Brenda and Martin welcomed us warmly upon arrival and treated us to a delicious dinner. They have a lovely comfortable home set off a peaceful country lane, complete with large grounds and a beautiful garden. Thatcham high street shops are a 7minute drive, so very conveniently placed. The goats, Bert and Alfi are two absolute characters and will stop whatever they’re doing to follow you around the property. They enjoyed a good back scratch every afternoon and were so well mannered. The flock of guinea fowl were a nostalgic reminder of our past life in Africa, and roamed the gardens pecking away zealously. Have patience as they put themselves away at night, they have a strict pecking order that must be followed… hehe. They did surprise us one evening by raising a right ruckus and chasing after a fox... to be fair, it was a very young fox, but still! The peacock and hen were a sight to see, with Barry fanning his magnificent train to impress the hen, who made a good show of ‘not looking’. Brenda and Martin are wonderful, generous hosts and it was a real pleasure to meet them and to look after their home, property and animals. Mandy and I would happily recommend this sit!
Madalina and Blake’s home was the perfect base for my first time visiting Milan! Leche makes the best company, and is the most chill cat I’ve met. The apartment is a beautiful space to relax in and located walking distance from anything you might need. Madalina gave me lots of recommendations for places to eat and shop, and both her and Blake were easily contactable throughout the duration of my stay. I had a wonderful 2 weeks!
