We could not have asked for a better house-sit experience! We were welcomed so warmly by Beverley when we arrived the evening before she left on her trip. She hosted us for dinner and she took care to show us what we needed to know about taking care of Charlie and her home. Beverley’s home is spacious, sparkling clean and very comfortable for guests! you will find everything you need and she even left us a welcome basket! Charlie is a friendly cat who enjoys sitting with people but also likes to wander around throughout the house - sometimes running at crazy speeds. Charlie settled in very well with us right away. I have to say the litter box setup is brilliant: the combination of the cupboard with easy-to-clean cat litter. Beverley had great suggestions for sites to visit in the area as well as for favourite restaurants. It is amazing how many attractions are close to Banbury. We rented a car and toured around The Cotswolds (so many beautiful towns!), Oxford, Stratford, Blenheim Palace, Silverstone and the Hook Norton Brewery as well as some sites in Banbury. It was lovely to get to know Beverley and we hope she takes us up on our invite to visit us in Toronto.
Luna and Layla were so sweet! We had a mix of weather so we enjoyed both outdoor play time, walks and rainy day snuggles. Luna was great on long walks and could play catch endlessly. Her personality is really calm and gentle, I enjoyed every minute of my time with her. Alana was very easy to communicate logistics with throughout. Overall very hospitable warm family, I’d sit again anytime!
Karen and Peter have such a lovely, well-appointed home and the pups, George and Cricket, became my good little friends. I absolutely loved spending time with them. If you want to feel loved, waking up with George in the crook of your arm and Cricket snuggled up against the hollow of your back is not a bad way to start! Walking in the neighborhood is very safe and the dogs enjoy taking many different routes. They kind of let you know where they’d like to go each day. On rainy days, they only wanted a short walk, but when the sun came out they really loved exploring and checking in on all their favorite places. Karen and Peter are ideal hosts. Warm and responsive, friendly and kind. They’re the kind of people you’d want as your friends. Everything they asked for was absolutely reasonable and even-keeled and I felt very safe in their beautiful craftsman. The house it great, with all the things you need to quickly feel at home. It’s clean and bright with a lovely kitchen, a nice bathroom with a great shower, and laundry in the basement. The backyard is so well-done. Even at the tail end of winter, you can smell the jasmine plant. Lots of little birds come to feed (and squirrels to excite the lives of George and Crickey) and there’s a pretty fountain that makes everything feel peaceful and serene. There’s a table for eating al fresco and nice landscaping. It’s also great to have it as a potty back up for the dogs. The dogs are high energy if they see a squirrel, but they spend most of the day looking for snuggles. They also really funny with their little toys and get bursts of energy and shake them up and chew them. The walks are their main exercise and they really look forward to them and are patient with you as you put on their harnesses. I can’t recommend this sit highly enough. I felt so at home and was welcomed so kindly by the humans and the pets! I hope to come back many more times in the future. 🌟
