for people on the street him barking and lunging at them is scary! I did my best to avoid everyone, but sometimes people come out a car or driveway suddenly. Jen had only told me that sometimes he can be funny around certain dogs, and just to move to the other side of the street. But he reacted aggressively to everyone including people walking without dogs. I moved to the opposite side of the street when there was a dog but sometimes there’s dogs on both sides and even if the dog was on the other side, Jackson would still bark and lunge from across the road. Him pulling me and me trying to reel him back hurt because he was so determined. I just found taking him out to be really stressful, and I wish I knew how reactive he was prior to accepting.
I really enjoyed this sit. Zoia is exactly as Moira describes, she won’t sit in your lap or purr, but she is a happy, independent girl. And I would add that Zoia loves to be loved on. She loves to be pet, especially along her throat, cheeks, top of the head, and back of the neck. She’s especially adorable when she’s enjoying being pet and will give out a little sigh. Zoia is easy to care for. She goes out in the morning, returns for lunch, and then comes in for dinner and remains in the house overnight. The area where Moira lives is centrally located. There are many places to visit along the lake, and for the sporty types, lots of good hiking and cycling in the area. Moira and Olaf have a welcome guy with many great suggestions. Finally, Moira’s home is very comfortable. It is exactly how you see it in the photos. It’s updated, clean, and has a beautiful view out the window. Communication with Moira was easy and friendly. I would gladly return!
Our petsitting assignment, looking after Loki, has been an absolute pleasure and delight. We were introduced to Loki three weeks before the requested ‘doggy sitting’ dates. Kerry and Mike were easygoing and very welcoming. Once we returned to carry out our dog sitting responsibilities, Loki took to us like a beagle to food. He is a most adorable soul who loves relaxing, mostly sleeping, yes, but he also craves being stroked and being massaged. He loves going out for walks, exploring everything he sees using his never ending sniffing antics. Early in the evening he gets into a playful mood, running around the dining room with a squeaky toy, enticing us oldies to join him in running after him. The hilltop home with cool sea breezes has all amenities one could wish for, a huge deck overlooking the valley and a self-contained ‘flat’ downstairs, where we slept. It was lovely waking up early, looking out over the fields while hearing the cows mooing in the paddocks and the birds singing in the trees. The home is a 5 minutes’ drive to the Maroochy River, with lots of walks, a 5 or 6 minutes’ drive to Bli Bli for grocery shopping and also a very close drive to the beaches or the country side. This pet-sit was like a holiday for us with the added bonus of a beautiful fur-baby. Thank you, Kerry and Mike, for choosing us to look after this super cutie.
We really had a great time looking after Sacha, such a gentle kind nature, and Rolo, oh so naughty but so cute, in a wonderful home and a perfect location. Thank you for sharing your home, we would love to come back. Ros and Del
If you are a work-from-home sitter, Jackie has a great set up: Fast internet, an overhead light ring for zoom meetings, phone chargers and docking station. She left a helpful welcome guide with everything I needed to know. When you are not working? This home has every possible streaming entertainment service. The location is four blocks from Whole Goods and their amazing prepared foods case! The real star of this sit, though, is Uma. Adorable, cuddly and respectful butterscotch-colored cocker spaniel. She will love on you any amount of time you want to give her. She will also give you space and time to work.
I had a great time at Carrie's house. Her pets are really sweet and sociable. Quinn was a bit shy at first but soon became very affectionate. Maeve is a very cute puppy, she is full of energy and she loves to play. Odin the cat was also very affectionate (and talkative). They were all great to be around and very nice company. The house is very nice and comfortable, Carrie made sure I had everything I needed and the house was very tidy and clean when I arrived. She provided me with a detailed guide so I just had to reference it for anything I was looking for. The city of Exeter is beautiful, with a lot of sightseeing, biking and hiking routes, and river sports, I really enjoyed exploring it.
