I wouldn't hesitate to sit for Nina, Will, Haru & Yuzu again! The hosts were very clear about their needs for Haru & Yuzu. They provided a guidebook as a reminder to our conversation. We were able to meet prior to the sit which was great as my first housesit. Haru & Yuzu are sweet, adorable, energetic and inquisitive. I loved hanging out with them and they were easy to care for. Nina was responsive as we checked in about the girls and any quick questions I had. The girls kept me thoroughly entertained during my visit. The apartment is a great modern space and just as pictured! It's in excellent location in the midtown area with lots to do and tons of restaurant and right on the metro rail line.
We had a really good time sitting for Coralyn, and we just love Mishmish! Coralyn's place is in Costacabana, which is about 15 mins by bus from Almeria itself. It's close to the beach, but is a residential area so is quiet and relaxing. The airport is nearby so you will hear planes but they're not frequent. The house is well-appointed, cool and comfortable, and has all the mod cons - a well-appointed kitchen, three terraces, and great wifi. Coralyn was a fantastic host and generous with her time. She gave us a thorough orientation around Costacabana, including taking us to Almeria to find shopping, bus passes, sim card, and tourist attractions. Our sit was for over two months, so Coralyn left us well prepared with plenty of food and supplies for Mishmish, cleaning supplies, cooking gas etc. For shopping in Costacabana there's a small superette 5 to 10 mins walk away, and for a weekly shop a large supermarket in Canada that took about 25 minutes walk. There are a couple of bars close by - one on the beach, and a Mexican bar set back from the beach, and of course plenty of options in Almeria. Mishmish is delightful; very easy to look after; being older, she has a routine. Stick to this and offer her plenty of attention and you'll get on just fine. Public transport in the area is very good - both buses and trains are efficient and affordable and we enjoyed daytrips to both Malaga and Granada. We loved this housesit and would definitely come back if we're available.
