I posted a cat sit for 2 different dates and Carla signed up for both. She came to Albany and was considerate enough to find a place to stay in Albany the day before I left since I had to leave early and we otherwise would not have been able to meet. She sent regular updates, the cat was well taken care of, she washed all the bedding and the house was in very good order when I returned. On the second cat sit she decided not to come and notified me 18 hours before I had to get on a plane. Needless to say I had a real problem. With more advanced notice I could have possibly found someone else but the situation caused me much stress . I would not trust Carla to sit for you unless you had a backup plan.
