Wow wow wow. I'm not sure where to start raving about this sit... From Hansie to Katia and Mark's home to their generous hospitality, this is easily one of the top sits I've experienced yet. Katia went above and beyond to ensure Justen and I were cared for and comfortable, including offering us a ride from the airport to the house, baking us cookies, and giving us a gift bag and wine when we arrived. Mark allowed me to borrow his car during the stay, and they had us over for BBQ our first night to get acquainted with them before they took off for their trip the next day. We had overlap on the backend of the trip as well, and Katia and Mark were so kind as to let me stay while they landed then took off again a couple days later for a quick business trip. They were nothing but accommodating, and we shared nice evenings together on the front porch with wine and kitty adventures... And oh that Hansie boy! I fell in love. Absolutely head over heels. This big boy is the kindest soul of a kitty I've ever met. He is so darn SWEET. He slept not just WITH me but ON me, often cuddling into my neck, laying his face on my face, and hugging me with his thick little arms. Eee. I already miss him immensely. So yes, if you have the opportunity to sit for Hans, Katia, and Mark in their Austin home (or in their Vermont one for that matter), do yourself the favor and experience this sit. 10/10 and XOXOXO
We had a lovely week with Joey and Sammy! They are gentle animals with a lot of personality and we enjoyed getting to know them. Both of them were quite timid when we first moved in but they warmed up over the first couple of days. Allison was a great host and showed us around the house and neighborhood. We had anything we could possibly need and very much enjoyed staying in her house. The neighborhood is also nice with the metro close by as well as grocery stores, and many cafes and restaurants. All in all this was a great sit and we would come back anytime!
From the moment I was appointed I received a number of helpful, friendly and instructive messages and photographs from Asya. I was kindly invited to arrive on the afternoon before Asya was due to leave and enjoyed a lovely meal and a very interesting and pleasant conversation with her in the garden accompanied by green parakeets chattering away in the nearby trees. We later went to the nearby park to walk with the wonderful Chaga, Asha’s young chocolate Labrador. The following morning Asya very kindly drove me to a nearby supermarket before leaving for her holiday. The next few days spent with Chaga were really enjoyable. Within a few hours we had bonded and we both greatly enjoyed our twice daily walk in the very large park where Chaga loved to chase ball. She was much admired by many other people in the park where we met and chatted to other dog walkers and families all enjoying the hot sunshine. Chaga was so well behaved, I couldn’t have wished for a nicer, friendlier and loving dog. The location of the house is close to an Elizabeth Line tube station (above ground) which allows for easy and fast access to Liverpool Street station and links to many other Underground lines. I managed to visit the V&A and the RA Summer Exhibition during my very pleasant stay at Asya’s house. I recommend this sit but warn you, you will fall in love with the wonderful Chaga!
My stay at Sonia and David s home was fabulous. They greeted me warmly and generously, both with information and delicious food ! Their house is beautiful and very comfortable. But the best part was living with their three dogs: Morgan always a gentledog, Scouttie so happy all the time, and Dolly so affectionate . I had great walks in the South downs and by the beach. Watched Wimbledon with all of them cuddled by me, and enjoyed feeding them, they were so patient !!! So thanks a lot and hope we can meet again !!!
Absolutely lovely stay! The view from the house is gorgeous. Kita, Oliver, Thombi and Meg are so lovable. Philip is a kind host and his good friends often pop by to check if you are still well. The morning and evening walks are gorgeos. Olie is the kind old man you want to bear hug, Thombi is so intelligent and has an adorable cheeky trot, Meg is a bundle of love and joy, and Kita enjoy's hunting, head and hipbone scratches. The town of Prince Albert is picturesque and safe (I chose to walk everywhere), and has everything you could need. Several beutiful drives and quaint towns in the area make great day trip activities.
Brad, Karen, and Tango were great hosts. I felt welcomed and comfortable in their lovely home. Brad and Karen were quick to respond to queries and were kind and considerate. Tango was wonderful and exactly as described. He definitely needs his walks and play time, and loves snuggles on the couch. My 6-year-old bonded with him immediately. We both already miss Tango’s infectious and fun energy. The beach is a short walk away and Tango enjoyed going in the water with us, up to his chest. We’d happily house sit with Tango again. 😊
