We found Nancie a few weeks ago when needing a pet sitter for our Jake. She kept him in her home for four days and loved him like he was her own. She sent us daily text with pics. Was nice seeing him so relaxed and happy. We’re so thrilled to have found Nancie and Jake is too! Thanks Nancie:)
We found Nancie three years ago when our pup was too young to go to dog boarding (she hadn’t been spayed yet) but we needed somewhere for her to go due to a family emergency. We honestly haven’t looked back since! Our Honey Bunny loves Nancie! She gets to play with other gentle dogs and we know she’ll get 1:1 attention while we are away. She also gets the comfort of a home and a backyard. Highly recommend Four Paws! Pics Nancie has sent of our girl, happy and snuggly! ☺️
My Charlie girl always has a good time when she stays at Four Paws. I love the in home atmosphere. Charlie is free in the house all the time. Nancie has a big fenced yard for the dogs to enjoy. I'm very glad I found Four Paws!
Nancie has been petsitting for my dogs for years and she is always excellent with them! I know I can always trust Four Paws to make sure my pups have fun and are well-looked after, especially if they need medication or special attention, and I never have to worry while I’m away.
Nancie is so good to our dog Leo. And I love the fact he doesn't have to stay in a kennel. I highly recommend letting you dog stay with her
Nancie is so so kind! My pug, Hugo, has a great time every time I have to leave town and he stays with Nancie. She's a home away from home. I've been blessed enough to have family watch him usually but moved to Kansas City and needed somewhere I knew he would be safe and loved. Nancie provides that and more. Highly recommend!
Nancie is the best! We like the in-home setting she provides and the love and attention she shows our dog, Charlie, whenever he stays. Nancie is always excited to watch Charlie and makes us feel at ease knowing he is receiving the best care. We highly recommend making your pup a part of Nancie's family!
Nancie recently watched our large lab on short notice after some of the larger kennels said they had no more room for a large dog. She did a wonderful job of taking care of our boy and sent us daily updates and photos of him. We will only be using Nancie to watch our dog from now on! Highly recommend!
We love Four Paws Pet sitters! Every time we take our dog here we know he is well taken care of. Nancie's love for animals is so evident. Our dog was always super nervous to go to kennel boarding places, but at Nancie's house he feels right at home and is always excited to see her! They get to stay in a home environment and get treated very well. We have always had great experiences and highly recommend!
I can not say enough great things about Nancie. She communicates very well leading up to the drop off date and even sent pictures of our two dogs while they were with her for several days. Not to mention we booked the week of Christmas on very short notice, but she was more than accommodating. We got the boys back today and could tell they were so happy to be there. Not anxious like they usually are when picking them up from a boarding kennel. They also smell really good and she sent them home with bags of treats :) Nancie is the best! We’ll be using her again in the future.
My dog Wagner and I love Dog Pawz! They love the dogs as if they are their own. Their groomer, Vickie, does a wonderful job and the vet staff are amazing and have done a great job of handling my dog's health issues. I highly recommend all of the services Dog Pawz offers!
We love it! We go twice a week for daycare and she has boarded with dogpawz. We have had a great experience with staff and she is excited to go every time.
The people at Dog Pawz have been lovely to work with! I’ve gotten my dogs groomed here and they did a great job taking care of them! We did a tour in preparation for boarding our dogs and they were so accommodating, and worked to ease our concerns about leaving our pups for a few days. Very grateful for my experiences so far!
They were very nice with my pitbull and made her feel at home. She came out very happy from her visit. Plus affordable also, highly recommend.
We had a great first experience! From the moment I dropped our puppy off they were so kind and accommodating. I especially love how she got to play at day care while waiting for the groomer. They communicate so well with their customers and I would highly recommend to anyone!
I dropped my dog off for 9 days as a first time boarder. He is 10yrs old and has never been boarded in his life, needless to say I was very worried. My dog has separation anxiety, especially when he is dropped off places and he is a very sensitive pup. He needs lots of patience and understanding. I called every day for the first 2-3 days to check in, they were very nice, helpful and I didn’t feel judged for my calling so much, they actually encouraged it. The girls at the front were so welcoming and just honestly a joy. So up beat. I also felt like when I dropped him off she listened to all my needs and worries and write down exactly what I wanted so they could take care of him the best way for the dog. They wanted to keep everything the same that they could. I boarded in the standard boarding package for 9 days, he was to have outdoor time for potty and daycare. He also had medicine that he needed to take. There was a bath that was complimentary but my dog is reactive to baths so I requested he not have one in which they did honor. One thing I was worried about is what happens if there is a dog fight. Dogs fight just like people fight and they can just plain out not get along with a certain dog just like us. They said they watch the first timers much more closely and if anything happens they assess if it is one dog they aren’t liking or maybe the dog isn’t fit for daycare. They try to put your dog in a daycare with different dogs and if the dog still doesn’t do well they don’t do daycare but individual time out with the dog and outdoor time instead. I was able to view my dog via the camera in all rooms but the outdoor area. They were awesome enough to put him in a kennel that was camera view as there are kennels that are not in camera view for standard boarding. (Also note that the next package up dogs are not viewable on camera, the kennels aren’t set up for front view, I looked at all the rooms.) I was able to see my dog leaving his kennel and I also caught him getting his morning meds as I requested. I was never able to catch him in the daycare area, it’s possible I wasn’t looking at the right time, next time I will call and see when he is scheduled to go in so I can watch him. I also watched the employees handling some the dogs on the camera with such care and needless to say my pup can be a bit frustrating, he likes to run through legs, especially if you’re putting him in a kennel. I watched as a caretaker was trying to put him away and he kept running out, they never got frustrated with him and forced him into the cage aggressively, they just patiently kept setting him in there until they could get the door closed without smashing him with the door lol. When I picked up my dog he was calm, not stressed, he wasn’t cowering or acting like he had a terrible time or like he was petrified from his experience. He was very content and happy. That impressed me and I was honestly surprised with how bad his separation anxiety can be. They gave me a run down of his visit, how he did from start to end and let me know he was involved in zero altercations. I would absolutely board here again, without any question. I would also highly recommend this place to everyone. They truly do care for the dogs and they want them to be comfortable. They also understand that this is scary for them so they try very hard to nurture them through the process instead of herding them like cattle and get frustrated with them when they are scared or don’t want to do something. Thank you Dog Pawz!!! :)
I’ve been meaning to post about my experience with this place a while back. The communication here was terrible, it sucks when you’re away and calling during working hours to do a quick check up on your dog and nobody answers. I prepacked my pups meals for his days there. The staff either did not even feed him nor change his water because his food was 90% untouched, along with his treats. The bag I put his food and belongings in, only the 1 thing of food was taken out at the very top. They didn’t even bother to get anything else out for him, not even his sleeping buddy toy. Which I stated was mandatory to help with his anxiety since I’ll be away. The last straw was: upon picking my dog up, I walked him to the grassy area in front of their building and my dog took the longest pee break known to man. I had never seen him take that long, ever! It was around noon when I picked him up, meaning he hadn’t been outside to relieve himself for I don’t know how long. I will not be back!
My dogs love going to daycare here. The staff is friendly and attentive and I love checking up on the pups on the dog-webcams.
We have been bringing our Pug, Mabel since she was a puppy to Dog Pawz. The Staff is so nice and always greets you with a smile ! It is a clean, and wonderful place for your pup! We love Dog Pawz and so does Mabel❤️
I absolutely recommend this place the staff was very friendly and treated my puppy with love and care. I talked to one of the groomers for a while she explained how long I should expect him to be there. She also gave me information on the day care services as well. He looks so handsome when I picked him up. I’m very satisfied
Toby loves coming to On The Ball for daycare. He’s been a regular since he was a puppy, so he’s made many friends! We feel lucky to have a quality doggie daycare in our neighborhood…especially love to see Mary, Brianne and all the guys who love on Toby each time we drop him off!
My furry ones Baxter and Cyrus love going to On The Ball when I go on vacation. I always know that they are safe and having so much fun playing with their furry friends. I love being able to check in with them on the webcams from time to time to see them playing.
We love love OTB! We've been bringing our dog (Toni) here for a little over 2 years since she was a young pup. We had a pretty bad experience at another local shop and so thankful we found On the Ball. The staff is great and so attentive! Toni is a frequent at doggie daycare, she loves it so much. They also have fun add-ons during daycare - sometimes even a cute photoshoot! We fully recommended anyone needing boarding, grooming, or daycare to OTB.
I have been on the search for a good groomer for my sheepadoodle puppy and after 4 attempts at different locations I think we finally found the place!!! Alana was our groomer and she did such a wonderful job and they were very timely which is nice when you have a “nervous nelly” puppy. We are so excited to have found a place we can rely on.
On the ball is a great place to take your dog for grooming. Russell comes home looking and smelling fresh. They accommodate our specific requests on his haircut as well. We will always chose on the ball for our grooming needs
We love On the Ball and so does Munson! It’s so nice having somewhere to go where they know my dog and take great care of him. I love when they have special days like lick mat, dance party or 1 on 1 time. I love that I can watch him on the cameras and they are always so nice and understanding when I call to check on him 😬 which is probably very annoying but hey, we love our pups! Thank you all!
We have been taking our dog Rick to On the Ball since August of 2019 and we cannot say enough good things about this doggy daycare and boarding! Meagan and her team go above and beyond to make sure Rick is loved, cared for and dog-tired by the time we pick him up. Rick has learned the word 'daycare' and gets very excited when asked if he wants to go. He really enjoys spending time with his dog friends and human friends at On the Ball each week. One of my top favorite features is the live webcams - it allows me to check in on him at any time. We have also boarded him with On the Ball on several occasions and they do their absolute best to make sure he eats (he doesn't like to while we are away) and gets all the love, attention, and treats while he stays with them! We highly recommend On the Ball for all doggy daycare or boarding needs!
LOVE OTB! I'm about as picky as you can be when choosing a location to have my dogs boarded. I love that they require updated vaccines from all boarded pets. The staff is so good with animals that need a little special attention. My dog has a very sensitive stomach and they prepare his food just like I do. It's clean and there's lots of room for play. I also love that there are video cameras that you can watch to see how your dog is doing. I'm really happy with this place and more importantly so is my dog!
Our mini golden doodle, Cheerio, loves going to On the Ball in Prairie Village. He gets super excited when we pull up to the shop. We’ve boarded him, taken him for play days, and had him groomed. We have been extremely pleased with all of the services. The groomer is especially good with hairy golden doodle ears! My kids love to check in on Cheerio via the web cameras. We watch him having a blast with the other dogs & getting lots of love from Meagan & her staff. We’re happy to be supporting a great local business!
Milo and Frye always look SO much better after a day at On The Ball! They love playing with all the cute doggies before they get cleaned up and the staff at On The Ball is amazing!
We had been boarding Mochi at this location for the past 5 years. The staff was always easy to work with and communicating either through phone or text was a breeze. There are currently a total of 3 play areas for slow, medium and high energy pups. Great for pups whether they love to socialize or sleep all day. There are also cameras set up for you to remotely view the play areas while your pet is staying there. Drop off and pickup could not be easier and their available overnight pickup/dropoff is a huge plus. This week we said goodbye to Mochi at 14.5 years old. He was always excited to come visit with his friends and I could not recommend this location enough. Thanks Collar Club for everything!
We adore Collar Club! My pups tend to be anxious and the staff all work hard to making them feel comfy. Ashleigh in grooming has been exceptionally patient with them. Jessica is truly a queen with training and handling them in general. I always feel very safe leaving my pups there because I know they’re getting incredible care
Convenient location, modern, clean-looking facility, nice staff. Seems like an OK place to leave my dogs, but it wouldn’t be my top choice because their daycare section which is included in boarding, had way too many dogs together and it just seemed sort of chaotic. There were probably 30 to 40 dogs in one of the large Play areas near the front entrance. It seemed a little crowded for the dogs, and I noticed them constantly milling around and some of them getting a little aggressive with each other, which the staff immediately addressed. I’ve had my dogs stay at another kennel (Hounds Town) in Florida, which had a similar daycare concept, but there were much less dogs together, and you just didn’t see the amount of tension that you saw in the dogs here. There was also a very strong dog smell when I picked up the dogs and when I dropped them off. Hounds town did not have any odor at all. Maybe not a huge deal, but I imagine how overstimulating that might be for a dog, whose nose is of course much better than mine. Overall, this was an OK place but would not be my first choice.
Been there since the onset of COVID. The front desk staff is excellent. Our dogs never stop moving after two 2 Mike walks a day. This is our dogs after after today’s Play Day.
The Collar Club Waldo is the best in KCMO - it’s safe, scrupulously clean & really good value for money. The team there however, set us apart from the rest - they’re knowledgeable, they care deeply about the dogs & they’re stable (which speaks volumes about Collar Club culture). We feel blessed to be a part of the pack!
Took our two dachshunds to collar club for the first time and was very happy with the communication from the team! Also love that you can view webcams and check in on them. No crates and they encourage you to brings beds and toys for your dogs.
My dog Munich stayed at the Waldo location recently. The employees there were excellent and gave prompt and professional notifications about my dog. The live video of the dogs too were a great experience. I would definitely recommend Collar Club to anyone.
I love Collar Club. We have our dogs groomed there and they always look like a million bucks afterwards. Our dogs have some behavior issues we’ve worked on since adopting them but they still struggle with some things and the staff does a great job managing them, which I really appreciate. The staff is courteous, communicative and everybody there truly adores dogs. Wonderful place.
My dog, Lou, has gone here for years and I have always been thoroughly impressed by the facility and staff. I love when they smile and say his name when we walk in the front door. All dog tenders are extremely attentive and are very in tune with all dogs in the facility. Example below- My dog was in high energy for his first few years as he was extremely playful- Recently, when I would watch him on camera, I had noticed he was sitting in the corner and looked overwhelmed. Without me mentioning this to Collar Club, they informed me they were moving him to the medium energy room-- they too had noticed a change in his behavior and felt he would be more comfortable in medium energy. After a few times in the medium room, I noticed he was playing again and no longer just sitting in the corner. Collar Club once again updated me saying they were really happy with his progress and he was getting back to his normal self. WOW! I am amazed and grateful how in tune they are and that they take time to read individual dogs. They truly care. Thank you, Collar Club!!! -Lou's Mom
We LOVE collar club! I have a very reactive pup who was rescued from a bad breeding situation. She doesn’t like strangers or new places. Multiple groomers haven’t been able to work with her. The wonderful folks at collar club are so patient and gentle with her. She comes back happy and clean every time!
Whether it’s daycare once a week or boarding, Dolly loves Pooches and they love her right back! They are so great with her and she LOVES going to daycare! She understands when it’s time to go and gets so excited it’s adorable! Thank you to the pooches staff for taking care of our golden girl!! Can’t recommend enough!
My pup loves going here! We have moved around the country and have used many daycares. We have found that our pup is always well behaved there, but he is generally shy and maybe a bit timid. That always made us worried because we want him to play, have fun and to be comfortable & happy. Pooches Paradise made us feel extremely comfortable that he was part of the family and that he was at home there. It definitely shows in the way that our dog reacts whenever he realizes he is making a visit to daycare. I cannot thank Pooches Paradise enough, and I would highly encourage anyone and everyone to use their service based on my experiences there.
We love Pooches Paradise. They take great care of our dog that needs medication multiple times a day. She seems very happy when she comes home, too. They are great!
I always know our beloved canines are well cared for and loved! Sophie has been going there since she was a pup almost 4 years ago, and now Stella goes there also. We LOVE Pooches Paradise!!
We've taken our dogs to Pooches Paradise for years. The dogs are really well looked after, both for boarding and daycare. Nick, Stacey and the team are very caring with the dogs and are equipped to handle special needs. We LOVE Pooches and highly recommend them for daycare, boarding, and training!
Late typed review but this place is not where I'd take my dog. Being a nearby neighbor, all day long the dogs are outside barking, fighting, or whining. No training is being done, clearly. I cannot state enough how much a nuisance having this eyesore is to the neighborhood surrounding. The staff responding to the dogs barking or fighting is either screaming, yelling, or ignoring the dogs completely. The outside "play yards" are sectioned off and quite small. Similar to the inside, which is concrete with fencing only. From the moment they open to the moment they close, all you hear are overstimulated and overwhelmed dogs. Not to mention the smell coming from that place is awful. That's why I give it 1 star. I'd give it zero if I could.
We have been incredibly happy with Pooches in the last year and a half or so of attending. Our dog loves going to Day Play or ‘Puppy Camp’ in our house. Nick has also been wonderful in helping us come up with training solutions for our dog who struggles with pulling on walks, barking and territory issues. Their expertise is much appreciated and we love supporting a local family business.
We sent our dog to daycare and boarding at Pooches since October 2023. Our dog passed their temperament training and has never had any incidents with other dogs or humans. She is a puppy, now just over a year old, and has a lot of energy, but is a VERY friendly dog. Pooches has taken our money and let us book her for daycare and boarding, however we found out last week that the last couple of times we took her there they kept her in a kennel, and they did not let us know about this change. We would have NEVER paid for her to be kenneled for doggie daycare and boarding. We were sending her there so she could have playtime with other dogs. When this was finally brought to our attention, we expressed our dissatisfaction and asked to speak with the owner. We were very upset that they continued to take our money and our dog and were not upfront about how they were treating her. The owner has NOT contacted us back in over a week. We also asked for a credit for her last daycare visit because we never would have booked had we known she was not interacting with other dogs. At one point we thought this place was wonderful. Knowing what we know now, I would never recommend them. Other patrons, you might want to make sure your dog is not getting kenneled instead of interacting with other dogs.
We LOVE Pooches Paradise! Arto absolutely goes ham over this place. He gets so excited to go in the mornings and is so worn out by days end from playing with all his friends. This is a family owned & operated business and you can tell they really enjoy and love what they do. The staff is friendly, fun, and well educated in all things pooches. Arto is always eager to see them when he gets there. Stacie, the owner, is an absolute delight to see during drop offs or pick ups. She is very attentive to all pooches and takes pride in her business and services. We have also seen Vega for all our grooming services and dang does Arto come out looking GOOOOOD! There is always great communication by the staff if there is ever a problem or if Arto has been the best boy that day. I would recommend this place 10x over.
I am unable to put into words how grateful I am to have found this place. Bentley loves going here and the staff is amazing. I am so thankful for them.
Every experience we have had with this company has been great. They are very professional and friendly and truly care about your pets. If you are looking for someone to come watch your pet at your home then this is the place to call. They will play with your pets and spend time with them while you are gone. My dogs have never had any issues with Petey's. The owner is very friendly and understanding. This is a small business where you feel like you are getting the personal attention you and your pets deserve. She also hand makes her yarn blankets and they are so soft and comfy! My cat never leaves her cat bed either!!
Petey's is the absolute BEST place!!! Lisa and her staff go above and beyond with taking amazing care of my dog. My dog can barely contain herself when she sees us pulling up to go to Petey's because she is so happy and excited!! It gives me great peace of mind to leave her there when we have to go out of town or if she needs a place to go play. She has so much fun when she goes there and is very well taken care of. The staff is great about posting pictures online of your pet and updating you. I feel VERY fortunate to have found Petey's for my dog. It has made a huge difference!! I don't know what I'd do without them!
Petey's is wonderful. They are so easy to work with. We have two little dachshunds who do not do well with staying at the larger, traditional boarding facilities. We needed something with a more personal touch, Petey's delivers. The online portal makes booking services a breeze - and you input all the important information about your pets so you know that they have the knowledge they need to care for them. Also - when someone visits my dog - I get a full report and pictures. The dogs do so great with this service. We've also left the dogs at Lisa's house a handful of times and they REALLY love that - they barely want to come home after their stay. Petey's has been a life/time saver for us, and I highly recommend them to anyone.
Petey's Playhouse is now my go to pet service. I highly recommend them! We recently left town to visit family and I was nervous about leaving our new rescue puppy. She came from a bad situation and gets anxious around new people. I worried in vain. She received such wonderful care and love that she was giving her caregiver kisses within the first couple of visits. That speaks volumes! I received pictures and a report after each visit and that put me completely at ease. The entire team at Petey's is amazing. It's obvious how much they love animals and I know that when I leave my fur babies in their care, it's the next best thing to me being home with them.
Long time user of this amazing service! Not only are the owners and employees wonderful and respectful of my house and pets they go above and beyond to give my space and pets so much extra love. They have truly become a part of our family! I have two large dogs that can be a handful at times; they get excited everytime a Peteys employee comes to take care of them. I work long hours away from home being a travel nurse and being able to trust PETEYS with my babies has been so amazing. The communication is great and everyone always keeps me informed of every change and entail that’s going on in my pets world. I love love love reading my dogs reports at the end of the day; gives me so much peace of mind knowing my babies are in such good care. I am so thankful to of found this service! 10/10 would absolutely recommend!
Petey’s is fantastic! They offer a variety of pet services like dog walking, dog sitting, and even cat sitting. The staff is very personable and professional, but best of all they are trained and certified to take care of your fur babies! They go above and beyond with the animals in their care and the owners! We especially love the hand crafted blankets, toys, poop bag holders, etc. that can be bought for your pup to sleep on or play with! I absolutely love Petey’s Playhouse and I know you will too!!
The Petey's team is top notch! We left our newly adopted tripod puppy to go on vacation and Petey's cared for her in our home for five days. She tested them by chewing up a remote control and nearly had to visit the emergency vet! Despite having to deal with a scary situation, Petey's professionals handled our pup (and me, her worried dog mom!) with the utmost care, patience, and responsiveness. They found the batteries and then made sure she had not punctured them. Then they tightened and re-secured our baby gate and even set up a little webcam to keep a closer eye on her! I loved getting the updates and photos and knowing my dog was being so well cared for in our absence. I knew she was safe and secure, and that meant I could relax and enjoy our family time. Petey's is thorough, professional, and I will trust them with Loki again!
We are thrilled to have found Lisa and Petey's Playhouse!! Our dog hasn't had good past experiences at other big kennels that let the dogs play in a big area without supervision. With Lisa and her team we know he is in good hands. We have never had any complaints and would recommend to everyone! She's great at communicating, working with your dogs needs, and caring for your pet as if they were her own. I would give more than 5 stars if I could :)
We used Petey's Playhouse Pet Services to take our Boston Terrier out for his business and exercise him while we are at work. The pet sitter with Petey's came and took our baby out for two walks per day. She must have done a great job because he was not as exciteable when we got home from work. We were extremely happy with how she treated our home and our dog (we have cameras in our common areas!) and will continue to use Petey's Playhouse Pet Services for all of our pet sitting and dog walking in the future!
Petey's team is the best! I'm a bit neurotic about the care my pups receive when We are out of town, but I have ZERO concerns when they are under Petey's care. I always receive prompt updates following every service with great photos and updates. I also love when I scroll through Facebook feeds and see the Petey's posts with my girls in them! Not only have they taken excellent care of our dogs but also helped when we had a hospice foster staying with us. They were so wonderful helping with that difficult situation! I have recommended them to several different pieple, including my next-door neighbor. We love Petey's!
Owner Shawn blew me away with his friendliness, professionalism, attitude, and kind attentiveness to my very old, demented pup. His personality and kindness is contagious, welcomed, and very much appreciated. My pup looks and smells great!!!
Hired these guys for dog walking and they have groomed our pups before too. Excellent company!
Fergus is always happy when it time to go to Woofs. They take take great care of him. You can get a report card of his day if you like. He stays overnight when we go out of town and we know he's well taken care of. During regular play hours, they have cameras set up, indoor and out, so you can watch your fur baby play.
Took Armani for his 1st Groom. He came back exactly what I asked for!! He looks so handsome 💙🤍💙 thank you to his amazing groomer ❤️ …
WE love Woof's Play & Stay. Our dogs have gone there from time to time over the years, but for the last month we used the doggie day care for our grand dog who is here for a month. Every morning, we are greeted by an enthusiastic and smiling employee who quickly takes our grand dog so we can get to work asap. She comes home happy and worn out from all her doggie adventures throughout the day. I can't say enough good stuff. This place seems to be well managed and has great staff.
I've been taking my dog here for a long time. Super friendly staff who loves all their guests. My dog is an older guy who has dealt with a lot of doggie anxiety, but the staff at this Woof's location has always accommodated him and gives him lots of love. They love every dog who walks through their doors, and everybody always has a smile! For daystays, overnights, and grooming this has been the best experience I've ever had for dog care.
We love this Woofs location! We’ve taken our little guy Styles multiple times for grooming and he always comes back looking so handsome and happy. We’ve recently been doing DayPlays and everything has gone good and he comes home tired after a day of playing! The staff is friendly and we’ve had no issues. Thank you!
Our dog was booked into Woofs through KC Dawgz. There was absolutely a lack of communication between the two companies and with us. She was there for only 3.5 days (4 nights) and she came back to us incredibly dirty and covered in still wet pee and her fur was matted all over. It was disgusting. We are so disappointed with how she was returned to us. They also never let her into group play, even though she is an incredibly friendly dog. We had planned on doing a 3 week training package with KC Dawgz using Woofs boarding, but we can't imagine her being there that long and decided to cancel.
This isn't my favorite type of review to write, but I feel it's necessary. Disclaimer: Woof's did pay for vet bills and the manager was responsive and took accountability for his staff. TL;DR: My dog was injured twice and had to go to the vet both times (one of which required her to be put under to get stitches & the cone of shame). The staff may be handling too many dogs and may be inexperienced in addressing emergencies. My dog is rowdy, but friendly and fun-loving and started going to Woof's Leawood for daycare and boarding services in early 2022. The staff at the time was attentive to her needs and would call me if there was an issue. I appreciated that they knew her name and little quirks, and that the location wasn't too far from home. Over the past few months, though, things kind of declined for us. Incident #1: My dog sustained injuries on her head and torso at the daycare in March, which the staff said was due to her getting into it with another dog - but I didn't get a call when it happened (I had to go back to the daycare after I noticed the injuries when we arrived at home), never received any information about the supposed other dog and its possible injuries, and haven't seen or received an incident report with details about what actually happened. Resolution: I talked with the manager who helped with the vet bill for antibiotics. Incident #2: A few weeks later, she was injured again - this time I did get a call but it wasn't to tell me what happened, but rather to ask when I was going to pick her up because she's bleeding everywhere though they tried to wrap her paw. They said they think she stepped on glass (?!). When they brought her out to me, she was tracking blood on the floor and had dried blood on her torso and all 4 paws. After talking with the manager a couple days later, it turns out it wasn't glass, but rather she slipped trying to get out of the tub during her bath and cut her paw. This injury required her to be put under for stitches and to wear a cone for two weeks. Resolution: The manager helped with the several-hundred-dollar vet bill, but I still haven't seen an incident report. With the above experiences with Woof's Leawood, my final impression is that 1) there's a younger staff on board and they may not be totally equipped to handle the dogs and seem to be woefully unprepared for emergencies outside of telling pet owners to go to the vet. I absolutely support training and shadowing opportunities on the job, but I don't think my dog would've been injured the way she was with certified staff/groomers. 2) When I glanced at the cams here and there, there were a lot of dogs in each room, which may make it difficult for the (usually) 1 staff member in the room to adequately monitor them. The staff is relatively friendly and I have no beef with any specific staff member, but I can't in good conscience gamble on my dog sustaining an even more serious injury in their care. I do hope things improve for current and future clients!
Grady loves to play here! With the new doggie doors he can go outside to play or just stay inside. Whatever he chooses. Staff is always friendly and nice.
Please listen to the poor reviews. Almost all of the good reviews are from grooming services not for daycare services. All in all - if you love your dog and want them to be well taken care of please go somewhere else. Or go to the Woofs Play and Stay at the Overland Park South location as the workers there are professional and kind. My 1 year old has completed 2 adult training classes and holds a canine good citizen certification. The person handling my dog at the Leawood location was scratched her several times on her arm because she was FORCING my dog to go outside. A trained dog professional should not have been scratched like this - especially from a dog who is extremely well trained. The person told me she was not aggressive and just jumping and scratching her... A dog should never be forced to do anything. A professional should know how to handle a dog who is in stress and doesn't want to go outside. Especially during a heat advisory. There are WAY too many dogs at this location and they do not hold up to the trainer per dog ratio. Luckily, I am being refunded the package that I bought which is why I am putting one star.
Had to bring our rottweiler to this location because our normal location was booked. The staff was great and took amazing care of our dog while we were out of town. She came home happy and clean and I can't thank the staff enough!
We have used a lot of pet sitters through the years and this one was by the far the most disappointing one. The time spent on my dog’s visits one day were cut down to as low as 11 minutes (on one visit)! There is no excuse for that. I also received one text initiated by the sitter the entire time to update me on how my dogs were doing and received no pictures at all. This caused much more anxiety during our vacation than it needed to. I recommend looking elsewhere when finding a pet sitter!
Have used them many times over 6 years. All sitters have been professional and wonderful for both an elderly dog and now a couple of kittens. Would recommend
I have used Grand-Paws a few times now, and the pet sitters have always done a fantastic job. I would like to thank Jane for going above and beyond during my most recent trip. Thank you!
My sitter was pawesome! She even got my nervous pupper to go out & come in! That tells me LOTS! Will definitely use them in the future.
They have been doing an exceptional job and we would definitely recommend
They are the best place no doubt! Top of the world 6 stars!
Terribly disappointed...expected something MUCH better...
Murphy loves spending time with Tammie at Behave. He's learned so much and loves meeting new people and playing with other dogs.
Tammie is fabulous!! We had our 3 dogs stay with her. We’ve always had someone come to the house in the past so this was our first time at Behave. She texted to give us updates and sent a video of them all playing. Thanks for taking good care of them!
I love taking our dog Jake to Tammie, he enjoys it also. She is so helpful, at the last minute we needed to have Jake boarded for two nights due to my husband was hospitalized. She is so willing to help in anyway she can, she goes above and beyond just taking care of your dog.
Tammie is an exceptional human being and there is NO ONE I would trust more to board my animals ! She always goes above and beyond to make accommodations for you & your animals and has the kindest, most gentle spirit. My puppy came home with a perfect pedicure, a shiny coat, a full tummy and a wagging tail. What more could you hope for?
She did a wonderful job with my boxer Bandit. He was rambunctious and troublesome. Eating everything in the house now he is a little angel. If your dog is a bit out of control I highly recommend her.
My dog and chinchillas we're very happy at Behave. I am going to always use them whenever I have to leave my furry family behind!
The owner is wondering and made behavioral issues with my dog Polo a thing in the past!
Such a great place to take your animals and the staff is so friendly ❤️
Great training, great day care will visit again
Excellent
We love and appreciate Dogtopia so much! If we tell the dogs that they are going to Dogtopia they run to the door and sit for us to put their leashes on. The workers at this location truly listen and hear their customers. They are so good to our dogs and to us. Thank you for being great, Dogtopia!
Love coming here and bringing in our doggo Lucy to hang out with her friends! She’s a very active English lab so it’s a great place for her to use up all that puppy energy. Definitely recommend!
I love that all the workers know my dog by name, his habits, and report back about how he did that day. It feels more personal than other doggy daycares we have been to. I also love the activities they have for the dogs and the pictures they send home!
I can't recommend Dogtopia of North Overland Park highly enough. It's a great place with wonderful people who know how to handle dogs. The facility is clean, safe, and organized, with a nice selection of dog toys and treats. But the best thing about this place is that they are very good with our hyper 10-month-old puppy. He comes home happy and exhausted, and that makes us happy.
I have been to several Dogtopia locations, and this one is by far my favorite... my dogs too! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The playrooms are constantly being cleaned and the supervision is always safe.
My sheltie Monty started attending daycare this past week to get some exercise and socialization when I have to work a longer shift. He quickly warmed up after his meet and greet and by day two I was able to observe him on the webcams being an active member of the pack. The facility is extremely clean, staff is friendly, and the cameras allow me to check in on him throughout the day. When he comes home, he takes a solid nap right away. Thank you for caring for my fur baby!
Dogtopia of North Overland Park is THE BEST! We’ve tried several doggy daycare places and finally found the best one. Archie always has the happiest days when spent with his friends at Dogtopia and that’s evident by how excited he gets when we pull up in the morning and how happy (and sleepy) he is upon pickup. The staff is downright wonderful - so kind, loving, and accommodating to Archie and me. It’s so clean and sanitary and is such a safe environment for all pups! I could go on for days with how much we love Dogtopia of North Overland Park! I would absolutely recommend it to anyone.
Such a friendly staff and always are very accommodating of anything my dog may need. My dog LOVES going to Dogtopia to see all of his best friends!
The owners are so kind and great with our dogs, as are the employees. We’ve tried other doggy daycares, and Dogtopia North OP has been the best!
Dogtopia north OP is so great. I’ve recommended it to several people. The owners and staff are incredibly nice and take wonderful care of our dogs. It feels safe and clean and like a great daycare environment. My dogs love to go there to play!
