Kaelee was wonderful! She kept excellent care of our pups, house and indoor/outdoor plants Throughout our trip, we knew the dogs were being well looked after as we had good communication with Kaelee and received regular updates and pictures. Everyone was happy and healthy when we got back and the house was just like we left it. We highly recommend her if you need a sitter.

Tom is a fantastic house sitter! He stopped by to meet us a couple months before the sit. Colin took to him right away.

Colin ate something off the trail a couple of days before Tom arrived. His digestive tract hadn’t calmed down before Tom arrived and he agreed to take him to the vet. Colin recovered nicely and was healthy, full of energy and kisses when we returned. Tom handled all of this with confidence.

Tom went over and above for us when our normal, easy dog, was under the weather. We were able to enjoy our time away knowing Colin was in good hands.

Your pet will be well cared for if you are lucky enough to secure a sit by Tom. We would love to have him back sometime!

Naomi and Chris are generous and warm hosts, even offering a kind pickup at York station.

Bing and Syb are lovely, excitable dogs. Bing is, like many Danes, completely oblivious to his size and strength. When excited, such as when he spots sheep or other dogs, he can pull on the lead or jump, which can be intimidating for anyone unprepared for it. His recall is fair; he is food-driven, but I wasn't 100% sure he'd come back if called. For this reason, I kept him on an extended lead throughout daily walks. He eats well and is very affectionate, loving an ear scratch and leaning on you at any opportune moment.

Syb has better recall than Bing, but she displays antisocial behaviour towards other dogs and children. I decided to keep her on an extended lead during walks, retracting it and holding her close when near other dogs. Should Syb decide to be aggressive towards other dogs, Bing tends to follow suit, so you’ve got to hold them both at the same time. A short lead at these times is easier. Walks are more manageable with two humans, but it is possible to walk them both together on your own.

At home, Syb is affectionate and loves to lick. She likes to know where you are at all times and tends to follow you around the house.

To avoid other dogs, we tended to take walks at quieter times, like after their dinner, rather than before. As it's summer, this was possible, and we made use of some of the nearby larger fields that had more routes.

There is a nearby paddock, walking distance from the house, that is fenced for the sheep that reside in it. It's a handy option, but it's used a lot by other residents to walk their dogs, not all of which are on leads. I was hyper-aware of this when using the paddock and found the nearby Common (which is a short drive away) a better option as it's very large with many routes on and off paths.

At home, they're comfortable and relaxed. They're both quite good in the kitchen and around human food. Inquisitive, yes, but not likely to take a plate of unattended food or jump up on the counter/kitchen bench.

There is a bus stop outside the house which runs to York in about 20 minutes, which is very handy, but to make full use of the Common and ease of groceries, etc., you really need a car for this sit. Naomi and Chris kindly let me use theirs throughout the sit, and this was very much appreciated.

Having a vehicle meant I was able to take the dogs to other areas that they may not have visited before for new smells. They seemed to love the variety, so we did this several times throughout the stay, making good use of our English Heritage memberships.

I tried to work from the house and had mixed success. Both dogs seemed to know when I was about to have a call and would misbehave throughout; 10 minutes after it ended, they would settle and take a nap. At times, I found it easier to work from the lounge where they would nap on their sofas rather than use the office or dining table, which were better for me ergonomically, as they were more settled there. The Wi-Fi was good with no issues in the connection.

The bed and room provided were comfortable.

This was the first time we've completed a sit and handed the sit to a fellow TrustedHousesitter rather than the owners. This was fine; we went through the basics (they had already met the owners and the dogs), ran through the routine, and showed them options for walks that I had found.

Well, the truth is that it is always a pleasure to be able to take care of pets, especially when they are so good. I really liked the experience, it is a town at the top of the mountain, a very quiet place to relax. Thomas, the owner of the house, is a very good person, he helps you whenever he can, he is kind.
And obviously the two kittens, Sneak and Samson, are beautiful🥰, really the continuum of everything, made my experience incredible!!

Lauren was very welcoming and left me with detailed information about the housesitting which was very helpful. Despite the time difference, she would get back to me quickly to reply to my questions. I had a great time in her cute and comfy flat and would definitely sit again
