There are not enough words to describe the warm and welcoming couple that owns this farm and home. Chicki and Jim are so easy to be around and they make you feel welcome and comfortable. From this warm welcome stems a trusting relationship that helped us to care for their home and animals with honour and respect. The wonderful couple and home is easily seen by the effect they have on their beautiful animals. Piper their black 8 year old dog, could have only come from the most loving of families, she is so obedient but her personality shines. Piper knows the schedule of the house and makes sure we're on time with the feeding and caring of the four horses; Obi, Cat, Romeo, and Grandpa KOOL. Getting to know and love each of these horses is like uncovering the personality of any new friend, each is unique and so easy to fall in love with. Chicki and Jim make caring for their horses a straight forward and very inviting task, they outline perfectly their daily routine with the horses without any pressure; and it's this type of open guidance that ensures that we don't see it as a chore, but rather an enriching life experience. Quite simply they have the perfect balance of laid back trust and a time tested schedule and set of instructions. All in all, we felt like we have learned so much from Chicki and Jim; we look up to them but more importantly we see them as new friend's in our life and are so lucky to have been invited into their home and lives. We can't forget about Dora and Diego a brother and sister team of black cats that round out the animal family of Chicki and Jim's household. These two special characters brought love and mischievousness into the house, they take care of each other, but are loved so dearly by Chicki and Jim and we loved cuddling them just as much as caring for them. We are blessed to have met this family and would consider anyone to have the opportunity to housesit for Chicki and Jim very lucky. Phil & Kathe
This was a wonderful sit. We had never met a British Blue like Oscar - when you pick him up, he’s like a soft, plush, grey teddie bear with round golden eyes. Oscar was shy the first day, so we visited and chatted him up in his two retreats; he doesn’t like loud noises or voices. As he warmed up, he would perch on the back of the couch or his hammock and check us out, before playing with his “feather wand.” He even visited us on the bed and loved to play “fingers moving under the duvet.” Oscar is very gentle and one of the sweetest cats we have ever met. Tina and Todd were so welcoming; kind, engaging, and clear re information; fun, great communicators. Their home is lovely, clean, open with lots of windows. Their wonderful garden is a very private oasis. Close to shopping and Victoria yet quiet and safe. Thank you for having us and for the excellent coffee!
Taylor is a delight and her home is comfy, peaceful, and welcoming. Communication was a breeze and I felt super prepped to give Uma quality care. Uma is an absolute LOVE - she's a fantastic cuddler and excellent at taking direction. She took me on some lovely walks, especially in nearby Prospect Park, and we found a great system to maintain her safe spaces away from other dogs and cats. I would happily sit Uma again!
