I had a wonderful time pet sitting Maggie and Lizzie in Chelmsford. Maggie and Lizzie were extremely affectionate, loving cats, giving me lots of cuddles. They were very easy to care for, toilet trained and never caused me any reason to worry. Sarah and Rob were very easy to communicate with and made me feel very comfortable at their home. Their house had a wonderful location, close to shops, restaurants and public transport. I would be more than happy to petsit Maggie and Lizzie again in the future.
First, Dina and Brianna were welcoming and had the guest room all set up for me, and yes, the bed was comfortable. They also invited me to eat and drink whatever I wished and communicated with me by text during the sit. The reason for the four-star rating is that I found Salmon to be a challenging dog. She is sweet and loving but can be difficult to walk as she will stop at random times and try to force the route of the walk. She is quite large at 105 pounds, so it would have been impossible to pick her up. She is used to coming and going from the house and has her water out on the back deck. I had to watch her while she was out there as she was prone to wander, and the back yard was not fully fenced. The two Siamese cats are darling and affectionate. If you sit down, one will be in your lap! I enjoyed playing with them, but the combination of the dog and two cats was chaotic at times. (Keeping the cats inside and the dog wishing to play with the reluctant cats) I think this would be a good sit for two people. It was a bit overwhelming for me alone.
Hazel and Geoff were very friendly and welcoming and responded promptly to any queries before and during the sit. They gave us a delicious dinner when we arrived at their very comfortable house. Foxy was extremely sweet and enjoyed his head rubs and chicken treats. It broke our hearts to hear about his bad start in life but it was great to see him so happy and loved now. We enjoyed the opportunity to explore Mevagissey and the surrounding area.
Luckily I was able to speak briefly with Laura and Eric before they left - a very nice couple, easy-going and friendly guys, interesting to talk to. They explained everything to me very well. Even when they were gone, they were always easily reachable and always answered my questions immediately. It was a great pleasure to take care of the two cats Nahla and Calvin over the weekend. Nahla is rather shy, but when it comes to eating she is trusting :-) She also likes to make herself comfortable on the bed at night. Calvin on the other hand is very trusting from the beginning, he was most of the time close to me, followed me around the apartment and purred a lot. He likes to play with his toys, he's also a big fan of hide and seek. And the two get along well. It was very easy to look after Calvin and Nahla. The feeding routine is simple. They both have their own dishes that open automatically via chip. They share the wet food and have their own dry food. And, of course, they like a few treats here and there. The litter boxes are easy to clean, too. The large, bright, modern and very clean apartment has a sensational view over Lugano, the hills and the lake. As the son of a gardener, I especially liked the many plants. The apartment is very well located close to a bus station, stores and restaurants are within easy walking distance. I highly recommend this sit.
I enjoyed my time up in the redwoods of Felton! Brittney and Andre have a beautiful and comfortable home in a great setting. I bonded with Yuki (he ❤️'s everyone) and enjoyed taking care of him. Yuki and I saw deer and wild turkeys on our walks. Yuki is a very sweet and loving dog and enjoyed his walks, playing with his toys, and playing fetch. Communications were easy and I appreciated the hospitality! I highly recommend this sit.
Marisa & Gernot are very nice people with adorable children and cute pets. Contact with them was uncomplicated, friendly and funny from the beginning. The snakes: If you are thinking about taking care of the snakes and it makes you feel uncomfortable, let us tell you that it really is no problem. True, we already had experience with snakes. But taking care of them can be a pretty easy job if you know what and how to do. Marisa and Gernot will tell you. So, no worries. Of course you shouldn't be totally scared by snakes. But how can a cool snake called noodle be scary when she kind of greets you from her terrarium every time you come home. The cats are lovely! Fuji is affectionate from the first moment and truly the most relaxed cat we have ever met! Willow opens her heart slowly but then gives all here love to you. You will love them! Marisa and Gernots house lies in a great location in Chiang Mai. Almost in the middle of the city but calm. It felt great to be at home in Chiang Mai for a while. The best eating opportunities are close by and the old town is in walking distance. If you love nature like we do you can get to the beautiful mountainous regions very fast by a scooter. We highly recommend to sit for Marisa & Gernot. We really had a great time taking care of their home and pets! Thank you both for your trust!
