It was a lovely experience, we really enjoyed our time there. Their animals are very nice and friendly and it was a pleasure to take care of them and get to know them. The house has a very beautiful location and good energy, it is in the middle of the nature but close to everything. Our favorite activity was to stay at home and in the garden with the animals and enjoy the nature. Karen and Suzanne welcomed us with a barbeque and we loved our conversations on the first evening. They are very interesting people. We hope to get to know them more and come back and house sit for them again soon.
Sitting for Jackie in Chiang Mai was lovely. She is kind, generous, and communicative. Her pets are easy to look after, just requiring two daily walks and feedings. They were good companions and quite entertaining to watch. The home is cozy and has a pool, but there are gardeners and a cleaner managing these things so I didn't have to worry about too much. I fell in love with Soda (the most ornary of the bunch) but all four cats and dogs were super sweet and easy to care for. The home is not too far from the old town and I was able to use a bicycle or hire a songtaew to get around and see some of the sights. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants, markets, and shopping in the area as well.
Watching Allison and Brad’s handsome boys Pipp and MJ was a fun, relaxing, ideal beach vacation for us. They live in Santa Rosa Beach within bike riding distance of some of the most beautiful water we have visited in Florida. MJ and Pipp have the coolest personalities for cats. They are healthy, relaxed, fun and independent indoor / outdoor boys. They will follow you around, be vocal when they need anything, and play like living room lions when they need to get the zoomies out! It was a treat to watch them. Allison was fantastic with communication before and during the sit and so generous with her home and hosting recommendations for where to eat and go during our stay. Watering her plants and having the opportunity to assist in releasing butterflies emerging from the chrysalis stage from her outdoor habitats was a super cool experience I wasn’t expecting. It was a first for us but so zen to witness. Their home is cozy, clean, and relaxing and convenient for eating out or getting groceries in any direction you drive. We are grateful for the opportunity to sit for Allison and Brad and will be happy to return if Pipp and MJ, the dynamic duo, ever need personal assistants in the future. This is an ideal pet sit for anyone who loves the beach, cool cats, nature, and a relaxing home.
Caroline and I connected via videocall and thereafter continued to establish a relationship via messages as the sit date approached. This was helpful to feel comfortable and confident during the sit. From the beginning Caroline's warmth and gentle-nature was evident. I really enjoyed getting to know her. I would say the same of Nor and Nivi's personalities. The cats were superfriendly and Nor's cuddles on my shoulder were the best! The experience of walking Nor on a leash was new to me but it was pretty straightforward- as was their care and needs. It was helpful to arrive one day earlier to observe their routine. Her home is located in a lovely and safe neighborhood with lots of eateries, several supermarkets, and most importantly a gelato store that serves vegan ice cream! Her apartment is bright and airy and I enjoyed the light and view that was available from her bedroom balcony. Caroline was kind enough to connect me to two local friends and leave me a set of suggestions to enjoy swimming, hiking, and of course some good pastries! Public transportation and walking to the center was easily accessible. If you get a chance to sit for Caroline and the kitties- I would recommend it.
It was a delight looking after the adorable Chunky and Wilbur at Christina's beautiful home in the the Hampshire countryside. They are such well-behaved dogs that were no trouble at all. We went on lovely woodland walks that were right on the doorstep with no need for leads. My favourite part was all the cuddles as Wilbur is a lap dog and Chunky loves attention (if Wilbur allows it)! Thank you for a lovely stay and I hope to visit again.
